Chinese Students’ Mothers In Thailand: Transnational Education And Migration, Shan Li

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)

This research focuses on Chinese mothers accompanying their children to study in Thailand, exploring their life experiences, identity transformation, and social adaptation within this transnational educational migration phenomenon. A mixed research method (questionnaire survey and interviews) was employed, systematically analyzing data from 151 questionnaires and 13 interviewed mothers. Results show that these accompanying mothers generally possess high levels of education and economic capability, with most abandoning their original professions for their children's education, forming a transnational family structure of husband remaining in China, wife accompanying her child in Thailand. Biomass burning is a major driver of air pollution and climate-related impacts in Thailand, but a national-level synthesis of research efforts is lacking. This study conducts a comprehensive bibliometric and qualitative review of 256 peer-reviewed publications from 1997–2024, using Scopus-indexeddata to explore research trends, thematic patterns, and existing gaps. The analysis reveals a strong emphasis on atmospheric chemistry, air quality modeling, and remote sensing, which collectively account for more than 60% of the research landscape.Studies frequently focus on pollutants such as PM2.5,PAHs, carbon monoxide, and heavy metals, with biomass burning identified as a dominant source, especiallyduring the dry season in …

The biodiversity status measures the ecological capacity of a given area. However, biodiversity assessments in developing countries are limited by the absence of taxonomic data on plants and animals. By developing methods to evaluate biodiversity via alternative data, it is now possible to quantify the ecological carrying capacity in areas where taxonomic data are lacking. The relationship between forest ecosystem health and biodiversity values can be used to estimate biodiversity values by considering the proportions of different land use types that are associated with forest ecosystem abundance. In this work, catalysts of iron and manganese oxides supported on OMS-2 were prepared and applied to remove white spirit (WS) in air. Among the fabricated catalysts, the FeO-MnOx/OMS-2 catalyst with a surface Fe+Mn loading of 15% (Fe:Mn = 6:4) exhibited the highest catalytic performance, achieving a high WS removal efficiency of 97.91% at 200 °C. The catalyst retained the cryptomelane-type tunnel structure of OMS-2 and possessed enhanced redox activity due to the synergistic interaction between surface Fe and Mn species. This study investigates the spatial and temporal patterns of water use efficiency (WUE) anomalies across the Central Highlands of Vietnam from 2001–2024 via MODIS time series data, with a focus on seasonal differences and climatic drivers. The results revealed pronounced interannual and spatial variability in the WUE, with significant improvements observed during 2004, 2015, and 2021–2024 and substantial declines during 2005–2008, 2010–2013, and 2016–2017, which coincided with major drought events in the region. Mangrove ecosystems are vital carbon sinks, yet they are threatened by anthropogenic pressures and natural disturbances, causing significant carbon stock losses. Given the limited data for Baganga, Davao Oriental, this study quantified the aboveground biomass (AGB) and blue carbon stock in the Lucod mangrove swamp forest reserve. We identified mangrove species, measured AGB and carbon content via allometric equations, and compared storage among species. The results indicated that the mangrove forest AGB was within typical ranges for tropical wet regions and the Asia-Pacific region, but its overall carbon content did not reach highly productive ecosystem levels. This study assessed heavy metal contamination in roadside vegetables (Ipomoea batatas and Moringa oleifera) across five urbanized localities in Bukidnon, Philippines, and evaluated potential human health risks. Metal concentrations (Cd, Cr, Cu, Co, Fe, Mn, and Zn) were analyzed via atomic absorption spectro-photometry and compared against FAO/WHO maximum permissible limits. The results revealed severe contamination, with Mn (575.27–862.17 mg kg-1) and Fe (256.46–706.68 mg kg-1) dominating natural soil mineralogy (Adtuyon series) and anthropogenic inputs. The global surge in plastic usage during the COVID–19 pandemic raised concerns about increased microplastic (MP) contamination in aquatic environments. This study assessed the abundance, characteristics, and ecological risk of MPs in surface sediments of the inner Gulf of Thailand during the post–COVID–19 period (April 2021). The sediment samples were analyzed via density separation, stereomicroscopic examination, and polymer identification via micro–FTIR. The mean MP abundance was 196.07 ± 85.60 pieces kg-1, with concentrations ranging from 73.08 to 351.19 pieces kg-1. The combined impacts of deforestation, tree cover loss, and urbanization in urban and suburban areas significantly reduce the capacity of natural carbon sinks to sequester and store carbon. Hence, this study assessed the aboveground biomass (AGB) and carbon stock of trees in the selected green spaces of Davao City. A purposive sampling technique was employed in placing quadrats, with data collected from 27 plots categorized by size. The acidic natural rubber/wormhole-like mesostructured silica nanocomposites (NR/WMS-SO3H) were successfully functionalized with propylsulfonic acid and arenesulfonic acid via a cocondensation method using 3-mercaptopropyl trimetho-xysilane (MPTMS) and 2-(4-chloro-sulfonylphenyl) ethyltrimethoxy silane (CSPTMS), respectively. Compared with organosulfonic acid-functionalized wormhole-like mesostructured silica (WMS-SO3H), NR/WMS-SO3H demonstrated increased hydrophobicity while maintaining mesoporosity and a large surface area. The catalytic performance of the synthesized solid acids was subsequently evaluated via batch esterification of palmitic acid with methanol to generate fatty acid methyl esters for biodiesel synthesis. Climate change necessitates innovative strategies, with carbon markets emerging as a key tool for mitigation. This study assesses the readiness and willingness of stakeholders in Anambra State to engage in a subnational carbon market. Using a structured questionnaire distributed across government, industry, and academia, the data were analyzed through descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, and multiple regression analysis. Understanding plant‒microbial interactions in petroleum-contaminated soil is critical for enhancing phytoremediation technology. In this study, the root exudate of crabgrass (Digitaria ciliaris) was collected hydroponically, and its dominant composition was identified via GC‒MS. A soil microcosm study was subsequently conducted to evaluate the influence of crabgrass root exudates on microbial growth, dehydrogenase activity, and biodegradation of total petroleum hydrocarbons by the petroleum-degrading bacteria Micrococcus luteus WN01 and Acinetobacter lwoffii A07. อุปกรณ์พาสสีพเป็นเครื่องมืออย่างง่ายในการเฝ้าระวังคุณภาพอากาศ อาศัยหลักการแพร่อย่าง อิสระของโมเลกุลสารมลพิษที่สนใจศึกษา และถูกดูดซับบนแผ่นกรองได้โดยไม่ต้องใช้พลังงานไฟฟ้า เมื่อนำมาวิเคราะห์สารที่ถูกดูดซับบนแผ่นกรอง และคำนวณตามกฎการแพร่ข้อแรกของฟิค สามารถหาความเข้มข้นสารมลพิษเฉลี่ยจากระยะเวลาที่รับสัมผัสไต้ การศึกษาเลือกไนโตรเจนไดออกไซด์ (NO2) เป็นตัวชี้วัดด้วยอุปกรณ์พาสสีพ โดยเลือกศึกษาปัจจัยที่เหมาะสมในการผลิตอุปกรณ์พาสสีพ การเก็บรักษาและทดสอบการใช้งานทั้งในบรรยากาศทั่วไป และในการเผ่าระวังการรับสัมผัสส่วนบุคคล สารเคมีที่เหมาะสมในการเคลือบแผ่นกรอง คือสารละลายผสมระหว่างโซเดียมไฮดรอกไซด์กับโซเดียมไอโอไดด์ในเมธานอล โดยใช้แผ่นกรองใยแก้วเป็นสิงกีดขวางฝุ่นหรือสารมลพิษอื่น ซึ่งเงื่อนไขนี้ใช้ในการผลิตอุปกรณ์พาสสีพสำหรับการทดลองต่อ ๆ ไป โดยตรวจหาสารมลพิษที่ถูกดักจับไว้บนแผ่นกรองในรูปไนไตรต์ด้วยวิธียูวีสเปคโตรโฟโตมิเตอร์อุปกรณ์พาสสีพที่เตรียมมีอายุการใช้งานได้ดีภายใน 1 เดือนโดยสามารถเก็บรักษาไว้ที่อุณหภูมิ ปกติ สำหรับการใช้งานอุปกรณ์พาสสิพจากการเปรียบเทียบกับวิธีตรวจวัด NO2 แบบแอคทีฟภายในอาคารได้ผลสอดคล้องกันเป็นอย่างดีเมื่อใช้เวลารับสัมผัส 290 และ 360 นาที ผลจากการนำอุปกรณ์ พาสีพผลิตตามวิธีที่เหมาะสมไปวัด NO2 เทียบกับการตรวจวัดโดยวิธีแบบเคมีลูมิเนสเซนต์ ในบรรยากาศทั่วไป ณ บริเวณสถานีตรวจวัดคุณภาพอากาศการเคหะแห่งชาติ และรามคำแหงของกรมควบคุมมลพิษระหว่างวันที่ 21 ก.พ.-7 มี.ค. 2546 โดยสัมผัสตัวอย่างอากาศใน 24 ชั่วโมง (n = 3, แบลงค์ = 7 ในแต่ละวัน) รวม 14 วัน พบว่ามีความสัมพันธ์กันปานกลาง ณ สถานีตรวจวัดคุณภาพอากาศการเคหะแห่งชาติ (y = 1.2035X - 0.3291, R2 = 0.647ึ7) ส่วนความสัมพันธ์ ณ สถานีตรวจวัดรามคำแหงพบว่ามีค่าต่ำกว่าเล็กน้อย (y = 0.59X + 9.8699, R2 = 0.6016) ทั้งนี้เนื่องมาจากการตรวจวัดในภาคสนามมีปัจจัยอื่นๆ ส่งผลต่อการดูดซับสารมลพิษบนอุปกรณ์พาสสีพ เช่น ความเร็วลม อุณหภูมิ เมื่อวัดปริมาณ NO2 ที่บุคคล กลุ่มตัวอย่างรับสัมผัสด้วยวิธีพาสสีพในช่วง 5 วันต่อเนื่อง สามารถนำมาใช้งานได้ดีเพราะมีขนาดเล็กและไม่รบกวนกิจกรรมปกติของกลุ่มตัวอย่าง

การสำรวจพันธุปลาโดยเครื่องมือจับปลาแบบใช้กระแสไฟฟ้าสุ่มตัวอย่างจาก 8 จุดสำรวจในบึง บอระเพ็ดพบพันธุ์ปลาจำนวน 43 ชนิด แบ่งเป็นพันธุ์ปลาที่พบในเขตหวงห้ามไม่ให้ทำประมงโดยเด็ดขาด จำนวน 34 ชนิด และในเขตที่อนุญาตให้ราษฎรทำการประมงโดยเครื่องมือบางชนิดที่กำหนดได้ จำนวน 25 ชนิด พบว่าในเขตหวงห้ามไม่ให้ทำประมงมีความหลากหลาย ความชุกขุม และน้ำหนักของปลาสูงกว่าใน เขตที่อนุญาตให้ราษฎรทำการประมงโดยเครื่องมือบางชนิดได้ ผลของการจับปลาขนาดกลางและขนาดใหญ่ จำนวนมากอย่างต่อเนื่องในเขตที่อนุญาตให้ราษฎรทำการประมงโดยเครื่องมือบางชนิดได้ มีผลกระทบต่อ สังคมของปลาซึ่งแสดงให้เห็นได้จากค่าสัดส่วนของนาหนักของปลาผู้ล่าต่อน้ำหนักของปลาที่ไม่ใช่ผู้ล่า ดังนั้นการคุ้มครองและการคงไว้ของพื้นที่เขตหวงห้ามไม่ให้ทำประมงและการจัดการสังคมพืชนาประเภทต่างๆ อย่างเหมาะสมจึงเป็นสิ่งที่จำเป็นต่อการพัฒนาบึงบอระเพ็ดเพื่อการใช้ประโยชน์อย่างยั่งยืน

รายงานวิจัยเรื่อง "เครื่องมือทางสังคม : การจัดการขยะชุมชนอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพเพื่อแก้ไขปัญหาขยะชุมชน" มีวัตถุประสงค์อยู่ภายใต้กรอบแนวคิด 5Rs คือ Reduce การลดปริมาณขยะ ณ แหล่ง กำเนิด, Reuse การนำวัสดุใช้แล้วกลับมาใช้ซ้ำ, Recycle การนำวัสดุที่ไม่ใช้แล้วไปเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพกลับมาใช้ใหม่, Reject หลีกเลี่ยง/ปฏิเสธใช้วัสดุยากต่อการกำจัด และ Response ตอบรับมาตรการที่นำเสนอด้วยการปฏิบัติตาม เพื่อนำกรอบแนวคิด 5Rs มาสร้างรูปแบบการจัดการขยะ 2 รูปแบบ คือ การคัด แยกขยะ และการเก็บขนขยะ โดยมีหลักการกำหนดรูปแบบดังนี้
รูปแบบการคัดแยกขยะชุมชน แบ่งขยะออกเป็น “ขยะธรรมดา” และ “ขยะอันตราย” ขยะธรรมดาแยกเป็น ขยะมีมูลค่า เพื่อนำไปใช้ประโยชน์ต่อไป เช่น ขาย หรือนำกลับมาใช้ใหม่ ขยะอินทรีย์ นำไปทำปุ๋ยหมัก/อาหารสัตว์และขยะอื่นๆ (ทิ้ง) เทศบาลนำไปกำจัดขยะอันตราย กำหนดให้มีการแยกทิ้ง ต่างหากและนำไปกำจัดด้วยวิธีพิเศษ
รูปแบบการเก็บขนขยะชุมชน การกำหนดรูปแบบการเก็บขนขยะ เพื่อที่จะควบคุมพฤติกรรม ของผู้ทิ้งขยะให้มีการคัดแยกขยะตามประเภท และใช้รูปแบบการเก็บขนขยะชุมชนเป็นตัวกำหนด ดังนี้
1. ขยะอินทรีย์ เก็บทุกวันจันทร์ วันพุธ และวันศุกร์
2. ขยะอื่นๆ (ทิ้ง) เก็บทุกวันอังคาร วันพฤหัสบดีและวันเสาร์
3. ขยะมีมูลค่า เก็บทุกวันอาทิตย์
4. ขยะอันตราย เก็บวันอาทิตย์ หรือเดือนละครั้งหรือสองครั้ง ขึ้นอยู่กับปริมาณของขยะอันตรายที่มี

หลักสำคัญของเครื่องมือทางสังคม เป็นการสร้างกระบวนการเรียนรู้ให้เกิดขึ้นในชุมชน โดย มุ่งหมายให้ประชาชนมีความรู้ ความเข้าใจ ทัศนคติ พฤติกรรม และความเคยชินของประชาชนที่เห็น ความสำคัญของปัญหาขยะชุมชน ปัจจัยความสำเร็จของการคัดแยกขยะจึงเป็นกระบวนการผลิตซ้ำทางความคิดและวัฒนธรรม กล่าวคือจะต้องสร้างกระแสและมีแรงจูงใจ ซึ่งต้องใช้ระยะเวลาที่ต่อเนื่องมากพอ จึงจะประสบผลสำเร็จ
ข้อเสนอแนะ
1) ควรมีการประชาสัมพันธ์รูปแบบ สนับสนุน สร้างแรงจูงใจระยะยาวและต่อเนื่อง ให้ประชาชน มีทัศนคติที่ดีต่อการคัดแยกขยะ
2) ควรมีการจัดอบรมให้ความรู้เกี่ยวกับการคัดแยกขยะธรรมดาออกจากขยะอันตรายให้มาทขึ้น
3) เทศบาลต้องสร้างความมั่นใจในระบบเก็บขนที่ประชาขนคัดแยกประเภทขยะแล้วนำไปกำจัดได้อย่างถูกวิธี …

ปัจจุบันปัญหามลพิษทางอากาศของประเทศไทย จัดเป็นปัญหาสิ่งแวดล้อมที่สำคัญและทวีความ รุนแรงขึ้นทุกขณะ โดยเฉพาะปัญหาฝุ่นละอองในพื้นที่ที่มีอุตสาหกรรมเหมืองหิน และโม่บดหรือย่อยหิน ดังนั้นจึงได้ดำเนินการศึกษาวิจัยเกี่ยวกับผลกระทบของมลพิษทางอากาศต่อระบบหายใจของเด็กที่อาศัยใน พื้นที่ดังกล่าว โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาอัตราชุกของอาการทางระบบหายใจและสมรรถภาพปอดของนักเรียน ศึกษาความเข้มข้นของฝุ่นละออง และวิเคราะห์หาปัจจัยที่มีผลต่อค่าสมรรถภาพปอดของนักเรียน ในพื้นที่ที่มีอุตสาหกรรมเหมืองหิน และโม่ บดหรือย่อยหิน คือ โรงเรียนหน้าพระลาน อำเภอเฉลิมพระเกียรติ จังหวัด สระบุรี เป็นพื้นที่ศึกษา และพื้นที่ที่ไม่มีอุตสาหกรรมเหมืองหิน และโม่ บดหรือย่อยหิน คือ โรงเรียนบ้าน โคกตูม อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดลพบุรี เป็นพื้นที่เปรียบเทียบ ด้วยวิธีการศึกษาแบบภาคตัดขวาง (Cross sectional study) การศึกษานี้เก็บข้อมูลระหว่างเดือนพฤศจิกายน พ.ศ. 2545 ถึง กุมภาพันธ์ พ.ศ. 2546 โดยดำเนินการตรวจวัดฝุ่นละอองภายในอาคาร ด้วยเครื่องวัดฝุ่นละอองแบบเคลื่อนย้ายได้ (รุ่น Grimm) และตรวจวัดฝุ่นละอองในบรรยากาศด้วยเครื่อง High volume air sampler โดยแน่งเป็นฝุ่นละอองรวม (TSP) และฝุ่นละอองขนาดตากว่า 10 ไมโครเมตร (PM ) ควบคู่ไปกับการเก็บข้อมูลความชุกของอาการ ทางระบบหายใจด้วยแบบสอบถาม ตรวจวัดสมรรถภาพปอดด้วยมาตรวัดอัตราการไหลของอากาศหายใจออก (Peak flow meter) ในกลุ่มตัวอย่างที่เป็นนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 3-6 ของโรงเรียนหน้าพระลานและ โรงเรียนบ้านโคกตูม จำนวน 371 และ 319 คน ตามลำดับ
ผลการศึกษาพบว่า โรงเรียนหน้าพระลานมีความเข้มข้นของฝุ่นละอองรวม และฝุ่นละอองขนาดต่ำกว่า 10 ไมโครเมตรเฉลี่ย 24 ชั่วโมงในบรรยากาศภายนอกอาคารอยู่ในช่วง 262.5-778.4 และ 77.7-393.7 ไมโครกรัมต่อลูกบาศก์เมตรตามลำดับ มีความเข้มข้นของฝุ่นละอองรวมและฝุ่นละอองขนาดตากว่า 10 ไมโครเมตรเฉลี่ย 8 ชั่วโมงในอาคารอยู่ในช่วง 496.3-1,226.7 และ 322.8-691.3 ไมโครกรัมต่อลูกบาศก์เมตรตามลำดับ ขณะพี่โรงเรียนบานโคกตูมมีความเข้มข้นของมีนละอองรวมและมีนละอองขนาด ตากว่า 10 ไมโครเมตรเฉลี่ย 24 ชั่วโมงในบรรยากาศภายนอกอาคารอยู่ในช่วง 48.7-126.4 และ 35.9-100.5 …
