Faculty And Patient Evaluations Of Radiology Residents' Communication And Interpersonal Skills, Naila Nadeem, Abdul Mueed Zafar, Muhammad Nadeem Ahmad, Rukhsana Wamiq Zuberi

Objective: To assess communication and interpersonal skills (CIS) of radiology residents through faculty and standardised patients (SP).
Methods: In this day-long objective structured clinical examination (OSCE) in January 2009, 42 radiology residents took part at six stations in Karachi, each with a standardised patient and a faculty evaluator. Each encounter lasted 15 minutes followed by independent assessments of the residents by both the evaluators.
Results: Based on rating-scale evaluations, all cases had satisfactory internal consistency (Cronbach\'s alpha 0.6 to 0.9). The alpha values were comparatively diminutive against the checklist scores. Correlation among faculty was 0.6 (p

Objective. Our purpose was to investigate radiology fellowship directors' and recent fellows' experiences and perceptions with regard to the fellowship application and selection process and to compare these experiences and perceptions. Materials and Methods. Institutional review board approval was obtained. We conducted an online survey of the memberships of three radiology subspecialty societies between October 2009 and December 2009 to learn about radiologists' views regarding various aspects of radiology fellowships. How The Clinical Settings Of Radiography Programs Affect Learning Perceptions, Peggy Fortsch

A main purpose of clinical education is to prepare practitioners who can deliver excellent skills and care vital to the health and safety of persons in their care and to society. Clinical education is an essential component for students pursuing careers as health care providers. The purpose of this study was to examine the place of clinical experiences in radiography programs and to describe how students and clinical instructors in three different radiography program models (bridging, external, and internal) perceived the learning experiences in clinical settings.
