Authorship Patterns And Collaborative Research In The Journal Of Biofuels, 2010-2016, Kotti Thavamani

Abstract: This article analyzed the various components of the articles published in the Journal of Biofuels from 2010 – 2016. Various quality aspects of the 106 research articles and 376 authors were examined by growth of contributions by year and issue, authorship patterns by year and volume, authorship patterns, author productivity, authorship patterns by global, most prolific contributors and degree of collaboration. The average number of authors per paper is 3.462 and the average productivity per author is 0.288. The average degree of collaboration is 0.933 during the period under study. This study investigates and analyses the positive and negative effects of social media on students’ academic and social lives. With the adoption of survey methodology, 204 students from University of Ghana and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology were randomly selected to participate in this study. The results of this study indicate that the positive effects of social media outweigh its negative counterpart hence, students should not be entirely discouraged from visiting social media sites.

Parental Communication Of Responsiveness And Control As Predictors Of Adolescents' Emotional And Behavioral Resilience In Families With Alcoholic Versus Nonalcoholic Parents, Marie Haverfield, Jennifer Theiss

Interactions between parents and children establish norms for managing emotions and behavior, which are markers of resilience. This study examines how features of interpersonal communication between parents and children facilitate the resilience of children of alcoholic parents versus nonalcoholic parents. Parent–adolescent dyads (30 families of alcoholics, 30 families of nonalcoholics) were invited to participate in two videotaped interactions, which were then rated for parental responsiveness and control and adolescent emotion regulation and behavioral impulsivity. Parental responsiveness was positively associated with emotion regulation, and parental control was negatively associated with emotion regulation and positively associated with impulsivity. This research project will be of interest for community residents, local government, and non-profit organizations in the City of East Palo Alto. The three main objectives for this project are:

  1. Strengthen or establish a relationship between community residents and officials in the City of East Palo Alto.
  2. Provide data for local government officials that will help abate graffiti throughout the city.
  3. Offer recommendations to improve neighborhood safety, sense of security, and appearance in East Palo Alto

The research question for this report is: How can community participation help abate graffiti in the City of East Palo Alto?

A citation analysis study was carried out on the citations appended in the end of History discipline Ph.D. dissertations to ascertain what types of documents are the most frequently used in the research process, the most commonly consulted core journals and obsolescence rate of the journals and books. The study analysed 8488 citations appended in the 36 Ph.D. theses of History discipline submitted to Panjab University, Chandigarh, for the award of doctoral degree during 2002-2012. Do Index Pages Attract Higher Backlinks? : An Analytical Study Of Library Websites, Akhandanand Shukla

The study examines the number of backlinks to the websites of libraries belonging to Central Universities of India. The study has presented seven categories of library webpages based on their features. The study was conducted in five rounds to get the primary data through four selected search engines. Analysis is presented for each search engine separately. Study concludes that index page/home page of library websites attracts more number of backlinks than any other webpages of library websites. Search engine Yahoo Site Explorer retrieved highest number of backlinks for library websites.

Paper studies bibliometric analysis of Indian open access LIS journal for five years from 2011 to 2015. Total 218 published articles were examined and analyzed for distribution of articles, authorship pattern, degree of collaboration, and geographical distribution of articles has been done. Inferences has been drawn from the analysis that journal prevalent two authorship patterns with 0.66 degree of collaboration, India as top most contributor of the articles for the journal and amongst foreign countries Nigeria is the highest contributor. Hyperspectral remote sensing is an innovative technology with applications in many sciences and is a non-destructive method that may offer more precise aging within development stages. Hyperspectral reflectance measurements from the anterior, midsection, and posterior of Lucilia sericata (Meigen) larvae and pupae were conducted daily from samples of the developing insects beginning at second instar. Only midsection measurements were conducted on second instar larvae due to their size, to ensure that the measurement was not of reflective surroundings. The contribution of human capital to the survival of libraries cannot be underestimated, this necessitates their regular training and development for increased performance. The aim of the study was to assess the extent to which human capital development in the Sam Jonah Library improves performance of staff. The qualitative method was used, where interview was used to solicit information from senior management. Six out of the eight senior management members were interviewed.
