Reflections On A Lifetime Of Reading, Frederick W. Guyette Mr.
South Carolina Libraries
Here I give an account of my life as a reader. The first books I remember enjoying are those that were read aloud on Captain Kangaroo, such as Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel, The Story about Ping, and Stone Soup. When I was a little older, in school we learned about science and current events from the stories in Weekly Reader. This was followed by an interest in baseball and the sports page in the local newspaper. In high school, I was more interested in films than books, but “visual literacy” has it place in life, …

Finding Aids
This collection documents the development of the Park Avenue Hospital in Rochester, NY, its relocation from downtown Rochester to the suburb of Greece (where it was renamed Park Ridge Hospital), its growth there, and its subsequent merger with St. Mary’s Hospital to create the Unity Health System. The Status Of Women In Stem In Higher Education: A Review Of The Literature 2007–2017, Heidi Blackburn
The Status Of Women In Stem In Higher Education: A Review Of The Literature 2007–2017, Heidi Blackburn
Criss Library Faculty Publications
Increased efforts to diversify science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education in the United States have drastically increased the number of studies offering insight into the experiences of women in STEM programs in higher education. This paper presents a thematic review of the literature regarding their status from 2007 to 2017 including journals, trade magazines, theses, and dissertations. It focuses on areas of recruitment, retention, barriers, and faculty issues. Stereotypes, biases, campus culture, classroom experiences, identity, and sense of belonging are also explored. The author additionally identifies gaps and suggests related areas for new research as well as implications for …

Crashapp™ –Concurrent Multiple Stakeholder Evaluation Of A Dsr Artefact, Timothy M. Papp
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
The successful design, implementation, deployment, and use of mobile software applications is rare. While many mobile apps are developed, few succeed. This design science research project builds and evaluates CrashApp™, a mobile application that connects lawyers and clients before, during, and after car accidents. The effective, widespread use of this app depends on satisfying the needs of three groups of stakeholders – the end-users (clients), the owners (lawyers), and the software developers. The research objective is to investigate the key differences among the three stakeholder groups on evaluation criteria for mobile app success. Evaluation strategies and methods are selected to …

The Anchor: 2017
The Anchor began in 1887 and was first issued weekly in 1914. Covering national and campus news alike, Hope College’s student-run newspaper has grown over the years to encompass over two-dozen editors, reporters, and staff. For much of The Anchor's history, the latest issue was distributed across campus each Wednesday throughout the academic school year (with few exceptions). In recent years The Anchor moved to monthly print issues and a more frequently updated website. The Anchor is now published in print twice per academic semester. Occasionally, the volume and/or issue numbering is irregular.

What We Stand To Gain: Librarians Leading Collaborative Assignment Design, Kacy Lundstrom, Rachel Wishkoski, Erin Davis
Library Faculty & Staff Presentations
One of many shifting areas for academic librarians is their role in the design of research assignments. While many librarians possess both expertise and the desire to engage in assignment design, doing so in practice requires deep collaboration and careful role negotiation with discipline faculty. Faculty, who themselves have varied degrees of formal pedagogical training, may not recognize librarians as teachers with this instructional design expertise. Finding the “collaboration sweet spot” can be difficult to achieve in spite of best intentions (Junisabai, Lowe, & Tagge, 2016). However, librarian participation in creating authentic, scaffolded research opportunities is crucial if we are …

Course instructors are a teaching librarian’s closest partners. This assessment focuses on gathering their responses to the most critical questions anonymously and offers the opportunity to include additional written feedback. If you’re not doing any assessment presently, this might be a good method to get responses in a quantifiable format, and it creates a medium for fellow educators to offer suggestions for improvement.
