Read and Publish is also known as a transformative agreement, it is an open access (OA) model that bundles payment for reading access and payment for publishing into a single contract.

Teaching in Clinics is one of the open access, peer-reviewed online academic journals published semiannually in the Digital Commons@TMC. The journal aims to encourage researchers and educators to share their studies for implementing novel teaching methods. In addition to excellence of teaching, Teaching in Clinics seeks to bring academic discussions of the incoming or present challenges in health and education policies. The most recent issue launched late last month.

The BYU Library's cross-divisional Digital Content Exploratory Committee examined the extant personnel, systems, and workflows allocated to the care of a wide range of digital content types stewarded by the library (examples: digitized master and access derivative files, born-digital manuscript materials, born-digital scholarly materials, web archives, data, etc.). We compared our problems, standards, and staffing structures to the field at large through a literature review and an environmental scan. Objective

This study collected and analyzed data on the required and recommended textbooks and board exam prep resources in academic health sciences libraries that serve accredited colleges of osteopathic medicine (COM) programs in the United States.

Methods

The study consisted of locating, compiling, and analyzing data on the required and recommended texts and board exam prep resources through the COM libraries’ public-facing websites.

Results

The investigators compiled the required or recommended texts and the board exam prep resources used within the COM curricula from 38 COM libraries.

Conclusion

The study results provide information for medical school administrators, especially within the …

Archivists at the McGovern Historical Center, recently published a guide to the audiovisual items found in the Hermann Hospital Historical Archive. Nearly 200 audio recordings, approximately 250 videos, and 46 reels of film are now described item-by-item and can be searched or browsed by title online.

This study aims to explore and evaluate key indicators of scientific behavior in the research domain concerning the intersection of open innovation and concepts of knowledge transfer in libraries. Through bibliometric and network analysis, the study seeks to unravel the joint scientific trajectory of these domains. This study discusses the Policy Implementation of ANRI Regulation 6/2021 on The Archives Functions of the Secretariat of the Directorate General of Ministry X RI by using the concept of policy implementation George C. Edward III, namely communication, resources, disposition, and bureaucratic structure. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. This study concludes that implementing the ANRI 6/2021 regulation at the Secretariat of the Directorate General still needs to improve or is not optimal in every influencing factor. In 1986, when IMSA first opened its doors to students, Plato, NovaNET, MacIntosh Plus and the Dat. Lab, even track paper all played an essential role in connecting IMSA to the emerging digital world. IMSA’s library, for example, boasted digital technology on par with the Ivy League university libraries. Like the rest of the world, IMSA has continued to expand and update its use of digital technologies, and as we move towards AI, this exhibit celebrates computing in our early days.

Digitizing Medical Illustrations From The Heart Bulletin + The Role Of Art In The Medical Field, Johana Canales

The Houston-based Medical Arts Publishing Foundation produced illustrated medical publications like the Cancer Bulletin, Heart Bulletin, and Psychiatric Bulletin. The Foundation’s records began arriving at the McGovern Historical Center in 1992. Since then, some of the collection’s medical illustrations had already been digitized, including several complete issues of the Psychiatric Bulletin from 1950-1960 and the Heart Bulletin’s medical illustrations series from 1951 and 1964.

Almost two hundred items from the Murdina MacFarquhar Desmond, MD papers have been digitized and are now available online. Dr. Desmond (1916-2003) contributed to the fields of pediatrics and neonatology during her long tenure (1948-1986) on the pediatrics faculty of Baylor College of Medicine and service to Jefferson Davis Hospital and Texas Children’s Hospital.
