Journalism
This research is an analysis of visual, operational, informational, fundraising, and merchandising content of World Wide Web sites of 13 leading renewalist Christian ministries. Renewalist Christians espouse a “Health and Wealth” theology that is embraced by increasing numbers of believers worldwide. A content analysis, coupled with the application of media framing and constant comparative analysis allowed for quantitative and qualitative findings. Visual and operational content was found to be oriented mostly toward communication, while informational content was oriented mostly toward evangelization. Most renewalist sites eschewed traditional Christian symbolism and emphasized positive themes and “can do” encouragement. Fundraising and product sales …

The Anchor, Volume 121.22: April 23, 2008, Hope College
The Anchor: 2008
The Anchor began in 1887 and was first issued weekly in 1914. Covering national and campus news alike, Hope College’s student-run newspaper has grown over the years to encompass over two-dozen editors, reporters, and staff. For much of The Anchor's history, the latest issue was distributed across campus each Wednesday throughout the academic school year (with few exceptions). In recent years The Anchor moved to monthly print issues and a more frequently updated website. The Anchor is now published in print twice per academic semester. Occasionally, the volume and/or issue numbering is irregular.

Potential Economic Impact Of Drought On Rafting Activity, Prabhakar Shrestha, Karina Schoengold
Cornhusker Economics
As part of a research project with the National Drought Mitigation Center, we have been studying the impact of drought on the Colorado rafting industry. During our research we conducted personal interviews with seven outfitters operating in the Upper Arkansas River and Colorado Department of Natural Resources officials, represented by the Arkansas Headwaters Recreational Area (AHRA). The customer distribution for this river for the last twenty-year period is shown in Figure 1 (on next page). Compared to previous seasons, the 2002 season had a dramatic decrease in the total number of customers. This season was impacted due to several factors, …

Organization As A Management Variable: A Survey Of Nigerian University Libraries In The South South Zone, Ima M.P. Usoro
Library Philosophy and Practice (e-journal)
This research examined the influence of the management variable of organizing on availability of information sources in the four Federal University Libraries in the south-south zone of Nigeria. The sample consisted of all academic librarians in the university libraries under study. One null hypothesis was formulated and tested. The instrument used to collect data for this study was a validated questionnaire. The data collected were analyzed using percentages, chi-square, and contingency correlation co-efficient. The result revealed that the management variable of organizing influenced availability of information sources in the university libraries since the calculated chi-square was greater than the critical …
The Effect Of Personal Characteristics On The Use Of Information Sources By Social Science Researchers At The University Of Nigeria, Nsukka, C.I. Ugwu
Library Philosophy and Practice (e-journal)
A study of the effect of some personal characteristics on the use of information sources by social science researchers was conducted at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Forty lecturers were surveyed using a questionnaire. Three hypotheses were evaluated through the analysis of variance and F-statistic. Multiple comparison of item means as well as group means was conducted using Scheffé's test. The results show that position and education are good predictors of information use while professional experience has little power in explaining variations in information source use. The findings of the study support the notion that information source use is a …
