This thesis interprets the intersection of history, ecology, and politics through two contemporary Anatolian films: Nuri Bilge Ceylan’s About Dry Grasses and Murat Fıratoğlu’s One of These Days When Hemme Dies. We focus on the films’ portrayal of social relations and relationships to other living beings through interpreting the temporal layers and historical tensions present in the plots of the films. Despite increasing interest in social forestry, limited research has explored the interplay between community capacity and access within Indonesia’s Social Forestry Utilization Permit (IPHPS) scheme. This study examines the relationship between community capacity, access, and socio-economic impacts to inform effective policy implementation. Employing a qualitative case study approach, it focuses on a community granted an IPHPS Decree within the Perum Perhutani Forest Management Unit (KPH) Telawa. The findings identify three key dimensions of community capacity: technical capacity (local knowledge and skills), networking capacity (social capital and relationships), and cultural capacity (local wisdom and practices). Youth and social media are increasingly intertwined, as their socio-cultural trajectories accelerate digital connectedness and intensify the contestation of diverse identities. Posting on social media has thus become a ritualized practice. This article explores how Indonesian university students construct identities by sharing achievement stories and success narratives on Instagram. Using qualitative data, it examines the experiences of students who have excelled in academic competitions. The study identifies two key typologies behind such posts. Rainfall Distribution Along Coastal Guyana, 1901-1980, Robert Ramraj

Data over an 80-year period from Georgetown, Guyana were analyzed to determine rainfall patterns along the coastal plain. Data revealed that two distinct wet and two dry seasons occur annually and that a high probability exists that annual rainfall almost never surpasses nor lags behind that of the previous year for more than two consecutive years. Additionally, it is concluded that rainfall was heavier during 1941-1980 than during the previous 40 years, and that interannual and interdecadal variability existed during the study period . Responding to a shortage in local shelter space and a preference for alternative forms of shelter, homeless people in Lane County, Oregon, took shelter unlawfully at the Armitage Homeless Camp (AHC). This paper examines the residents' sense of place, concepts of home, and perceptions of the camp in an attempt to gauge the meaning and value of AHC from the perspective of urban campers. Data were collected from November to May, 1993, through participant observation, interviews, and surveys in the forms of questionnaires, cognitive mapping, and selfdirected photography. The COVID-19 pandemic exposed and exacerbated the vulnerabilities of migrants and refugees in secondary cities in Canada, where the restrictive food environment and limited resources heightened challenges related to food security. This study investigates how the intersectionality of immobility, gender, and food insecurity shaped the lived experiences of recently resettled Syrian, Somali and Afghanistan refugees in the Waterloo Region, Canada, during the pandemic. The Great Salt Lake reached the lowest water volume in its entire 170+ year record in 2022. To explain this record low we develop and apply a lake mass‐balance model and perform four simulations: one where all input and output variables are fixed to their mid‐20th century average resulting in an equilibrium lake volume, and three others where one of the input variables (precipitation or streamflow) or the output variable (evaporation) follows observations while the other two are fixed to their mid‐20th century average.
