This paper explores the idea that Adlai Stevenson was a more significant member of the Executive Committee of the National Security Council and voice for peace than given credit for. It includes the betrayal of Stevenson by JFK during the Bay of Pigs fiasco and how many members of the Kennedy administration felt Stevenson was too naive and weak to be an ambassador to the United Nations during the Cold War. This papers seeks to prove that without Adlai Stevenson the Cuban Missile Crisis would have ended horrifically rather than peacefully.

Greenwashing, the act of making unsubstantiated claims about the environmental friendliness of products, is becoming more popular amongst unsustainable corporations. Past research shows that companies are using specific techniques to deceive consumers. By conducting a content analysis of five corporate Instagram accounts from companies with past greenwashing allegations, this research used four main criteria to categorize greenwashed posts: color palette recurrent language, pleasant nature imagery, and vague appeals. การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาสถานการณ์ภาวะสุขภาพจิตของประชากรไทย และปัจจัยระดับบุคคลและระดับชุมชนที่มีความสัมพันธ์กับการมีสุขภาพจิตที่ดีของประชากรไทย การวิจัยใช้ข้อมูลทุติยภูมิจากโครงการการสำรวจสภาวะทางสังคม วัฒนธรรม และสุขภาพจิต พ.ศ.2561 จัดเก็บโดยสำนักงานสถิติแห่งชาติ ซึ่งเป็นการสำรวจระดับประเทศที่เก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลจากประชากรที่มีอายุตั้งแต่ 15 ปีขึ้นไป การวิเคราะห์คัดเลือกเฉพาะตัวอย่างที่ตอบคำถามในประเด็นที่เกี่ยวกับสุขภาพจิตด้วยตนเอง รวมจำนวนทั้งสิ้น 27,147 ราย อาศัยอยู่ใน 1,989 ชุมชน การวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลใช้สถิติเชิงพรรณนาและ การวิเคราะห์พหุระดับแบบโลจิสติกแบบทวิผลการศึกษาพบว่า ประชากรไทยที่มีอายุ 15 ปีขึ้นไปเกือบร้อยละ 80 เป็นผู้ที่มีภาวะสุขภาพจิตดี ตามเกณฑ์วัดสุขภาพจิตของคนไทยฉบับสั้น (Thai Mental Health Indicator-15: TMHI-15) ตัวแปรระดับบุคคล ได้แก่ เพศ อายุ ระดับการศึกษา สถานภาพสมรส สถานภาพการทำงาน จำนวนสมาชิกในครัวเรือน สถานะทางเศรษฐกิจและสังคมของครัวเรือน ความสัมพันธ์และความผูกพันภายในครัวเรือน การรับรู้สุขภาพกายของตนเอง ความเชื่อตามหลักคำสอนทางศาสนา การปฏิบัติตนตามหลักศาสนา และคุณธรรมในการมีปฏิสัมพันธ์กับบุคคลอื่น มีความสัมพันธ์อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติกับการมีสุขภาพจิตที่ดีของประชากรไทย ในระดับชุมชน พบว่า สัดส่วนของประชากรที่มีภาวะสุขภาพจิตดีในชุมชน และค่าเฉลี่ยสถานะทางเศรษฐกิจและสังคมของครัวเรือนในชุมชนมีความสัมพันธ์อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติกับการมีสุขภาพจิตที่ดีของประชากรไทย การศึกษาครั้งนี้ชี้ให้เห็นถึงความไม่เท่าเทียมกันทางด้านสุขภาพจิตของประชากรในกลุ่มต่าง ๆ และแนวทางในการส่งเสริมภาวะสุขภาพจิตของประชากรผ่านปัจจัยทางสังคมและสภาพแวดล้อมของครัวเรือนและชุมชน

This study examines the impact of consumer perceptions of corporate social responsibility (CSR) on brand image and brand loyalty, focusing on True Corporation in Thailand. Data were collected from 204 respondents aged 18 to 54 through an online questionnaire. The findings reveal that True Corporation has established a comprehensive CSR image encompassing customer-oriented, economic-oriented, and community-oriented dimensions. Additionally, consumer perceptions of CSR significantly influence both brand image and brand loyalty.

Global Value Chains (GVCs) offer opportunities for lower-middle-income countries (LMICs) in the agri-food sector by integrating local economies into the global market and enhancing economic growth. This study aims to examine the impact of GVC participation on employment in the agri-food industry of LMICs. A fixed effect model is employed on a panel data set of nine lower-middle-income countries across 2005-2019. The results indicate that GVC participation, both backward (involving imported intermediate inputs) and forward (where domestic inputs are used in the production of exports), has a significant negative effect on employment. งานวิจัยเชิงปริมาณนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างปัจจัยส่วนบุคคลกับระดับ ความผูกพันต่อองค์กร และเพื่อศึกษาอิทธิพลของการรับรู้บรรยากาศองค์กรต่อระดับความผูกพันต่อองค์กร ของข้าราชการ สังกัดสำนักงานสถิติแห่งชาติ (ส่วนกลาง) โดยจำแนกบรรยากาศองค์กรออกเป็น 6 ด้าน ได้แก่ ด้านโครงสร้างองค์กรและมาตรฐานการปฏิบัติงาน ด้านการติดต่อสื่อสารภายในองค์กร ด้านการมีส่วนร่วม ในการตัดสินใจ ด้านการใส่ใจต่อพนักงาน ด้านการใช้อำนาจและอิทธิพลในองค์กร และด้านการสร้างแรงจูงใจ ในการทำงาน โดยใช้การเก็บข้อมูลในรูปแบบของแบบสอบถาม จากกลุ่มตัวอย่างจำนวน 193 คน มีระยะเวลา ในการปฏิบัติงานภายในสำนักงานสถิติแห่งชาติ 1 ปีขึ้นไป โดยใช้วิธีการสุ่มตัวอย่างแบบบังเอิญ จากนั้นจึงนำข้อมูลที่ได้มาประมวลผลผ่านโปรแกรมสำเร็จรูปทางสถิติ SPSS ในส่วนของผลการวิเคราะห์สถิติเชิงพรรณนาพบว่าการรับรู้บรรยากาศองค์กรโดยรวมอยู่ในระดับดี และระดับความผูกพันต่อองค์กรโดยรวมอยู่ในระดับมาก ทั้งนี้ในส่วนของผลการวิเคราะห์การถดถอยเชิงพหุคูณพบว่า ปัจจัยส่วนบุคคลด้านเพศ อายุ และอายุงาน ส่งผลต่อความผูกพันต่อองค์กรอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ กล่าวคือเพศชายมีความผูกพันต่อองค์กรมากที่สุด รองลงมาคือเพศหญิง และ LGBTQ+ ตามลำดับ ในขณะเดียวกันเมื่ออายุและอายุงานมากขึ้น ก็มีส่วนส่งผล ให้เกิดความผูกพันต่อองค์กรมากขึ้นเช่นกัน นอกจากนี้ผลการศึกษายังแสดงให้เห็นว่าบรรยากาศองค์กรภาพรวม มีอิทธิพลเชิงบวกต่อความผูกพันต่อองค์กรอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ อย่างไรก็ตามเมื่อวิเคราะห์บรรยากาศองค์กรแยกเป็นรายด้านพบว่า มีเพียงด้านการใส่ใจต่อพนักงาน และด้านโครงสร้างองค์กรและมาตรฐานการปฏิบัติงาน ที่ส่งผลต่อความผูกพันต่อองค์กรอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ ดังนั้นองค์กรจึงควรให้ความสำคัญในการส่งเสริมบรรยากาศองค์กรที่ดีในการทำงาน อีกทั้งคำนึงถึงปัจจัยส่วนบุคคลที่มีความหลากหลาย เพื่อให้บุคลากรเกิดความผูกพันต่อองค์กรมากขึ้น

Perceptions of intergroup threat correlate with prejudice against Black Americans (Iyer, 2022). This study explores the impact of this migration on women's postpartum experiences, including factors such as emotional support, financial strain, and childcare responsibilities. Firearms violence results in hundreds of thousands of criminal investigations each year. To try to identify a culprit, firearms examiners seek to link fired shell casings or bullets from crime scene evidence to a particular firearm. The underlying assumption is that firearms impart unique marks on bullets and cartridge cases, and that trained examiners can identify these marks to determine which were fired by the same gun. For over a hundred years, firearms examiners have testified that they can conclusively identify the source of a bullet or cartridge case. This paper examines state level lobbying data to determine how budgeting affects the timing, intensity and composition of lobbying expenditures. Using a database of all available lobbying expenditures in the U.S. states ranging up to 25  years, the paper shows interest group lobbying increases substantially during the budgeting process, and the budgeting process is unlike other issues lobbyists face. Spikes in lobbying during budgeting are driven primarily by business groups, and these business groups account for most of the changes on the margin in lobbying activity. Apolipoprotein (APOE) ɛ4 positivity and subjective cognitive decline (SCD) both increase risk of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) development. However, few studies have examined the relationship between SCD and APOE status, especially using longitudinal data. The current study examined whether APOE is associated with the rate of cognitive change in SCD and mild cognitive impairment (MCI).

This study aimed to explore pediatric dentists' perspectives on obesity-related interventions for parents of young children. A web-based survey was administered to 210 American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry members. Findings revealed that respondents considered it important for various healthcare professionals, especially pediatricians and nurse practitioners, to engage in obesity-related parent education. Strong consensus existed on educating parents about the link between early childhood caries and diet, soft drink and fruit juice consumption, and healthy snacking. The study also found positive attitudes correlated with increased engagement in objective weight determination, data collection, and diet/nutrition counseling.

Background: Manganese (Mn) is a metal commonly found in drinking water, but the level that is safe for consumption is unknown. In the United States (U.S.), Mn is not regulated in drinking water and data on water Mn concentrations are temporally and spatially sparse. Objective: Examine temporal and spatial variability of Mn concentrations in repeated tap water samples in a case study of Holliston, Massachusetts (MA), U.S., where drinking water is pumped from shallow aquifers that are vulnerable to Mn contamination. This paper presents new methods to analyze a category’s change through a time series of maps, even when the time intervals have inconsistent durations. The methods include an option to facilitate comparison among sites by expressing results as an annual percentage of each site’s unified size. A site’s unified size is the union of where the category exists at any of the site’s time points. We review the often-invisible powerful processes that drive social and ecological change in Amazonia, and the diverse peoples who inhabit its landscapes. It explores large-scale development ideologies of modernization, and the policy tools that were deployed to carry them out. This paper considers how racialized youth in Denmark negotiate sustainability amid contexts marked by intersecting forms of economic restructuring, progressive neoliberalism, white ethno-nationalism, and green urban planning. Urbanplan is a low-income, notoriously “troubled” Copenhagen neighborhood where we conducted fieldwork for 7 months (2019-2020) with fifteen male youth, aged 17-21. Using ethnography, policy reviews, and interviews with city social workers, we explore how intimate experiences of nature, group-identity, and place attachment here relate to and depart from the structural forces actively reshaping the neighborhood.
