Myanmar is endowed with abundant natural and mineral resources. However, environmentaldegradation and social impacts have increased in recent years due to foreign investment in the mining sector and the application of modern technology in mining and processing methods to increase productivity. Vietnam, with an area of 331,210 km2, occupies the eastern side of the Indochina peninsula. It forms a narrow (locally only 40-70 km)band of land, extending over 1,500 km along the East Sea (South China Sea). Vietnam is constituted mainly by the folded belts surrounding two shields, cratonised in the Upper Proterozoic: the Yangtze craton and the Indochina shield, located in the Mekongbasin and occupying most of Cambodia and the contiguous parts of Laos and Vietnam. Enhanced nitrate reduction of nanoscale zero valent iron (nZVI) by Cu prepared by impregnation method was studied in this work. Using a full factorial design, the performance of nZVI with and without Cu on surface in acidic and neutral conditions was investigated. Static batch reactor was selected in this study to investigate the effects of the independent variables such as catalysts (nZVI with and without Cu), initial pH of solutions (3, 7), and reaction times (10, 30 min). This research was conducted to estimate exposure and risk of exposure to BTEX (benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylene)by a cross-sectional studying among pregnant women who lived in the vicinity of a petro-chemical industrial estatearea. Personal exposure was monitored by environmental and biological sampling.Other relevant data were gathered by a structured questionnaire for analysis. The relationship between BTEX exposure and potential risk factors was determined by multiple linear regression. Average BTEX exposure levels were 18.89, 29.40, 10.26, and 17.85µg m-3, respectively, which were significantlyhigher than the control group. Green building design requires use of building materials that minimize environmental impact, necessitating selection of building materials by their environmental profile as well as economic cost-benefit considerations. The objective of this research is to determine the environmental impacts per square meter of three flooring materials; ceramic tiles, marble tiles, andparquet produced in Thailand. Life cycle cost (LCC) of the three materials are determined and compared. The study finds that ceramic tiles cause the greatest environmental impact, especially during the material extraction phase. When calculating all costsincurred throughout the life-cycle, the cost of untreated solid wood parquet is highest.

Passenger exposure to volatile organic compounds (VOCs) emitted from vehicle interiors hasincreasingly drawn public concern over their potential health risks. This study aimed to investigate ambient levels of in-cabin VOCs in a new car over the period of one year after first delivery. The relationship between VOC concentrations and in-cabin temperature was also studied. Seventeen active air samplings inside a parked new car were conducted from February 2012 to February 2013 using sorbent tubes. Commonly referred to as soot, black carbon (BC) is a primary aerosol emitted from incomplete combustion of organic materials such as fossil fuels, biofuels and biomass. BC aerosolis a dominant anthropogenic solar radiation absorber, absorbing approximately 1 million times more radiation per unit of mass than CO2. Recent research has found that BC is the second largest anthropogenic contributor to global warming. BC aerosol is not only a short-lived climate forcer (SLCF) but also an air pollutant that adversely affects human health. This article compares higher education and the internationalization thereof in ASEAN, with special reference to Thailand. While the comparison of higher education in ASEAN uses secondary data, the situation of higher education in Thailand utilizes primary data obtained from in-depth interviews. The results show that higher education sectors in ASEAN member countries are extremely diverse. Most ASEAN countries are facing two major challenges though, namely to (i) increase tertiary enrolment and (ii) improve the quality of higher education, although the extent of quality concerns varies substantially within and across member countries. This article discusses the trends toward populations aging in ASEAN and their challenges. It also assesses programs conducted under the Second National Plan for Older Persons in Thailand to extract lessons for policy formulation and development programs responding to population aging in other ASEAN countries. This assessment is based on findings from the project on Monitoring and Evaluation of the Second National Plan for Older Persons (2002-2021). The lessons learnt from Thailand seem to indicate that it is necessary for each ASEAN country to have concrete long-term plans for their elder populations. This issue of Applied Environmental Research includes seven of the papers that were presented at a Regional Workshop on "Mineral Resources, Mining and Environmental Management in ASEAN", held in Bangkok from 6-8th June, 2013. The theme of the meeting concerned the approach to sustainable mining adopted by the different ASEAN nations that were able to attend, namely Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam, and Indonesia, with additional papers from the UK and Germany. Periodic algal blooms of three diatom species such as Coscinodiscus centralis, Rhizosolenia alata andRhizosolenia imbricata were observedduringSeptember 2011, December 2011 and March 2012 in the coastal waters of South Andaman Sea at Junglighat bay area (11° 39 N and 92° 43 E). The blooms were intense, with Coscinodiscus at aconcentration of 89,000 cells mL-1(contributing 85 to 98% to the total phytoplanktonpopulation), Rhizosolenia alataat a concentration of 13,000 cellsmL-1(86-93%) and Rhizosolenia imbricata at aconcentration of 19,000 cells. mL-1(91-99%). This research investigated the feasibility of using cellular glass insulation waste as fine aggregate in concrete paving block production. The effect of mixing proportions of cellular glass insulation waste at 0-40% by volume was studied. Results show that the amount of cellular glass waste can be used as a substitute for fine aggregate or sand up to 20%. Concrete specimens tested for compressive strength were found to be within an acceptable range of the interlocking concrete blockpavingstandard set byThailand Industrial Standards Institute. The compressive strength at 28 d was 41.50 MPa, with density ranging from 2.18 to 2.20 g cm-3. …

การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาการใช้หนังสือบันเทิงคดี ในห้องสมุดเพื่อการเรียนรู้กรุงเทพมหานคร ในด้านวัตถุประสงค์ในการใช้ ความถี่ในการใช้ วิธีการเข้าถึง การพิจารณาเลือกใช้ ลักษณะการใช้ ประเภท และเนื้อหาที่ใช้ รวมทั้งปัญหาการใช้หนังสือบันเทิงคดี โดยเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลด้วยแบบสอบถามจากผู้ใช้หนังสือบันเทิงคดีในห้องสมุดเพื่อการเรียนรู้ จำนวน 5 แห่ง ได้แก่ ห้องสมุดเพื่อการเรียนรู้ซอยพระนาง บางกะปิ บางขุนเทียน สะพานสูง และสวนลุมพินี แห่งละ 80 คน ผลการวิจัย พบว่า ผู้ตอบแบบสอบถามส่วนใหญ่ใช้หนังสือบันเทิงคดีโดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อใช้เวลาว่างให้เกิดประโยชน์มักเข้ามาใช้หนังสือในวันธรรมดาสัปดาห์ละ 2-3 ครั้ง ช่วงเวลา 12.00-16.30น. ผู้ใช้เข้าถึงหนังสือด้วยวิธีการเดินหาตามชั้นโดยพิจารณาเลือกใช้จากเนื้อหาของหนังสือที่น่าสนใจ ทั้งนี้ส่วนใหญ่จะมาใช้หนังสือภายในห้องสมุดเพื่อการเรียนรู้ และใช้หนังสือบันเทิงคดีประเภทนวนิยาย มีเนื้อหาตลก เบาสมอง สำหรับปัญหาในการใช้หนังสือบันเทิงคดีในด้านการเข้าถึง การเข้าถึง การพิจารณาเลือกใช้หนังสือบันเทิงคดี และการจัดการของห้องสมุดนั้นผู้ใช้ประสบปัญหาต่าง ๆ ในระดับปานกลาง และระดับน้อยเท่านั้น โดยปัญหาที่มีค่าเฉลี่ยสูงสุดคือ หาหนังสือชื่อเรื่องที่ต้องการไม่พบ This research aims to study the use of fiction books in Bangkok Metropolitian Discovery Learning libraries in terms of users’ purposes in use, frequencies of use, access methods, book selection considerations, characteristics of use, fiction categories to be read, and content of the used books. การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาการแสวงหาสารนิเทศให้ผู้สูงอายุโดยสมาชิกครอบครัวในด้านการรับทราบความต้องการสารนิเทศของผู้สูงอายุ เนื้อหาของสารนิเทศที่แสวงหาให้ผู้สูงอายุ แหล่งสารนิเทศที่สมาชิกครอบครัวใช้ และวิธีการนำเสนอสารนิเทศให้ผู้สูงอายุ รวมถึงปัญหาที่สมาชิกครอบครัวประสบในการแสวงหาสารนิเทศให้ผู้สูงอายุ การวิจัยครั้งนี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงสำรวจ โดยใช้แบบสัมภาษณ์เป็นเครื่องมือในการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลจากสมาชิกครอบครัวของผู้สูงอายุในกรุงเทพมหานคร จำนวน 5 เขต เขตละ 20 คน รวมทั้งสิ้น 100 คน ผลการวิจัยพบว่า สมาชิกครอบครัวส่วนใหญ่รับทราบความต้องการสารนิเทศของผู้สูงอายุ จากการที่ผู้สูงอายุขอความช่วยเหลือในการแสวงหาสารนิเทศที่ต้องการ และแสวงหาสารนิเทศที่มีเนื้อหาด้านสุขภาพให้ผู้สูงอายุ แหล่งสารนิเทศบุคคลและแหล่งสารนิเทศสื่อมวลชนเป็นแหล่งสารนิเทศที่สมาชิกครอบครัวส่วนใหญ่ใช้ในการแสวงหาสารนิเทศให้ผู้สูงอายุ ในการนำเสนอสารนิเทศให้ผู้สูงอายุ สมาชิกครอบครัวส่วนใหญ่ใช้วิธีการนำเสนอสารนิเทศด้วยตนเอง สำหรับปัญหาที่สมาชิกครอบครัวประสบในการแสวงหาสารนิเทศให้ผู้สูงอายุ พบว่า สมาชิกครอบครัวประสบปัญหาในระดับมาก ระดับปานกลาง และระดับน้อย โดยปัญหาที่มีค่าเฉลี่ยสูงสุด ได้แก่ ไม่มีเวลานำเสนอสารนิเทศด้วยตนเอง The objectives of this research were 1) to study information seeking for elderly people by family members, in terms of acknowledgement of elderly people’s information needs, content sought for elderly People, information sources used by family members, and methods of information presentation; 2) to investigate problems in information seeking for elderly people. การวิจัยเชิงสำรวจนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อประเมินโครงการการจัดการความรู้ในห้องสมุด มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล ในด้านบริบท ปัจจัยนำเข้า กระบวนการ และผลผลิต โดยใช้แบบสอบถามเป็นเครื่องมือในการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลจากบุคลากรห้องสมุดมหาวิทยาลัยมหิดลที่เข้าร่วมโครงการ การจัดการความรู้ จำนวน 100 คน คิดเป็นร้อยละ 74 จากจำนวนแบบสอบถามที่ส่งไปทั้งหมด 135 ชุด ผลการวิจัยพบว่า โครงการการจัดการความรู้ในห้องสมุดมหาวิทยาลัยมหิดลในภาพรวมมีค่าเฉลี่ยการประเมินอยู่ในระดับปานกลาง โดยด้านบริบทของโครงการมีค่าเฉลี่ยรวมอยู่ในระดับมาก ส่วนด้านปัจจัยนำเข้า กระบวนการ และผลผลิตมีค่าเฉลี่ยรวมอยู่ในระดับปานกลาง เมื่อพิจารณารายการประเมินเฉพาะในแต่ละด้าน บุคลากรที่เข้าร่วมโครงการเห็นว่าความจำเป็นของการดำเนินโครงการจัดการความรู้ และการสนับสนุนจากผู้บริหารมีอยู่ในระดับมาก ขณะที่การมีส่วนร่วมของบุคลากรในการดำเนินโครงการ และฐานข้อมูลความรู้ในห้องสมุดที่เป็นผลผลิตของโครงการมีอยู่ในระดับปานกลางสำหรับผลการประเมินโครงการย่อยที่ดำเนินการภายใต้โครงการการจัดการความรู้ปราฏว่า โครงการฝึกอบรมเชิงปฏิบัติการเรื่อง การใช้เทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศสำหรับบุคลากรห้องสมุดมหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล และโครงการแลกเปลี่ยนเรียนรู้ในงานเทคนิคห้องสมุดมีค่าเฉลี่ยรวมอยู่ในระดับมาก ส่วนโครงการพัฒนางานประจำสู่งานวิจัยมีค่าเฉลี่ยรวมอยู่ในระดับปานกลาง The objective of this survey research was to evaluate knowledge management (KM) projects implemented in Mahidol University (MU) libraries in relation to their context, input, process, and output, This research was conducted by distributing 135 questionnaires to every KM project participant in the MU libraries. การประชุมประจำปี ครั้งที่ 1 ของสภานานาชาติว่าด้วยเอกสารจดหมายเหตุ (International Council on Archives) จัดขึ้น ณ ประเทศเบลเยี่ยม ระหว่างวันที่ 23 – 24 พฤศจิกายน 2556 ภายใต้หัวข้อเรื่อง “ภาระรับผิดชอบ ความโปร่งใสและการเข้าถึงสารนิเทศ” การจัดประชุมนี้เป็นกิจกรรมสำคัญที่เปิดโอกาสให้นักวิจัยนักวิชาการ ตลอดจนผู้ประกอบวิชาชีพด้านการจัดการเอกสารและจดมหายเหตุจากประเทศต่าง ๆ ได้นำเสนอแนวคิด แลกเปลี่ยนแนวปฏิบัติ สร้างเครื่องข่ายความ ร่วมมือ อภิปรายแลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็น และแสวงหาแนวทางเพื่อพัฒนาวงการเอกสารและจดหมายเหตุให้เจริญก้าวหน้า ประเด็นหลักที่น่าสนใจและนำเสนอในที่ประชุม ได้แก่ 1) กลไกการเปิดเผยสารนิเทศ 2) กฎหมายเกี่ยวกับการเผยแพร่ข้อมูล ข่าวสารภาครัฐ 3) สิทธิในการปกปิดหรือลบข้อมูลส่วนบุคคลที่ปรากฏอยู่บนอินเทอร์เน็ต 4) การสร้างการยอมรับในบทบาทและความรับผิดชอบของนักวิชาชีพการจัดการเอกสารและจดหมายเหตุ และ 5) การประยุกต์เทคโนโลยีเพื่อแปลงเอกสารและจดหมายเหตุในรูปแบบดิจิทัล The International Council on Archives’ First Annual Conference was hosted in Belgium, from 23th to 24th September 2013.
