Attracting and retaining a diverse, skilled workforce remains one of the most pressing challenges in the transportation industry. A new MTI-led California State University Transportation Consortium report examines why workforce participation gaps persist and identifies practical strategies organizations can implement to address them. Drawing on an extensive literature review, a nationwide industry survey with 996 respondents, and in-depth interviews with 15 transportation professionals, the study highlights both the barriers and the solutions to workforce participation. Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP) is considered an excellent alternative to virgin (raw, unprocessed) materials because it reduces the use of virgin aggregate and binder. Also, the use of RAP decreases the amount of construction waste placed into landfills. In doing so, this administration is withholding publicly-funded information that we have a right to access, including data from government-sponsored research, historical information about marginalized groups, and speech transcripts. In removing these materials, the government is also deliberately sabotaging research related to topics it does not like, such as LGBTQ health, COVID, and climate change.

Conscious Control: A Case Study On Self-Monitoring And Interventions In Maladaptive Daydreaming, Caleb Chan

Maladaptive daydreaming (MD) is a persistent mental activity

characterized by immersive, excessive daydreaming that disrupts daily

life. This study examines the effectiveness of self-regulation strategies

in managing MD, including cognitive techniques, behavioral

adjustments, technology-assisted cues, and environmental

modifications. Using a single-subject ABA design, each intervention

phase lasted one week, with MD episodes tracked through self-reported

diaries and EEG monitoring. The results demonstrated that cognitive

reframing and task switching produced the most sustained reductions in

MD episodes, while technology-assisted cues had diminishing

effectiveness over time due to adaptation. Environmental modifications,

particularly workspace reorganization, con- tributed to long-term

improvements, while lighting adjustments …

While USSE supports decarbonization, it can also cause environmental harm, including biodiversity loss, habitat fragmentation, and land conversion. Past research has found that identity cohesion (how integrated multiple identities are) is a protective factor that moderates the relationship between intersectional microaggressions and mental health outcomes. While fire frequency and intensity are increasing in coast redwood forests, little is known about how this forest type responds to high-intensity wildfires. While prior research has documented how math anxiety can undermine performance and how early experiences with math-typed activities can foster positive attitudes, less is known about how these factors collectively influence students’ math confidence.
