BACKGROUND: The incidence, predictors, and prognostic impact of post-discharge bleeding (PDB) after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) with drug-eluting stent (DES) implantation are unclear.

OBJECTIVES: This study sought to characterize the determinants and consequences of PDB after PCI.

METHODS: The prospective ADAPT-DES (Assessment of Dual Antiplatelet Therapy With Drug-Eluting Stents) study was used to determine the incidence and predictors of clinically relevant bleeding events occurring within 2 years after hospital discharge. The effect of PDB on subsequent 2-year all-cause mortality was estimated by time-adjusted Cox proportional hazards regression.

In this study, nine crude extracts from Thai plants in the Moraceae and Leguminosae families were screened for their immunoadjuvant activities on the proliferation of swine lymphocytes and the maturation of monocyte-derived dendritic cells (MoDCs). The study demonstrated that the total phenolic content was significantly higher in the extract from Artocarpus gomezianus (264.17±6.5 mg of gallic acid equivalents/gm of extract) than in the extracts from the other plants. The crude extract from the root bark of A. gomezianus significantly increased the proliferative response of peripheral blood mononuclear cells measured using both MTT and CFSE assays (p < 0.05). In addition, the A. gomezianus extract induced the maturation of MoDCs through major histocompatibility (MHC) Class II and CD80 expression. Constituents of phenolic compounds, in particular tannins and flavonoids in the gamma-benzopyrone nucleus group, may be important for the immunoadjuvant effect. The results of this study suggest that the extract from A. gomezianus have immunoadjuvant activities that may be developed as vaccine adjuvants.

Non-antibiotic feed additives have been developed to be used as alternatives, but none of them is effective as antibiotic growth promoters (AGPs). Understanding other mechanisms related to growth promoter of AGPs may be beneficial to the search for effective feed additives for animal production. In vitro and in vivo studies were conducted to evaluate the free radical scavenging activities of flavophospholipol and avilamycin. The in vitro study showed that flavophospholipol had a potent scavenging activity for DPPH, hydroxyl and nitric oxide radicals with the exception of superoxide anion radicals and their IC50 were 155.1, 62.6 and 105.6 mg/l, respectively. This study assessed the efficacy of intraarticular administration of hyaluronic acid on the treatment of canine osteoarthritis. After undergoing surgical correction of cranial cruciate ligament rupture, 16 dogs were divided into 2 groups, HA and control groups. Sapoviruses (SaVs) are emerging enteric pathogens that cause diarrhea in humans and animals. In the current study, genetic identification of sapovirus (SaV) in suckling piglets was investigated in Hunan province, China between May 2013 and May 2014. Diarrheic fecal (n=300) samples collected from suckling piglets in Hunan province, China were evaluated using RT-PCR and then sequenced. Overall, 45 of the 300 (15%) samples were found to contain porcine SaV. In addition, phylogenetic analysis showed that all the porcine SaV isolates belonged to the porcine SaV genogroup III (GIII). Despite evidence about the importance of discharge readiness, there is limited literature about the patient's view during this transition. Plasminogen activator inhibitor 1 (PAI-1), a major modulator of the fibrinolytic system, is an important factor in cardiovascular disease (CVD) susceptibility and severity. PAI-1 is highly heritable, but the few genes associated with it explain only a small portion of its variation. Studies of PAI-1 typically employ linear regression to estimate the effects of genetic variants on PAI-1 levels, but PAI-1 is not normally distributed, even after transformation. Therefore, alternative statistical methods may provide greater power to identify important genetic variants. Sistem informasi gizi (Sigizi) dikembangkan oleh Direktorat Bina Gizi Kementerian Kesehatan sejak 2011. Data Sigizi mencakup data penimbangan balita di posyandu, kasus gizi buruk, cakupan pemberian tablet Fe pada ibu hamil, konsumsi garam beryodium, pemberian vitamin A, dan ASI eksklusif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur kinerja pengelolaan Sigizi di Dinas Kesehatan Kota Tangerang Selatan menggunakan kerangka Health Metrics Network yang dikeluarkan oleh WHO tahun 2008. Sigizi merupakan sistem informasi yang diaplikasikan pada tingkat nasional dengan mekanisme pelaporan berjenjang, dari 508 kabupaten/kota menuju 34 provinsi dan bermuara di tingkat nasional.
