Bibliometric Analysis Of Biotechnology Research In Nigeria, Oladimeji Oladosu, Oladimeji Abimbola, Odejobi Bolaji

The aim of this paper is to quantitatively analyze the volume and publication pattern of research in the field of biotechnology in Nigeria. A bibliometric analysis was carried out on documents related to biotechnology research in Nigeria published from 1988 – 2018 and indexed in SCOPUS database. The analysis results reveal an increase in biotechnology research in Nigeria since 1988, and the University of Ibadan is the most productive institution in terms of publications. The trend of biotechnology research in Nigeria portends growth in the future.

What was life like in the neighborhoods surrounding the University of Dayton campus before students began living in the houses? This question is what we wanted students to imagine and answer when we created an AVIATE opportunity this semester. Beginning with houses at Wyoming and Brown streets and working south, students are researching house addresses from 1920, looking up the residents, and then pinning that information to a Google MyMap.

Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to know the scholarly visibility of science faculty members of Karnataka state universities as reflected in ResearchGate.

Methodology: The list of faculty members working in various universities of Karnataka State was collected from websites of respective universities. The data related to Publications, Reads, Citations, h-index, RG Score, of each faculty members were extracted from ResearchGate profile pages of the faculty members.

Findings: The study revealed that 61.17% of science faculty members have created the RG profile. Among the academics, University of Mysore science faculty members have more citations (23821) and RG score (1016.78). …

The purpose of this paper is to analyse the use of library resources by students and faculty members in selected pharmacy colleges of Karnataka. This study adopted survey method and questionnaire tool used to collect primary data from the respondents. A well-structured questionnaire has been circulated among 691 faculty members and students whereas 686 respondents were responded. Based on the findings, this study recommended that, libraries need to take necessary steps in order to visit users on daily basis; library should attract users to use variety of resources other than books and periodicals. Assessing research activity is important for planning future protective and adaptive policies. The objective of the current study was to assess research activity on Covid-19 Vaccine literature. A Scientometric method was applied using Scopus, Documents on “Covid-19 literature”. The study period was from 1971 to 2020. The search query found 7181 documents in Coronavirus Vaccine literature. Citations from the bibliographies of Andrews University education doctoral dissertations completed in 2013-2017 were analyzed to understand the needs of graduate education students for collection management purposes. The study looked at type, citation age, and availability of the sources cited. The citations from the 31 dissertations were mainly periodicals (47%) and books (37%), with smaller percentages of dissertations, Web sites, and other forms of resources. A majority of the sources had a citation age of less than 20 years. The findings showed a weakness in the book collection, as only 44.54% of book citations were held by the library. In …

The paper aims to present the implementation of the RDA research data policy framework in Slovenian scientific journals within the project RDA Node Slovenia. The activity aimed to implement the practice of data sharing and data citation in Slovenian scientific journals and was based on internationally renowned practices and policies, particularly the Research Data Policy Framework of the RDA Data Policy Standardization and Implementation Interest Group. The investigation explores the three international level journals of Economic Subject namely Global Economic Review, International Review of Applied of Economics and International Economic Journal. 150 references were selected for the investigation and verified, and 92 errors were detected in this paper. Total 65 (54%) References were incorrect. 55% (51) minor and 45% (41) major errors were identified. A systematic policy for reference accuracy was implemented in all the three economic journals by editorial board.

Abstract

The present study applies the citation analysis method to analyze Library and Information Science (LIS) doctoral theses submitted to Manipur University during 1989-2017. A total of 2,725 citations appended to 27 LIS doctoral theses examined for bibliographic forms, authorship pattern, and their collaboration level, chronological-wise distribution, the applicability of Bradford's law, rank-wise list, core journal list, country-wise list. The study finds that journals are the most cited resources, followed by books. Single-authored works are found dominant in both journal and book citations.
