The purpose of the present study was to examine the walking phases in horses using the OptoGait system, which works with optical sensors. In this pilot study, 52 healthy horses were used. For each horse, an average of 45 steps were examined. The stance phase, swing phase, step distance, and walking speeds of the horses were recorded. The stance phase of each step was examined in a separate manner in 3 steps: contact phase, foot flat, and propulsive phase. The aim of this study was to produce biosurfactants from whey waste using Streptococcus thermophilus, Lactobacillus acidophilus, and Lactobacillus rhamnosus as well as to determine oil spreading, emulsification index, surface tension, and antiadhesive properties in these biosurfactants. Additionally, the capability of biosurfactant production from whey waste in the dairy industry was compared with that of MRS broth, a commercial culture medium. The presence of biosurfactants by all lactic acid bacteria was detected using the oil spreading test. The purpose of this study was to examine resistance against cadmium (Cd$^{+2}$), copper (Cu$^{+2}$), lead (Pb$^{+2}$), mercury (Hg$^{+2}$), and manganese (Mn$^{+2}$) in Escherichia coli isolates recovered from cattle stool using phenotypic (agar dilution) and genotypic [polymerase chain reaction (PCR)] methods. In addition, the isolates were genotyped via enterobacterial repetitive intergenic consensus polymerase chain reaction (ERIC-PCR). Escherichia coli was isolated and identified from the 100 stool samples that were examined in the study. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of SV technology on conception rates in repeat breeder multiparous dairy cows. Seventy-nine multiparous Holstein cows from a private dairy farm were used in the study. These animals were cows that had failed to conceive from at least 3 regularly spaced services (repeat breeders). The present study was planned to isolate Escherichia coli from pneumonic and septicemic sheep and goats and to determine antimicrobial resistance (AMR) patterns of the isolates and evaluate them for the presence of extended-spectrum ß-lactamase (ESBL) using the phenotypic and molecular methods. Neospora caninum is a major, cosmopolitan, protozoan parasite associated with abortion in cattle and water buffaloes. In this study, real-time PCR was used for the detection and quantification of the burden of N. caninum infections in aborted fetuses in the Middle Black Sea Region and Sivas Province of Turkey. In total, N. caninum DNA was detected in 44 of the 89 (49.4%) aborted fetuses of the cattle and water buffalo from 89 different farms. This paper presents the zooarchaeological observations on animal remains of Alaybeyi Höyük unearthed from 2016 and 2017 excavation sessions. Dated to 4721-4553 cal. BC, Alaybeyi stands so far as the oldest archaeological settlement discovered in northeast Anatolia. Therefore, the faunal assemblage at Alaybeyi offers great opportunity to study the status of animals and their relationships with humans in the largely unexplored Kars-Erzurum plateau covering a period from the Chalcolithic to Late Iron Age. Thirty-five Anatolian water buffalo were selected from among a total of almost 7000 animals from 11 herds in the Kızılırmak Delta, which is known to be one of the most important areas for water buffalo farming in Turkey. The cleaved amplified polymorphic sequences (CAPS) method was used to identify single-nucleotide polymorphisms at 3 loci that are associated with milk production, namely PRL, CSN3, and PIT-1, which are associated with milk processing and milk yields, respectively. Experiments were carried out to determine the effect of 2-phenoxyethanol to reduce stress response during the transportation of Russian and Siberian sturgeons. In transportation experiment 1 (TE$_{1}$), Siberian sturgeons (687.2 ± 17.41 g) were stocked in tanks and transported for 90 min (stocking density = 65 ± 0.71 kg/$m^{3}$). Prevalence of gastrointestinal (GI) parasites and the effect of associated factors were evaluated in household dogs from an urban area of Córdoba, Argentina. A total of 493 fecal samples were collected during 2010 and 2013 and processed with Willis` salt, Sheathers sugar flotation, and formol-ether concentration techniques. Overall prevalence of GI parasites was 45.23% (95% CI 40.83-49.62), and Ancylostoma caninum (30.83%) was the most frequent parasite, followed by Trichuris vulpis (9.94%), Cystoisospora spp. (7.71%), Toxocara canis (6.90%), and Giardia spp. (5.88%). The aim of this study was to compare the analyses of sperm homogenization methods. The semen of four rams were used in the study. The viability and body measurements of calves raised in the Livestock Research Center of Afyon Kocatepe University between 2008 and 2011 were investigated. The research was conducted on 188 calves of buffalo cows brought from different regions of Turkey. This study was undertaken to determine the prevalence and antimicrobial resistance pattern of extraintestinal pathogenic Escherichia coli (ExPEC) in the feces of healthy poultry and retail chicken. All 146 E. coli recovered from 351 samples were screened by PCR for detection of ExPEC strains. Nineteen (13.01%) isolates were confirmed as ExPEC. Distribution of ExPEC strains was revealed as follows: broiler (25%), layer (15.87%), and raw chicken (3.12%). Turkey, duck, and water samples were negative for ExPEC strains. This study was conducted to detect polymorphisms of BPI gene exon 10 by PCR-RFLP in Meishan pigs and their associations with some important cytokine levels (IL-1ß, IL-4, IL-6, IL-8, IL-10, TGF-1ß, IFN-γ, TNF-α) and reproductive traits (total number born (TNB), number born alive (NBA), birth litter weight (BLW), and weaning litter weight (WLW)), with the aim of identifying effective genetic markers for molecular breeding. The mouse mandibular gland contains granular ducts, which possess a particular structure. They are termed granular ducts because they contain numerous granules in the cells lining them, having a secretory activity. We aimed to assess the secretory mechanism in granular ducts. Consequently, we harvested the mandibular glands from five male mice and processed them for histological investigations. A large number of cells appeared intact, without obvious distortions or disruptions in the cell membrane. In this report, we provide clinical information on the diagnosis of postretinal blindness in veterinary ophthalmology. We have diagnosed three dogs with postretinal blindness (bilateral in one case and in the left eye in two cases). The electroretinogram results were normal and the optic axis was relatively clear in all cases. Our findings indicate that the reason for the blindness in these dogs was an intracranial lesion. Malignant oral mass such as melanoma, oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) and fibrosarcoma covers approximately 59% of canine oral neoplasia. Among these, canine oral melanoma (COM) is the most common oral tumors in dogs, with approximately 30–40% of all oral tumors. Radiolocations (108) of 20 black bears were used to assess use or avoidance of 3 forest road types in western Washington. Distances of bears to each type of road were compared to distances of 108 random points using t-tests. Females and males avoided 2-lane roads, while only males avoided 1-lane roads, the most common road type in the area. Females, but not males, were located closer to overgrown, spur roads than expected.
