The New Delhi Riots of 2020 dominated the news cycle for days, even as U.S. President Trump visited India. This article is based on news coverage of these riots during and immediately following their occurrence between February 23 and March 10, 2020. Taking a multidisciplinary approach, this article investigates the discourse on India and its minorities that frames the understanding of these riots to argue that Western media coverage betrays biases and contradictions. This article analyzes the varied alternative narratives of these riots in the Indian media, including secular and Hindu nationalist media, to critique the Western media narrative. This …

Partisan Selective Exposure On Social Media During The 2020 Presidential Election, Grayce Lemon

This study examines selective exposure and selective avoidance on social media during the 2020 presidential election. 147 voters participated in the survey conducted using Qualtrics. The purpose of this study was to understand whether selective exposure and avoidance behaviors differed based on voting outcome (Trump or Biden), and to test whether political ideological polarization was reflected in news consumption through social media. Taken together, the results indicate that although both voting bases engaged in selective exposure and avoidance, the propensity was the same between Trump and Biden voters. In Tanzania, the mass media is a primary means of communicating health information to urban and rural populations. While unsafe abortion is the leading cause of maternal deaths and complications in Tanzania, this has increased the high unintended pregnancy rate. Journalists, editors, program managers and producers play a significant role in determining the health-related issues reported. In the present study, the views, and opinions of mass media key informants on coverage of issues related to maternal, newborn and child health in Lake Zone were investigated. งานวิจัยนี้เป็นงานวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพมีวัตถุประสงค์ คือ 1) เพื่อศึกษาถึงภูมิทัศน์การพัฒนาการอภิบาลข้อมูลส่วนบุคคลในสื่อสังคมออนไลน์ 2) เพื่อศึกษาถึงบทบาท หน้าที่ 3) เพื่อศึกษาการเปลี่ยนแปลงด้านนโยบายและกลไกในบริบทของการโฆษณาบนสื่อสังคมออนไลน์ 4) เพื่อศึกษาข้อเสนอแนะสำหรับรูปแบบและกระบวนการของการอภิบาลข้อมูลส่วนบุคคลในสื่อสังคมออนไลน์ที่เหมาะสมกับประเทศไทย โดยใช้แนวคิดเรื่องกรอบการอภิบาลข้อมูล ระเบียบวิธีวิจัยใช้การวิเคราะห์เอกสารทั้งในและต่างประเทศ และใช้การสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึกจากผู้ให้ข้อมูลหลัก 4 ภาคส่วน คือ ภาครัฐ ภาคเทคโนโลยีสื่อสังคมออนไลน์ ภาคตลาด และภาคประชาชน นักวิชาการและวิชาชีพ ผลการวิจัยพบว่าการพัฒนาการอภิบาลข้อมูลส่วนบุคคลในสื่อสังคมออนไลน์มีพลวัตการเปลี่ยนแปลงแบ่งได้เป็น 3 ยุค คือ 1.การอภิบาลในฐานะสื่อ (Social Media) (ปี พ.ศ. 2543-2549) สื่อสังคมออนไลน์มีฐานะของช่องทางการสื่อสารเป็นหลัก 2.การอภิบาลในฐานะแพลตฟอร์มทางการตลาด (Social commerce platform) (ปี พ.ศ. 2550-2560) สื่อสังคมออนไลน์ได้พัฒนาเป็นแพลตฟอร์มในการรับลงโฆษณาโดยใช้ข้อมูลมาสร้างรายได้อย่างสูง รูปแบบการกำกับตนเองตามแนวทางของอุตสาหกรรมโฆษณา 3.การอภิบาลในฐานะเป็นสถาบันทางสังคม (Social Institution) (ปี พ.ศ. 2561-2566) สื่อสังคมออนไลน์มีความสำคัญในด้านเศรษฐกิจและมีอิทธิพลต่อสังคม และพบปัญหาการละเมิดข้อมูลส่วนบุคคลจำนวนมาก ภาครัฐจึงได้มีกฎหมายคุ้มครองข้อมูลอย่าง GDPR ของสหภาพยุโรป ที่ส่งผลต่อการออกกฎหมาย PDPA ของไทย รูปแบบการอภิบาลข้อมูลส่วนบุคคลนั้นควรไปในทิศทางของการกำกับร่วมกับภาครัฐมากขึ้น แต่ในช่วงแรกนี้ภาครัฐได้ทำหน้าที่เป็นผู้ส่งเสริมสนับสนุนให้มีการพัฒนากระบวนการตามกฎหมาย ส่วนของบทบาท หน้าที่ ได้มีการกำหนดตามกฎหมายอย่างชัดเจนแล้ว คือ ผู้ควบคุมข้อมูล ผู้ประมวลผลข้อมูลและเจ้าของข้อมูล แต่การปรับเปลี่ยนในด้านนโยบายและกลไกที่นำมาใช้ในการอภิบาลนั้นจะแตกต่างกันไปตามความเหมาะสมกับบริบทและทรัพยากรของแต่ละองค์กร

เทคโนโลยีการสื่อสารความเป็นจริงเสมือนและความรอบรู้ทางดิจิทัลของคนไทย, กมลรัตน์ กิจรุ่งไพศาล

การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อสำรวจและอธิบายเทคโนโลยีการสื่อสารวีอาร์ (Virtual Reality; VR) ด้านความไร้เดียงสาของผู้ใช้งานที่มีต่อวีอาร์ ความเสี่ยงจากการใช้งาน การตอบสนองต่อสถานการณ์วีอาร์ และความรอบรู้ทางดิจิทัลที่มีต่อวีอาร์ ใช้ระเบียบวิธีวิจัยแบบผสานวิธี โดยใช้การวิจัยเชิงสำรวจ กลุ่มตัวอย่าง 400 คน อายุ 18-59 ปี ในกรุงเทพฯ และทดสอบใช้วีอาร์เนื้อหาแนวผจญภัยที่สร้างขึ้นสำหรับการวิจัย โดยผู้เข้าร่วมวิจัยเข้าถึงเนื้อหาผ่านแว่นวีอาร์และสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึก จำนวน 13 คน นำผลการวิจัยสองส่วนมาสังเคราะห์และเสนอแนวทางเสริมสร้างความรอบรู้ทางดิจิทัลที่มีต่อวีอาร์ และตรวจสอบด้วยวิธีการประเมินอิงผู้เชี่ยวชาญ ผลการวิจัยเชิงสำรวจพบว่า กลุ่มตัวอย่างมีประสบการณ์เกี่ยวกับวีอาร์น้อย มีความรู้เกี่ยวกับวีอาร์และรับรู้ผลกระทบด้านจิตใจจากการใช้วีอาร์ปานกลาง มีความเสี่ยงปานกลางที่จะมีใจจดจ่ออยู่กับความเป็นจริงเสมือน ละเลยสภาพแวดล้อมทางกายภาพ และเข้าถึงเนื้อหาที่มีความเสี่ยง ด้านการตอบสนองต่อสถานการณ์วีอาร์ มีพฤติกรรมจมดิ่งอยู่กับสถานการณ์ในวีอาร์มาก ทำเหมือนที่ทำในชีวิตจริงปานกลาง แต่ละเลยต่อผู้อื่นน้อย ด้านความรอบรู้ทางดิจิทัลที่มีต่อวีอาร์พบว่า แยกแยะระหว่างโลกชีวิตจริงกับโลกวีอาร์ได้ปานกลาง ผลการทดสอบสมมติฐานสรุปได้ว่า ความไร้เดียงสาของผู้ใช้งานที่มีต่อวีอาร์ (β = 0.396) และความเสี่ยงจากการใช้งาน (β = -0.466) สามารถพยากรณ์ความรอบรู้ทางดิจิทัลที่มีต่อวีอาร์ได้อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 ผลการสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึกหลังทดสอบเนื้อหาวีอาร์พบว่า ผู้เข้าร่วมวิจัยมีความรู้และประสบการณ์เกี่ยวกับวีอาร์ค่อนข้างน้อย ยังไม่ตระหนักถึงความเสี่ยงและผลกระทบของวีอาร์ด้านจิตใจมากนัก การรับรู้ความเสี่ยงของเนื้อหาความเป็นจริงเสมือนแตกต่างกันไปตามภูมิหลัง ผู้ใช้งานที่ยังมีประสบการณ์ในการใช้วีอาร์ไม่มากควรพิจารณาแนวเนื้อหาและประเมินความเสี่ยงที่มีต่อจิตใจและร่างกายก่อนตัดสินใจเข้าถึงเนื้อหา แนวทางเสริมสร้างความรอบรู้ทางดิจิทัลที่มีต่อวีอาร์ ได้แก่ 1) ให้ความรู้ความเข้าใจเกี่ยวกับวีอาร์และเนื้อหาความเป็นจริงเสมือน 2) สร้างทักษะและความสามารถในการใช้วีอาร์อย่างปลอดภัยผ่านกิจกรรมเชิงปฏิบัติ 3) กำหนดนโยบายกำกับการเข้าถึงเนื้อหาความเป็นจริงเสมือนอย่างปลอดภัยและมีคุณภาพ

วิทยานิพนธ์นี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ คือ 1) เพื่อศึกษาลักษณะของรายการประเภทฮาร์ดทอล์กของไทย 2) เพื่อศึกษาคุณลักษณะของพิธีกรรายการประเภทฮาร์ดทอล์ก และ 3) เพื่อศึกษาเทคนิคการสัมภาษณ์ของพิธีกรรายการประเภทฮาร์ดทอล์กของไทย โดยใช้ระเบียบวิธีวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ ด้วยการศึกษาเอกสาร การวิเคราะห์เนื้อหา และการสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึก และใช้ระเบียบวิธีวิจัยเชิงปริมาณ ด้วยการทำแบบสอบถามมาเป็นข้อมูลสนับสนุน ผลการศึกษาพบว่า ลักษณะของรายการประเภทฮาร์ดทอล์กของไทย มีลักษณะ 10 ประการ ได้แก่ 1.การเท่าทันต่อเหตุการณ์ 2.ประเด็นที่เป็นกระแส 3.แนวทางการแก้ปัญหา 4.ลักษณะที่ถามตรง ถามลึก 5.มีผู้ดำเนินรายการเพียงคนเดียว 6.นำเสนอเนื้อหาของข่าวที่มีมุมมองที่หลากหลาย 7.เนื้อหาประเด็นการเมือง เศรษฐกิจ 8.แขกรับเชิญเป็นบุคคลในข่าวหรือเกี่ยวข้องกับข่าวนั้น 9.แขกรับเชิญเป็นผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิ ผู้ความเชี่ยวชาญ และ 10.ผู้ชมสามารถตอบโต้กับรายการได้ คุณลักษณะของพิธีกรรายการประเภทฮาร์ดทอล์ก แบ่งออกเป็น 2 ด้าน คือ ด้านความรู้ (Knowledge) ได้แก่ 1.เป็นบุคคลที่มีความรู้ ความสามารถ 2.เตรียมข้อมูลก่อนการสัมภาษณ์เสมอ 3.มีความเชื่อมั่นในตนเองและมีไหวพริบ 4.สามารถแก้ปัญหาเฉพาะหน้าได้ 5.การฟังอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ และ 6.มีความสามารถด้านภาษาต่างประเทศ และด้านคุณลักษณะในตัวพิธีกร (Traits) ได้แก่ 1.เปิดใจรับฟังความคิดเห็นและเสียงวิพากษ์วิจารณ์ 2.ต้องเป็นคนช่างสงสัยใคร่รู้ 3.สามารถนำเสนอประเด็นให้ผู้ชมได้วิเคราะห์ตาม 4.มีทิศทางการสัมภาษณ์ตรงประเด็น 5.สามารถสัมภาษณ์ประเด็นที่ยากให้เข้าใจง่าย ส่วนเทคนิคการสัมภาษณ์ของพิธีกรรายการประเภทฮาร์ดทอล์ก แบ่งออกเป็น 2 ช่วง คือ ช่วงก่อนการสัมภาษณ์ เทคนิคเลือกประเด็นสัมภาษณ์ที่เป็นประโยชน์ต่อสังคม และช่วงระหว่างการสัมภาษณ์ ได้แก่ สามารถถามคำถามแทนใจผู้ชม กล้าที่จะตั้งคำถาม การถามในลักษณะสรุปคำตอบ สร้างบรรยากาศผ่อนคลาย/ปลอดภัย ด้วยลักษณะการสื่อสารแบบไม่เป็นทางการ มีทักษะการโน้มน้าวใจ การตัดบท/การแทรกจังหวะ และต้องมีความสามารถในการควบคุมเนื้อหาและเวลา

This study aimed to explore the brand experience of Thai consumers toward Let’s Relax Spa and Massage across four dimensions. Using qualitative methodology, nine participants were purposively selected for on-site and online in-depth interviews, ensuring diversity based on specific criteria. The participants, actual consumers aged 27-33, shared their experiences using open-ended questions guided by Brakus et al.'s (2009) brand experience dimensions and the 7Ps of service marketing. The findings indicated an overall positive brand experience, particularly in sensory and behavioral aspects, with outstanding experiences in sight, sound, and taste senses. The Anne with an E fan campaign highlighted storylines of social issues that fans felt were important for society. Of particular interest to the fan community was a storyline from the series in which Anne and her friends organized a protest following incidents of sexual assault and censorship aimed at silencing girls from speaking out on gendered issues. This storyline was heavily referenced in the billboards that the fan-based campaign displayed in Toronto and New York City (Anne Nation, 2020). The tools utilized by social media, including algorithms and curation of media feeds, contribute to media phenomenon such as filter bubbles and confirmation biases. These agents transfer from the digital world to the real world, negatively affecting our society, and changing our behaviors. Some examples include political polarization, imposter syndrome, and extremism. These attributes of social media also promote the spread of mis and dis- information, which can negatively impact our social and personal health.

The effects of right wing politically charged violence are more visible now than at any other point in recent American history. The Internet, and social media more specifically, has become a crucial nexus point in the dissemination of decentralized Alt-Right propaganda. The visual nature of social media has increased the importance of images a means of communication. As rampage school shootings continue to occur in the United States, media coverage of such shootings continues to evolve. Media is a powerful force for how people form their understandings, opinions, and beliefs and, at least in part, the types of media they consume, it is important to understand how rampage school shootings are conveyed to the public. These shootings go through what is known as an “Issue-Attention Cycle” (Downs 1972) as coverage progresses. การวิจัยเรื่อง ต้นแบบการจัดการการสื่อสารเพื่อการท่องเที่ยวโดยชุมชน เป็นการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ โดยนำแนวคิดด้านการจัดการการท่องเที่ยวโดยชุมชน ทฤษฎีการสื่อสารแบบมีส่วนร่วมมาอธิบายการจัดการการสื่อสารของชุมชนในการกำหนดส่วนประสมทางการตลาด แนวคิดเกี่ยวกับการตลาดและแนวคิดการสื่อสารการตลาดมาศึกษากระบวนการทำงานด้านการกำหนดส่วนประสมทางการตลาดและการสื่อสารการตลาด รวมทั้งศึกษาปัญหาและอุปสรรคที่มีผลต่อการจัดการการสื่อสาร ทั้งนี้เพื่อเสนอต้นแบบของการจัดการการสื่อสารของการท่องเที่ยวโดยชุมชน โดยศึกษาในพื้นที่วิสาหกิจชุมชนชีววิถี ตำบลน้ำเกี๋ยน อำเภอภูเพียง จังหวัดน่าน และชุมชนท่องเที่ยวเชิงวัฒนธรรมบ้านเชียง อำเภอหนองหาน จังหวัดอุดรธานี เก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลจากการสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึกผู้ให้ข้อมูลหลักที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการท่องเที่ยวของชุมชน จำนวน 31 คน การสังเกตแบบมีส่วนร่วมในฐานะนักท่องเที่ยวและการวิเคราะห์เอกสาร ผลการวิจัย พบว่า ในกระบวนการทำงานของชุมชนในการจัดการการท่องเที่ยวด้านการกำหนดส่วนประสมทางการตลาด ชุมชนมีการใช้กระบวนการสื่อสารแบบมีส่วนร่วมในทุกขั้นตอนของการดำเนินงาน ตั้งแต่การตั้งแต่การเตรียมความพร้อมชุมชน การเตรียมความพร้อมเรื่องการตลาด และกระบวนการทำงานเพื่อเชื่อมโยงเรื่องชุมชนกับการตลาด โดยมีรูปแบบการสื่อสารทั้งแบบเป็นทางการและไม่เป็นทางการ พร้อมไปกับการสร้างเครือข่ายการสื่อสารของกลุ่มคนทุกวัยในชุมชน ด้านกระบวนการทำงานของชุมชนในการจัดการการท่องเที่ยวด้านการสื่อสารการตลาด ชุมชนมีการค้นหาจุดเด่นของชุมชนนำมาสร้างสรรค์เป็นแนวคิดหลัก เพื่อใช้ในการสื่อสารการตลาดตามแนวคิดหมู่บ้านเฉพาะเรื่อง (Thematic Villages) โดยมีเครื่องมือหลัก คือ การประชาสัมพันธ์ผ่านสื่อออนไลน์ของชุมชน ร่วมกับการเผยแพร่ข่าวสารผ่านสื่อมวลชน การจัดกิจกรรมพิเศษและการร่วมกิจกรรมของหน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้อง ทั้งนี้ ชุมชนยังขาดการบูรณาการเครื่องมือทางการสื่อสารการตลาด

Most people are familiar with the concept of Facebook video ads. Facebook offers enormous features to place in-feed video ads to promote products. An online survey was conducted at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, South Dakota. The survey looked for user motivations for viewing Facebook video ads. The conceptual framework for this study was chosen as the Uses and Gratifications Theory. Much research has been completed on the forms of crime control theater (CCT), and the impact that the existence of CCT laws have on society. Research on CCT laws has shown that they are definitively unsuccessful in providing the safety they were created to provide. This thesis will utilize completed research to explain the main psychological phenomena holding people back from decreasing their support for CCT laws. It will also describe proven methods of correcting misinformation in order to change the perceptions of people who support crime control theater laws, and provide suggestions for how research should be continued.

Online incivility that occurs in the comment sections of social media sites has become increasingly prevalent. Much of this incivility occurs in the context of political debate. Previous research has indicated that heated political debates online can lead to increased levels of emotional distress and that individuals have the capacity to become addicted to a variety of activities that take place on the internet.
