Latin American immigrants will continue to make up a large share of transit ridership, bicycling and walking in the United States for the foreseeable future, but there is relatively little research about them. This mixed-methods study compares the travel patterns of low-income immigrants living in the San Francisco Bay Area with that of other groups and investigates the barriers and constraints faced by low-income immigrants when taking transit and bicycling. Advances In Repurposing And Recycling Of Post-Vehicle-Application Lithium-Ion Batteries, Charles R. Standridge, Lindsay Corneal, Nicholas Baine

Increased electrification of vehicles has increased the use of lithium-ion batteries for energy storage, and raised the issue of what to do with post-vehicle-application batteries. Three possibilities have been identified: 1) remanufacturing for intended reuse in vehicles; 2) repurposing for non-vehicle, stationary storage applications; and 3) recycling, extracting the precious metals, chemicals and other byproducts. Advances in repurposing and recycling are presented, along with a mathematical model that forecasts the manufacturing capacity needed for remanufacturing, repurposing, and recycling. The present study determines the extent of India’s Publication growth in Science and Technology. The data was extracted from the Thomson Reuters’ Web of Science for the period 1989-2014. The study covers a year wise growth of Science and Technology publications; Relative Growth Rate (RGR), Doubling Time (DT), Activity Index (AI) of different countries; international collaboration, productive Indian Institutes, prolific authors in Science and Technology field. The aim of this study was to investigate the information use pattern of final year undergraduate students in North-Central Nigeria. Specifically, five purposes and research questions guided the study. It adopted a descriptive survey design and had a population of 3365 registered undergraduate final year student library users from three selected federal universities. The study used proportionate stratified random sampling technique to sample 200 final years Undergraduate library users. The study investigated if homophily-heterophily consciousness and staff quality, could correlate with effective reference services. The study made use of three objectives, three research questions and four hypotheses. A Study On Perceptions Of Faculty Members On Inforamation Sources Of Libraries Of Engineering Colleges Affiliated To Jntu-Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, India, Srinivasa Raju Chemarthi, Pulla Reddy V, Surendra Babu K

Analysis of data collected from a simple random sample of 1130 faculty members belonging to 37 Engineering colleges affiliated to JNTU-Anantapur using a questionnaire, reveals that most of the faculty members are using textbooks (97.3%), and Internet (85.7%) for their teaching activity. Further, most of the faculty members are using e-journals (80.1%) and Internet (79.0%) for their research activity. Most of the faculty members are satisfied with latest editions of books available (79.8%) and with the multiple copies available for prescribed textbooks in their libraries (75.02%). Most of them (77.3%) are consulting periodicals for their teaching and research work. …
