The City of Las Vegas current volunteer management program is unable to provide effective administration of its volunteers. We will discuss what type of volunteer management program would work best for the City of Las Vegas? Volunteer management models were examined to determine what best practices can be adopted by the City of Las Vegas. Research shows a correlation between citizen engagement, volunteerism in the community, and a better quality of life for citizens in communities that have active volunteer programs. The foreclosure rate of the Las Vegas Valley is five times the national average and the highest rate in the country (Hoak, 2010). Sales tax revenues continue spiraling down and fell by 6.6 percent in December 2009 from December 2008 (Garcia, 2010). State politicians face an estimated budget deficit of $3.5 billion. Recently, a paper published by Celeux et al. (2006) presented several forms for the deviation information criterion (DIC) for mixture models, each version is depended on the kind of probability function. However, no reliable version was adopted for those models. As an idea inspired by Brooks (2002, p. 617), we develop, in this paper, Bayesian deviations plugging into two known criteria: the Akaike information criterion (AIC) and Bayesian information criterion (BIC) for choosing best mix model. In 2012 this agreement will require the sexually oriented businesses to close down and move out of Kennedale. The remarkable question that the City of Kennedale has asked is how and by what means these sites should be redeveloped. In the tallgrass prairie region of North America, grasslands are often burned on a rotational schedule to prevent the encroachment of woody species and maintain the vigor of plant communities. Although prescribed fire practitioners often consider the effects of fire on plant communities, the effects of fire on wildlife are also important. Practitioners as well as park visitors inquire about the effects of fire on birds, deer, and other animals of interest. Graffiti eradication is a problem for the Nevada Department (NDOT). Over 12,000 man-hours are spent on graffiti eradication each year. One recognized graffiti abatement method is the use of non-sacrificial, anti-graffiti coating. NDOT uses non-sacrificial, anti-graffiti coating as an abatement strategy to easily remove graffiti from the public's view. NDOT conducts an annual evaluation of non-sacrificial, anti-graffiti coatings in order to keep current with industry innovation and improved product formulations. Products that meet NDOT's performance expectations are added to the Qualified Product List.

How we respond sends an important message about how we as individuals, programs, and a profession value civility. The focus of this research is to find the differences of how each state’s welfare policies have changed since the welfare reform act of 1996, and also how recipients have responded to this change. In my analysis I combined data from the U.S Department of Health and Human Services, the Bureau of Economic Analysis, and the U.S. Department of Commerce. Preliminary results suggest that states with a higher percentage of recipients on welfare before the reform showed a greater change in number of recipients than states starting with a lower percentage as did states with stronger Democratic leanings, a more …

Every year each state comes out with a report on all the possible crimes that were committed and how many people were convicted for various crimes in a given state. The same goes for juveniles, as reported in the Juvenile Offenders and Victims 2006 National Report. I compiled data on the fifty states and their programs directed towards juveniles. I then compared the different crimes against the different programs to see if there was any significant difference in Crime rates between states having a specific juvenile justice program or not. Financing remains one of the greatest challenges facing public parks and recreation managers in the United States. Managers are confronted with the challenge of providing more services for a growing population with dwindling public financial support (Fretwell and Frost, 2006). Adequate funding has been described as the most important factor in the delivery of recreation at the local level (Gladwell, Anderson, and Sellers, 2003). Existing research explains reasons why nonprofit organizations and local governments collaborate in both formal and informal partnerships to increase the volume or speed of service delivery, reduce overhead costs, and maximize the efficient use of taxpayer dollars. In this focus, the author examines two methods utilized by Cobb County government to supply funding to local nonprofit organizations. Based on interviews with department and program directors of partnering agencies, the study found that Cobb County delivers between $15 and $17 million annually to nonprofit agencies via two unique partnerships.
