Collection Development For Graphic Novels In Academic Libraries: Results Of A National Survey, Stephen Finlay

A survey on collection development for graphic novels was sent to 632 collection development librarians and also placed on the Association for Library Collections and Technical Services listserv. Once 200 responses had been received analysis of results began. Findings indicate that while all libraries reported possessing at least some graphic novels and most reported having what they would call a “graphic novel collection,” the medium is still quite uncommon when compared to existing library collections, comprising less than 1% of all books in academic libraries. Aim of the study: This study aimed to collect the figure of documents published in ten journals on the subject of Law indexed in the Scopus-Elsevier database and citations.

Methods/Approaches: The study's data acquired from the Scopus-Elsevier database with enrolled International standard Serial Number (ISSN) as default in the searching menu, and downloaded comma-separated value (CSV) file for calculating the results.

An attempt is made to examine the authorship distribution in Synthetic Biology (SB) literature and to validate Lotka's law of author productivity. Authors obtained data for this study from the WOS database. A total of 12012 papers with 33151 unique authors has identified , and used for further analysis. Authors calculated the exponents "n" and "c". Researchers employed Kolmogorov-Smirnov (K-S) test of goodness-of-fit to verify the validity of Lotka's Law in SB literature. Introduction. This study was designed to investigate the awareness level, perception, and the adherence of record managers in the University of Ibadan to the provisions of the Nigerian Freedom of Information Law in relation to stages of records management practice.

Method. Survey design was adopted. The population comprised of 705 records managers and 255 were selected as sample. Data were collected using questionnaire and interview schedule and thereafter analysed using frequency distribution and percentage tables. Using the Science Citation Index-Expanded of the Web of Science Core Collection, we analyzed global saffron research literature published between 1991 and 2017. The variables examined were research performance of nations, institutions, and authors. The study noted that the distribution of author keywords, citations, and publication patterns of saffron related articles to ascertain the research inclinations. The highly cited articles and author keyword analysis showed that the chemical and biochemical qualities of saffron were of key interest for the researchers.
