To confirm a causative allergen in atopic dogs could test through intradermal skin testing (IDT) or allergen-specific IgE serology testing (ASIS). ASIS is more practical, convenient and safer. However, the results of ASIS could be affected by source and type of allergen. Crude allergen extracts were still used in commercial testing and protein antigens of skin microbes were not included in the panel of testing. Vibrio parahaemolyticus is the leading cause of seafood borne gastroenteritis in many countries including Thailand. It is a gram-negative, halophilic bacterium which was normally found in estuarine environment and seafood. The infection usually occurred from consuming raw, inadequate cooked, or cross-contaminated seafood. Risk assessment is a scientific tool to evaluate health hazard from V. parahaemolyticus infection. Influenza A viruses (IAVs) can infect several animal species and humans. In Thailand, free-grazing ducks are reservoir hosts of influenza A virus. The free-grazing ducks are potentially interface with wild birds and domestic birds and subsequently cause interspecies transmission of IAVs. This thesis composes of three study phases. Phase 1 is surveillance of influenza A in free-grazing ducks. Phase 2 is genetic characterization and diversity analysis of influenza A viruses from free-grazing ducks. This study aimed to determine the occurrence, geographical distribution and genetic diversity of tick and mosquito-borne protozoa and rickettsia in buffaloes by the PCR – sequencing approach. A total of 456 blood samples were collected in provinces of Thailand including Mukdahan, Uthai Thani, Lampang, Amnat Charoen, Nong Bua Lamphu, Phatthalung, Surin and Chachoengsao. DNA was extracted from buffalo blood and screened for the presence of pathogens, followed by sequencing. The results indicated that the overall prevalence of rickettsia, protozoa, and malaria were 41%, 25.4%, and 12.9% respectively. Canine parvovirus (CPV-2) emerged and caused severe enteritis in dogs since the 1970s. The last variant, CPV-2c is considered as the high virulent strain and spread ubiquitous worldwide. This strain was early detected in Vietnam since 2002, but the whole genome is still fragmentary. In this study, we attempted to gain the whole genome of CPV-2c from the Vietnamese infected dogs as the first report of the full-length CPV-2c sequence originated from Asia. Ice binding protein such as antifreeze protein (AFP) type III have been used as a cryoprotectant and proven to improve sperm survival in some species but dog. Addition of Equex STM paste to semen freezing medium provides beneficial effects on cryopreserved dog sperm. Hence, the objectives of this study were to (a) evaluate the effects of AFP (Experiment I) and (b) its combination with Equex STM paste on cryopreserved dog spermatozoa (Experiment II). Current approach for diabetes treatment remained several adverse events varied from gastrointestinal to life-threatening symptoms. Regenerative therapy regarding Edmonton protocol has been facing serious limitations involving protocol efficiency and safety. This led to the study for alternative insulin-producing cell (IPC) resource and transplantation platform. In this study, evaluation of encapsulated human dental pulp stem cell (hDPSC)-derived IPCs (hDPSC-IPCs) by alginate (ALG) and pluronic F127-coated alginate (ALGPA) was performed. The results showed that ALG and ALGPA preserved hDPSC viability and allowed glucose and insulin diffusion in and out. According to no CLSI standard, the determination of antimicrobial efficacy has been limited phenotypically; the genomics study is required. This research aims to analyze the resistome of A. veronii isolated from diseased Tilapia in Chainat, Nong Khai and Uttaradit province, Thailand. Brachycephalic airway obstruction syndrome (BAOS) is an anatomical abnormality of upper airway commonly found in brachycephalic breeds leading to clinical signs and physical capacity impairment. The purposes of this study were to compare clinical signs and physical capacity in French bulldogs between before and after surgical correction using questionnaire and 6-minute walk test (6-MWT). Twenty-seven French bulldogs were enrolled in this study and divided into normal group (n=7) and BAOS group (n=20). Avian colibacillosis (AC) is frequently reported from poultry farms in the west of Iran. The aim of the present survey was to evaluate the phylogeny of Escherichia coli isolated from AC through the Clermont triplex protocol and gyrA gene sequencing. The present study aimed to monitor the practices of Algerian veterinarians in the diagnosis and treatment of puerperal metritis (PM) and clinical endometritis (CE) in cattle. For this purpose, a questionnaire was established and distributed to collect the information concerning veterinarian profiles and practices related to the diagnosis and treatment of PM and CE. The results showed that examinations of the uterus (rectal palpation), vaginal discharge, and rectal temperature were the most practiced methods for PM (71%, 68%, and 83%, respectively) and CE (86%, 60%, and 65%, respectively) diagnosis. In this study, the effects of feeding with the diets containing hazelnut meal (HM) at different levels (0%, 15%, 30%, and 45%) on the growth performance and body composition of Siberian sturgeon were investigated. The study was carried out for 90 days with 3 replicates (n = 15; 283.1 ± 6.52 g fish weight). The highest weight gain (180.62 ± 2.84%) was observed in the control group followed by 15%, 30%, and 45% HM. The aim of this study was to evaluate milk glutathione peroxidase (GPx) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) levels in Damascus goats with subclinical mastitis. According to the somatic cell counts (SCCs), 193 Damascus goats included in the study were divided into healthy (n = 75; SCC 0.05). In summary, a significant increase in GPx and decrease in SOD levels, respectively, were determined in goat milk samples with subclinical mastitis, and these changing trends were correlated with milk SCCs. However, age, parity, and number of offspring were not associated with these changing patterns.

This study was designed to evaluate serum and electrocardiographic (ECG) changes in cattle with foot-and-mouth disease (FMD). Thirty-two cows with clinical signs of FMD and 13 healthy cows were randomly enrolled. After blood sampling, ECG was performed on 23 of the 32 ill cows. Serum circulatory troponin I (cTnI), CPK, LDH, and CK-MB activities were determined in the patient and control groups. Arrhythmias including ventricular tachycardia (VT), sinus tachycardia (ST), atrial fibrillation (AF), and premature ventricular complex (PVC) were seen in 4, 4, 2, and 1 of the patients, respectively. A 5-year-old Swedish Red cow, pregnant for 465 days according to the last insemination record, was presented in this case. She conceived by artificial insemination at spontaneous estrus using frozen-thawed sperm of Swedish Red sire. No abnormalities were detected during gestation and no clinical signs of parturition at the expected time of delivery were noted. She was reexamined several times to eliminate breeding records error and, once prolonged gestation was confirmed, parturition was induced. The calf survived birth but died 10 min after birth. This study was carried out to assess the effect of the incorporation of detoxified argan press cake on milk yield, physicochemical composition, and microbial quality of raw Alpine goat milk produced in the Meskala-Essaouira region of southwestern Morocco. The detoxification method, adopted for the removal of saponin present in the argan press cake, succeeded in reducing these antinutrients from 4.56 to 0.4 mg/g, allowing it to be used as livestock feed. The aim of this study was to investigate nonesterified fatty acid (NEFA), beta-hydroxy butyric acid (BHBA), and milk urea nitrogen (MUN) profiles for dairy cows fed with rumen-protected choline (RPC) during the transition period. A total of 30 dairy cows were allocated to one control and two experimental groups (10 animals per group) and were fed from 3 weeks before calving to 21 days in milk. The aim of this study was to evaluate the serological diagnostic potential of the Brucella recombinant outer membrane (rOMP25, rOMP31) and periplasmic proteins (rBP26, rSOD) in a comparative way using an indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (i-ELISA). Rabbit and/or mouse antibodies to Brucella whole cell and/or soluble protein preparations recognized all recombinant proteins used, which confirms the expression of target antigens in E. coli in active form. The recombinant proteins showed different antigenicity to antibodies of cattle kept on a brucellosis-affected (endemic) farm and/or a new focus of infection. The aim of this study was to analyze the biological components of eggs as well as lysozyme activity in relation to the age of hens. The research material consisted of eggs from parent stock of Ross 308 meat chickens. The eggs were evaluated at peak laying, i.e. eggs from 30-week-old hens, and after peak laying, i.e. from hens aged 60 weeks. Ninety eggs were evaluated in each period (180 eggs in total).
