Last month, I posted to this blog the results of my study comparing the salaries of tenure-track law professors and law librarians who teach required, credit-bearing classes. The reaction was overwhelming; clearly, the proof that law librarians were underpaid – something many librarians had assumed for many years – hit a chord within the profession. This presentation will share knowledge graphs and other Linked Open Data (LOD) visualization the author created or helped in creating for a few projects, including people in the Pemberton Correspondence Collection, WikiProject: Chinese Female Poets, and UCF Teachers & Researchers. It will also cover the current state of LOD in Ex Libris’ library services platform Alma. The purpose of this talk is to help our cataloging folks better understand LOD and be better prepared for the upcoming changes related to LOD in our library system.

Factors Influencing Library Use By Students With Disabilities In Zimbabwe: The Case Of United College Of Education (Uce), Makhosazana Ndiweni, Takawira Machimbidza, Stephen Mutula

The study investigated the factors that influence library usage by students with disabilities at United College of Education in Zimbabwe. The study employed a qualitative approach. Interviews were held with sixteen students with disabilities, the chief librarian, two library assistants, and one library intern. Data were also collected through observations. Results reveal that great effort has been made to provide inclusive library services to students with disabilities; however, challenges remain. These include: physical inaccessibility of the library to students living with disabilities, lack of infrastructure to support available assistive technologies, information resources that do not accommodate students living with disabilities, …

Purpose: This study examined the research productivity of library automation from 2015-to 2020. The study's objectives were to access the publications based on various parameters such as year-wise distribution, authorship pattern, the total count of citations, most cited publications and the most prolific authors.

Methodology: The bibliometric method was applied in the study to analyze the characteristics and trends of papers published on library automation during the years 2015-2020. The data for the study was extracted from Google Scholar by using the bibliometric analysis software “Publish or Perish” and was further analyzed with MS Excel 365.

In today’s world of work, employees are expected to show resilience behaviour as the workplace is constantly changing and unpredictable. Therefore, this study was designed to examine the resilience of public library employees at their workplace. A self-administered questionnaire was distributed to all public library staff members in the Eastern Province of Sri Lanka. The study enlisted the participation of 340 staff members from 143 public libraries in the Eastern Province. Employee resilience was measured using Employee Resilience (EmpRes) scale developed by Näswall et al. in 2015. Purpose

This study aimed to investigate the interest and use of WhatsApp technology among the library users of National Defence University Pakistan.

Design/methodology/approach

A questionnaire in google forms was created shared with the students of five departments of National Defence University Pakistan via email. The data were tabulated and analyzed using SPSS 22 for this paper.

Personnel commitment to their organisations on an emotional, normative, and long-term basis is crucial to achieving organisational goals and objectives. Working circumstances for employees in any business, particularly university libraries are crucial to achieving these levels of dedication. The impact of the work environment on the affective, normative, and long-term commitments of library staff in Nigeria's South-West area was investigated in this paper.
