The San Antonio Public Service Company has approved an extension of the Cincinnati Bus line to St. Mary’s, improving accessibility for students. University expansion is evident in increased enrollment, a larger faculty, and the enlargement of chemistry laboratories, while the summer session set a new enrollment record. One frequently hears disparagement and depreciation of the work of the mighty power called the Press. It seems a strangely human trait to notice flaws rather than good points. When two gossips get together the faults of their mutual acquaintances are thoroughly discussed, rather than the excellent characteristics they possess. Just so: when any given group discusses journalism, it seems the faults are overplayed in the discussion. An internationally famous sociologist sneers at the work of journalism and all its accomplishments . Dishonesty, fraud and untruthfulness in advertising have been accorded space in works of authors ranging from a few lines or a paragraph to several pages or an entire chapter. It is estimated that the loss in health and morale due to this advertising is tremendous and the loss in· money runs into millions of dollars each year.
These facts have been placed before advertisers; advertising agencies, publishers and to some consumers. With these facts the question was put, "What can be done about it?"
