There is persistent debate between theoretical and empirical findings on the impact of redenomination on economic performance. Hence, this study aims to analyze the impacts of inflation, economic growth, reducing reducing digit (zero number), and stages of redenomination to changes in transaction prices and the number of the transactions using experimental methods. The result showed redenomination could decrease the transaction prices and transaction value. The best conditions to applied redenomination policy was directly in low inflation and high growth.

The objectives of this article are (1) to analyze the influence of socio economic characteristics in influencing patterns of food consumption by HDI and (2) Analyze demand responses (elasticity) of East Java household to food prices and income changes. Linear Approximation Almost Ideal Demand System (LA/AIDS) and elasticity are used to answer the objectives by using microdata Susenas 2016. The result indicates that generally, socio economic characteristics contribute substantially in determining household food consumption patterns and based on their elasticity values, food commodities in East Java are price inelastic and more responsive to income changes.

This paper examines the effect of financial liberalization on growth volatility of macroeconomics variable using dynamic panel model for nineteen Asia-Pacific countries for period of 1976–2015. Our results showed that the benefit of financial liberalization in Asia-Pacific region caused by the low volatility of the macroeconomic growth only occur in the group of developed countries, and not occur in the group of developing countries. This proved that the existence of financial liberalization provides no full beneficial effects in Asia-Pacific region.

The Financial Services Authority regulation No.46/POJK.03/2015 states that the calculation of Systemic Important Score (SIS) of a bank uses the same weighting for all three indicators: size, interconnectedness, and complexity. It disowns the possibility that one those indicators may give more contribution in determining the data structure of SIS assessment component than the others. This study aims to determine the phenomenon of flypaper effect of regionally spending in Sulawesi. Types of data use secondary data about regionally original income, general allocation fund, special allocation fund, tax-sharing fund, and regionally spending in 2016–2017. Data analysis using panel data regression analysis. Result of research, found flypaper effect of regional spending from special allocation fund, whereas from general allocation fund and tax-sharing fund is not found. This study also proves that regionally spending, general allocation fund, special allocation fund, and tax-sharing fund have a significant influence on regionally spending in Sulawesi.

The objectives of this article is to analyze the competitiveness of Indonesias processed cocoa export to nine destination countries and to investigate the determinants of export volumes of Indonesias cocoa. Two analysis is conducted using revealed comparative advantage (RCA) and panel data regression. The result indicates that Indonesian processed cocoa has a high comparative advantage in Spain, while in Singapore has a comparative advantage at worst. The panel data regression estimates showed that GDP, population, RCA, and tax policy was statistically significant and had positive effect to cocoa export volumes but the price of processed cocoa had negative effect.

This study aimed to analyze the impact of modern retail coexistence with traditional retail on traditional retail’s performance. Our observation is the 153 markets PD Pasar Jaya spread across DKI Jakarta and the modern retails (minimarkets, supermarkets, hypermarkets) location based on the retail zoning policy of Jakarta Regional Regulation No. 2/2002. This study used number of traditional retailers as a proxy of performance variable. The regression results indicate a non linear relationship between the number of modern retails–especially supermarket–and traditional retails performance in which the coexistence of one supermarket is positive for traditional market performance and negative afterwards.

This study contributes to the existing literature of oil industries in Indonesia by examining fuel supply and consumption in Indonesia. The objectives of this research were to predict fuel supply and consumption in Indonesia in the future. The model formed in this research was system dynamic. The simulation result showed that until 2016, fuel oil supply can meet the fuel oil consumption. From 2017 to 2025, fuel oil supply cannot meet domestic fuel oil consumption. In 2025, fuel oil supply is estimated up to 651.092 million barrel and fuel oil consumption is up to 719.048 million barrel.

This study traces the evolution of return to education using large samples from Indonesia Family Life Survey (IFLS). This study apply Mincer Model to find rate of return to education. The rate of return to education decrease from 1993 to 2014 in Indonesia. Interestingly, the declining rate for return to education for men is much larger than for women. Return to education is considerably heterogenic across province and gender. Furthermore, the rate of women is larger than men. Finally, this study find potential experience have not different from 1993 to 1997, but have increased in 2000 and 2014.

Controlling food inflation in Indonesia is essential mainly caused by its persistent and relatively significant impact on the poor’s purchasing power compare to other commodities. Thus, the main purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of monetary policy on food inflation stabilization in Indonesia. By utilizing Structural Vector Autoregression, the empirical results provided here show that monetary policy does effectively prevent the spillover effect of food to non-food inflation. In addition to that, the exchange rate may play some role in the longer period to affect the volatility of food inflation.

Revitalization of poverty alleviation programs by promoting non-economic such as social capital becomes important. This study aims to analyze the role of social capital related to the bonding and bridging dimension in promoting poverty alleviation and protecting the poor from vulnerability. Climate variability potentially giving shocks to farmers household. This research aims to identify farmers household vulnerability, identify factors affecting resilience, and identify the adaptation mechanism of farmers household in facing rainfall variability. The analytical methods are descriptive analysis, Livelihood Vulnerability Index, and multiple regression. Results shows that Sidamulya is more vulnerable than Wanasari. Households has low resilience. Factors that affecting resilience are education, earning level, number of years in farming, and dummy other job. Adaptive mechanisms are shifting the planting time, replace and decrease fertilizer, replace seed, and move to another job.

The purpose of this study is to get value-BLI Better Life Index as a measure of multidimensional development in Indonesia, and to analyze the relationship between BLI with the human development index HDI, regional development index IPR, and economic growth. Traffic accident ranks the ninth largest of the cause of death in Indonesia. The most of researches studying Indonesia on traffic accidents were only blaming on human, motor vehicles, and environment as main culprits, not incorporating economic factors into the models. This study aims to analyze the impact of real gasoline prices on traffic accident in Indonesia and the factors of influence them. Robust measurement of interest rates speed of adjustment to monetary policy changes is very important to obtain a comprehensive understanding on the monetary transmission process and the effectiveness of monetary policy. The speed of adjustment are determined by number of frictions that interfere with the transmission of monetary policy. We measure Indonesia interest rate pass-through which have distinct characteristics in terms of banking competition, segmented banking market and concentrated structure. Interest rate pass-through is measured by using Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) and Mean Adjusted Lags (MAL). This paper shows the interest rate adjustment did take a relatively long time.

Wajib Pajak Dan Generasi Muda: Tax Morale Mahasiswa Di Indonesia, Budi Susila, Partomuan T. Juniult, Asrul Hidayat

This paper is aimed to investigate the level of tax morale on Indonesia college students regarding fulfillment of tax obligations as an indication of their characteristics as future taxpayers and the factors behind their tax morale. This research exercised a survey method with respondents from the University of Indonesia chosen with a random sampling technique. The results indicated that the level of tax morale on Indonesia college students is relatively good. As for the variables that influenced the tax morale are gender, religious observance, and the perception of the importance of the government.
