Universities faced a variety of options regarding COVID-19 preparations and enforcement rules in the fall 2020 and spring 2021 semesters. Libraries were on the front line as they provided computer labs, wi-fi, study spaces, and academic resources. The Angelo and Jennette Volpe Library at Tennessee Tech University made major changes as part of a campus-wide mobilization to provide face to face classes and services during the COVID-19 pandemic. Staff installed dozens of signs, stored away hundreds of chairs, and recorded new public address announcements. When disaster hits and space is at a premium or when other offices need or want space, eyes often turn towards the library. After a tornado hit the campus and their building was devastated, the University’s Library became the home to one academic unit’s classes. Additionally, after a new division was created, the Library once again lost space. This case study explores that academic library’s experience with both situations and the work the library staff completed to prepare the spaces for non-library entities to move into the building.

The study was initiated to understand the impact of public library services on the people of the Tirunelveli district. The public library is a system that provides access to knowledge, information, and works of imagination through a range of resources and services and is equally available to all members of the community regardless of race, nationality, age, gender, religion, language, disability, economic and employment status, and educational attainment. The researcher selected 200 persons randomly from Palayamkottai and Melapalayam, distributed the questionnaires personally, and received 182 fully completed questionnaires from the respondents. The roots of modern American history curriculum can be traced back to ubiquitous stories that are intimately tied to a constructed national identity. This article presents useful clues for British law librarians and legal researchers conducting research on American laws and legal systems. It focuses on general guidelines and key sticking points the author found when transitioning between legal research in the American and British jurisdictions.

Key skills introduced include the ability to:

• differentiate between federal and state legal jurisdictions in the U.S.,
• recognize key differences in American legal terminology and construct searches using American terms,
• analyze and select key American legal resources for different types of research questions,
• and identify American standards of legal citation.
