Traumatic heterotopic ossification (tHO) refers to the complication of pathological formation of ectopic bone in soft tissues, which follows tissue insult secondary to burn, neurological and orthopaedic injury [2]. Common to these diagnoses is the involvement of central and or peripheral nervous system trauma. Although known risk factors are associated with developing tHO, the underlying cellular and molecular mechanisms are not fully understood. Research to date, primarily in single injury cohorts, has provided minimal translatable results [2]. Research indicates that female athletes have a higher risk of musculoskeletal injuries. Hormone fluctuations throughout the different periods of the menstruation cycle impacts the risk of injuries for women. Contraceptive use, most used in the form of an oral contraceptive pill, directly effects hormones and menstrual cycle related symptoms, with evidence of ameliorating some symptoms. Oral contraceptive use is suggested to influence musculoskeletal injuries in female athletes. This study presents a case of a 37-year-old woman who developed severe preeclampsia with heart failure at the 36th week of her first pregnancy, with a left ventricular ejection fraction of 25%. After delivering her twin babies via emergency Cesarian section, she was successfully weaned off mechanical ventilation and discharged in two weeks. We prescribed cardiac rehabilitation and assessed her functional recovery using cardiopulmonary exercise testing. During the 8 months after the delivery, we observed improvements in the left ventricular ejection fraction, peak oxygen uptake, anaerobic threshold, and oxygen uptake efficiency slope although improvement in oxygen pulse was limited. Hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) occurs when the brain is deprived of sufficient oxygen or blood flow, resulting in brain dysfunction. According to the relevant literature, no curative therapies are currently available for HIE-related lifelong disabilities. Regenerative rehabilitation employs regenerative technologies and cell therapy combined with conventional therapeutic exercises to restore normal function. This study used robotic-assisted gait training with the Lokomat and two infusions of human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (hUC-MSCs) to treat an adolescent with chronic HIE. Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate the correlation between Hemophilia Joint Health Score 2.1 (HJHS 2.1) and Hemophilia Early Arthropathy Detection with Ultrasound (HEAD-US) in Taiwanese patients with severe hemophilia and identify specific items within HJHS to predict early ultrasonic changes in hemophilic arthropathy (HA).

Methods: Thirty-six patients with a total of 210 joints were evaluated. We used Spearman's rank correlation coefficient to analyze the correlation between these two scales. The sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy of each HJHS item were also calculated to predict early HA.

Method: IRB approved this survey analysis study. The Modified Maryland TH Readiness Assessment Tool (mMTRAT) was distributed by email to all licensed PTs and PTAs in California in October 2020. One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to compare between-groups differences for continuous demographic data. This questionnaire included two standardized measures, the Opioid Overdose Knowledge Scale (OOKS) and the Opioid Overdose Attitude Scale (OOAS). PURPOSE: Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) is a neurodegenerative disease that ultimately requires a power wheelchair (PWC) as the main source of mobility. The purpose of this project was to determine the effectiveness of an educational video to prepare a client for a PWC assessment by addressing four themes: PWC features, home environment, transportation, and client self-efficacy.
