This report provides estimates of the potential fiscal impact of the Davenport Promise on the City of Davenport and the Davenport Public Schools under several alternative scenarios.

Serials Processing Activities In Southern Nigerian University Libraries, Benson E. Edoka, Chinwe V. Anunobi

Library Philosophy and Practice (e-journal)

A survey was conducted in the thirteen federal university libraries in southern Nigeria to determine serials processing activities and the problems which hinder effective serials processing. A questionnaire was distributed to 65 purposively selected serials staff from the libraries. Forty-eight (82.75%) of the returned questionnaires were found usable. The average of 50% and 2.5 were taken as positive bench-mark for dichotomous and Likert point scale items on the instrument respectively. The result shows that serials processing activities in southern Nigerian federal universities libraries include collation, stamping, recording, cataloguing, classification, and stock taking.Processing activities differ significantly among the libraries in the …

Many people outside of China get their first ideas about the Cultural Revolution from reading memoirs or works of fiction that deal with the years 1966-1969 or the final decade of the Maoist era (1966-1976). This study analytically evaluates the impact of technological change on output and input markets in a competitive industry of identical firms. Firm-level technology and technological change are represented parametrically as local approximations to unknown functional forms. The comparative statics analysis solves for changes in equilibrium market prices and quantities as functions of parameters that characterize technological change. The technology-induced shift in industry supply is shown to equal the rate of technological change plus the share-weighted induced change in input prices. The model provides a consistent and systematic framework for evaluating the impact of technological change, either ex ante or ex …

Hedging can be a valuable tool to minimize price uncertainty for producers. There are two types of hedges producers may use, a short hedge and a long hedge. Short hedges are used to lock in a net selling price when prices are expected to fall, while a long hedge is used to lock in a buying price when prices are expected to rise for a commodity that is bought and used as an input.

The Anchor began in 1887 and was first issued weekly in 1914. Covering national and campus news alike, Hope College’s student-run newspaper has grown over the years to encompass over two-dozen editors, reporters, and staff. For much of The Anchor's history, the latest issue was distributed across campus each Wednesday throughout the academic school year (with few exceptions). In recent years The Anchor moved to monthly print issues and a more frequently updated website. The Anchor is now published in print twice per academic semester. Occasionally, the volume and/or issue numbering is irregular.
