School Libraries Get "Graphic": An Analysis Of Graphic Novels In The School Library Collection, Rebecca Lacoste

Graphic novels have been recognized by many professionals, researchers, and educators as a major factor in increasing student engagement. The purpose of this research is to analyze a middle school library's statistical data before and after the addition of graphic novels into the library collection. The study also analyzes the growth of scholarly literature related to graphic novels and school libraries. The compilation of this research should provide insight to school librarians, teachers, administrators, and researchers on the value and successes associated with the inclusion of graphic novels in the school library collection.

Bibliometric Analysis Of Biotechnology Research In Nigeria, Oladimeji Oladosu, Oladimeji Abimbola, Odejobi Bolaji

The aim of this paper is to quantitatively analyze the volume and publication pattern of research in the field of biotechnology in Nigeria. A bibliometric analysis was carried out on documents related to biotechnology research in Nigeria published from 1988 – 2018 and indexed in SCOPUS database. The analysis results reveal an increase in biotechnology research in Nigeria since 1988, and the University of Ibadan is the most productive institution in terms of publications. The trend of biotechnology research in Nigeria portends growth in the future.

Negotiations connected with database renewals are sharply critical and ultimately impact renewal decisions. Today, academic libraries face an ever-consolidating marketplace, often accompanied by disruptive cost increases that toss sound reasoning aside. Instances of super-exponential cost increases transfigure once reasonable practices based on sound criteria to unsustainable subscriptions and inappropriate access models. Most troubling is that libraries have seldom been asked to participate in stakeholder discussions before these models and decisions were made. Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the barriers to using information technology in the education of librarian students of Tehran Iran Azad University. The purpose of this study is an applied descriptive survey. The statistical population of this study includes all students studying at Tehran Azad University. Based on Cochran's formula, 107 people were selected based on stratified random sampling criteria and the required information was collected through a researcher-made questionnaire with 27 items.

The study utilized quantitative method of research to determine the level of knowledge and skills of academic librarians in Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines on the five domains of research and the challenges they encountered relative to research writing. It also employed non-parametric Friedman test to determine the significant difference of librarians’ knowledge and skills across the five domains of research. Service jobs require regular interaction with customers and have certain expectations of specific emotions that should be shown during transactions. This use of expected emotional displays during service transactions is called emotional labor and it is an important part of service work, but there are significant consequences for regular use. This paper reviews the literature on emotional labor, and the consequences of the repeated use of emotional labor within the service workforce. Academic and public library collections are developed based on the needs of the communities that surround them. Technology has increased the way users access information, and the way libraries offer information to their users. However, the accessibility of electronic resources for users with print disabilities remains an issue that has yet to have an equitable remedy. This paper identifies the challenges of visually impaired users, the developments in law, the current state of accessibility in academic and public library collections policies, and the current formats and products that are leading the way.

This study has made an attempt to analysis the engineering college faculty members use of electronic resources and its impact of academic growth in Namakkal district in Tamilnadu. Based on the aim, survey method is applied and standard, structured and pretested questionnaire as a tool of this study. Percentage analysis, one-way ANOVA and post-host statistical tools are used for data analysis. Pie and bar charts also used for data representation. 1070 fully filled questionnaires received from the respondents. Thirty Years Research Output On Rural Women Entrepreneurship: A Bibliometric Analysis Of Publications (1989-2018), Seema Parmar, Suman Ghalawat

The present study is an effort to highlights the growth of literature on rural women entrepreneurship from 1989 to 2018. Data was taken from a leading indexing database Scopus. A total number of 188 articles on the topic were explored in different type of published documents. The results shows that research output on rural women entrepreneurship was increased gradually from 7 in 2011 to 16 in 2015 and 25 in 2018. A continuous increase in literature was recorded from first decade to the latest decade. Majority of publications (19.14%) received at least once citations followed by 18.08 % received 6 …
