How can you use humor to relieve pandemic fatigue while teaching visual literacy? At the University of Dayton, librarians developed an asynchronous session on visual literacy and internet memes. The session introduced students to fair use, public domain and Creative Commons images and tools for determining how they could be remixed or reused. The interactive tutorial included an active learning component where students created their own fun and lighthearted memes. Memes were shared with permission via the library’s social media channels and not only showcased student work but built community through humor in spite of pandemic isolation. This poster covers …

In Spring 2021, the librarian presenters partnered with Laura Bauer, a Nutrition faculty member, to teach students in introductory Nutrition classes information evaluation skills. The instructor's assignment originally asked the class of non-science major students to find a recipe online that met a personal nutrition goal based on current recommendations. The assignment evolved for a class of pre-health science students into an evaluative assignment where students were asked to research a fad diet online and compare those findings with the scholarly literature, all while considering diet culture through a social justice lens. The Status Of Scholarly Efforts Of Librarians In Health Literacy: A Bibliometric Analysis, Alexandria Wilson, Courtney Wombles, R. Eric Heidel, Kelsey Grabeel

Objective: In order to determine the status of scholarly efforts on health literacy by librarians, researchers examined the characteristics of health literacy publications authored by librarians from 2000 to 2020.
Methods: Bibliometrics were used to assess the productivity, affiliations, collaboration, and citation metrics of librarians in health literacy-related research. Data were collected using the Scopus database and articles were screened for inclusion in Rayyan software before importation into Microsoft Excel for analysis. SPSS statistical software used to run basic descriptive statistics.

This paper aimed to examine the digitalization of academic libraries in higher education institutions during the COVID-19 pandemic. As the current pandemic named the COVID-19 outbreak affected all the educational institutions in the global south and global north and Pakistan has no exemption. For this study, a quantitative stud design was opted to conduct an online survey from the library patrons. A sample of 1052 library users had been selected from public sector universities from Pakistan. Objective: This poster discusses library collaboration with a community center to promote health as a profession and promote health information literacy in the African American community.
Methods: Library staff reached out to a local community center with the intention of introducing the health professions to students in the community. The library scheduled medical, pharmacy and physical therapy students to do unique classes for different ages of children. During Spring 2021, a team of librarians and eight student interns conducted a diversity, equity, and inclusion audit of our institution’s print and ebook collection in order to examine the voices and subjects represented and to reveal diversity shortcomings. Students assisted in determining the methodology, assessing print and ebook collections, and providing recommendations on closing identified collection gaps. Librarians and students met semi-monthly to check in on the progress of the project and to discuss an article related to DEI in libraries and publishing.

They gain knowledge through using their smartphone to access a multitude of material on the Internet; thus, knowing how to use smartphones for information access is critical. During 2020-21 two business faculty from different institutions together with OER librarians, undergraduate students, and graduate assistants conspired to create a faculty-access-only test bank aligned to senior undergraduate-level open textbook, Strategic Management (2020) and AACSB Standards. Test bank development followed instructional and ethical practices for non-disposable assignments including faculty development of assignments, student ownership of student work, student “opt in” to go public, choice of no or some student attribution, financial incentives for various project participants, project MOUs, professional copyediting, and public release to vetted requestors. Because of the easy accessibility, low cost and effective presentation with multimedia tools, e-resources have become the most popular source of information. The present research focuses on the usage statistics of e-resources during the pandemic period lockdown and restricts its scope to Chandigarh University Library. The study correlated the Information needs of Members of Vigilante to other Information activities in Adamawa state, North-eastern Nigeria. Quantitative research methodology and Cross-sectional survey design was applied for the study. The population comprised of One Thousand Four Hundred Members (1400) drawn from Nineteen (19) local governments areas in the state.
