Feline calicivirus (FCV) is wildly known as one of the significant causative viral pathogens causing self-limited upper respiratory tract and oral disease in cats. In the last decade, severe FCV form, as named a virulent systemic feline calicivirus (VS-FCV), has distinctly emerged worldwide even though commercially available vaccines for FCV are typically used in Thai cats. Rabies is a neuro-fatal disease, causing by rabies virus (RABV) infection. Two serological tests, recommended by the World Health Organization and the World Organization for Animal Health, namely the rapid fluorescent focus inhibition test (RFFIT) and the fluorescent antibody virus neutralization test (FAVN) are considered gold standard. However, as both the RFFIT and FAVN require the use of live viruses, they raise biosafety concerns. Moreover, the immunostaining step in both methods is costly and time-consuming. Duck Tembusu virus (DTMUV) is an emerging flavivirus that causes severe nervous and systemic diseases in avian hosts. The virus has been classified into three clusters, and the predominant cluster in Thailand is cluster 2.1. The pathogenesis of the virus has been extensively studied in avian hosts but not in mammalian hosts. Therefore, the first objective of this dissertation was to investigate the viral pathogenesis in mammalian hosts. Six-week-old BALB/c mice were intracerebrally and subcutaneously inoculated with Thai DTMUV to examine clinical signs, pathological change, viral load, and virus distribution. This study aimed to analyze the situation of knowledge, attitude, and practice (KAP) of sheep and goat farmers and community animal health staff towards the prevention and control of brucellosis. A total of 1,067 sheep and goat farmers and 401 community animal health staff from seven provinces in China were participated in this study from 2017 to 2018. Two structured questionnaire were used to examine demographic characteristics and KAP related to brucellosis. Descriptive statistics were used for demographic characteristics and KAP. For this reason, research on probiotics for Campylobacter control in poultry is required. This study describes the etiological agent of Vibriosis along with its distribution and antimicrobial resistance profiles among farmed Asian sea bass (Lates calcarifer) in Thailand. The study isolated 283 Vibrionaceae from 15 Asian sea bass farms located around the provinces of the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand coasts to uncover the distribution and antimicrobial resistance profiles. Aeromonas is an important bacterial pathogen in freshwater fishes. This study aimed to investigate the distribution and diversity of Aeromonas spp. including their antimicrobial resistance patterns. 86 Aeromonas isolates were collected from diseased fish in 13 fish farms around Thailand. Biochemical tests, MALDI-TOF MS, PCR assays, and the gyrB gene sequence analysis were used to identify all isolates. MALDI-TOF MS confirmed 100% (86 isolates) at the genus level and 88.4% (76 isolates) at the species level. The growing cases of colistin resistance due to plasmid mediated mcr genes family in Enterobacteriaceae is catastrophic to public health. In this study, our team performed the nation-wide surveillance of mcr-positive Escherichia coli (MCRPE) in healthy pigs across Thailand. Then we monitored longitudinally over the representative pig farm after colistin was withdrawn and genomic characterization was carried out. Among the 696 samples collected from 49 provinces of Thailand, the low carriage rate of mcr-1 or combination of mcr-1 and mcr-3 (4.45% and 0.43%) were detected. Tilapia is the world's second most important farmed fish species, following carp. Bangladesh is the world's fourth-largest tilapia producer and has largely adopted fish polyculture. Few research on factors associated with mortality and economic losses following such deaths have been undertaken in Bangladesh due of its perceived hardiness.
