Improving emergency medical service (EMS) reporting into large state held databases is becoming more critical as electronic databases are increasingly used. There is little information on methods improving the accuracy of composite data entered, nor on directly improving reporting, into these databases. New Mexicos Department of Health has used an electronic medical record (EMR) for all emergency service pre-hospital documentation since 2009. 2012 database analysis showed poor reporting on Utstein variable, out-of-hospital arrests. Here authors are presenting a case of primary retroperitoneal tumour that is a rare clinical entity. A 19-year-old male presented with right lumbar pain and was found to have complex cyst with large calcification in right adrenal gland on imaging. This dissertation describes the experiences of people diagnosed with presumed ocular histoplasmosis syndrome as they participate in an online peer-support group on Facebook. This is a descriptive case study of factors related to adjustment, treatment, emotional distress, access to services, and online peer support. Participants were interviewed and observed, and documents were collected to describe this phenomenon.

We developed a quantitative method for detecting Listeria species in food using the DOXTM system. The system could detect low concentrations (10 cfu/ml) of Listeria monocytogenes, L. innocua, and L. welshimeri, and could not detect medium concentrations (103 cfu/ml) of the 29 non-Listeria organisms examined in this study. The relationship between detection time and bacterial count of the 3 Listeria species had a good linear calibration curve. We carried out a recovery examination by inoculating 15 food samples with L. monocytogenes, and each sample was examined 5 times. The current study aimed to assess the effect of using omega-3 concentrate to relieve coxofemoral osteoarthritic pain in dogs. In total, ten dogs with coxofemoral OA were orthopedically evaluated at the coxofemoral joints in order to grade the pain severity. Pain scores were assessed from lameness at walk and trot (1-6), pain on manipulation (1-3), and range of motion (1-4). Conventional wisdom holds that only one of the two strands in a micro ribonucleic acid (miRNA) precursor duplex is selected as the active miRNA guide strand. The complementary miRNA passenger strand, however, is thought to be inactive. The goal of this study is to use the improved imaging capability of cone-beam computerized tomography (CBCT) to investigate the relationship between vertical facial patterns and mandibular tooth-alveolar morphology in the adolescent population. Pre-treatment orthodontic records were obtained from the UNLV School of Dental Medicine archival dental records. One hundred and seventy three patients (72 males, 101 females) between the ages of 12 and 18 years were included in this study. BACKGROUND: M-M-R(TM)II (MMRII; Merck & Co) is currently the only measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine licensed in the United States. Another licensed vaccine would reinforce MMR supply. This study assessed the immunogenicity of a candidate vaccine (Priorix(TM), GlaxoSmithKline Vaccines [MMR-RIT]) when used as a first dose among eligible children in the United States.

Chikungunya virus (CHIKV) from a human sample collected during the 2005 Chikungunya outbreak in the Comoros Island, showed distinct and reproducible large (L2) and small (S7) plaques which were characterized in this study. The parent strain and plaque variants were analysed by in vitro growth kinetics in different cell lines and their genetic similarity assessed by whole genome sequencing, comparative sequence alignment and phylogenetic analysis. In vitro growth kinetic assays showed similar growth patterns of both plaque variants in Vero cells but higher viral titres of S7 compared to L2 in C6/36 cells.
