The Air Force Research Laboratory’s Supervisory Control Interfaces Branch (711HPW/RHCI) is conducting an advanced technology development program, entitled Multi-UAV Supervisory Control Interface Technology (MUSCIT). This program is focused on human systems integration; developing and integrating controls, displays, and decision support aids that enable a single operator control station to control multiple unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the performance of dynamic intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) tasks as well as close air support (CAS) missions. In recent years, breastfeeding has become the focus of public health in Ireland. Previous research has reported significant differences in breastfeeding initiation rates among Irish mothers (47.1%) and non-Irish mothers (79.6%) living in Ireland(1). While attitudes towards breastfeeding among Irish mothers have been previously described(2), such information on non-nationals is lacking, particularly among Chinese residing in Ireland. This study was undertaken to fill this information gap, describing the maternal attitudes towards breastfeeding among Chinese mothers living in Ireland. While most school districts utilize a drug abuse resistance curriculum, as science teachers, it is our responsibility to understand the science behind drug addiction in order to most effectively educate our students against drug abuse. In the last two decades, increases in scientific technology have permitted significant discoveries surrounding the neurobiology, genetic components, and treatment of drug addition. This article addresses the latest scientific knowledge about drug addition and treatment with information that can be used in the middle school setting, focusing on cocaine addiction to illustrate the points discussed. การรั่วซึมระดับไมครอนของสารยึดติดสามชนิดที่มีการปรับเปลี่ยนขั้นตอนการใช้งาน, ชุตินาฏ อินทกนก, ศิริวิมล ศรีสวัสดิ์

วัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อประเมินการรั่วซึมระดับไมครอนของโพรงฟันชนิดคลาสไฟว์ที่บูรณะด้วยเรซินคอมโพสิตเมื่อใช้ สารยึดติด 3 ชนิดตามคําแนะนําของบริษัทผู้ผลิต เปรียบเทียบกับเมื่อใช้สารยึดติดโดยการปรับวิธีการใช้ วัสดุและวิธีการ นําฟันกรามน้อยที่ถูกถอนของมนุษย์ 60 ปี กรอเตรียมโพรงฟันชนิดคลาสไฟว์ทําการบูรณะด้วย เรซินคอมโพสิต โดยสารยึดติดที่ใช้ ได้แก่ ออปติบอนด์เอฟแอล เคลียร์ฟิลเอสอีบอนด์ และเคลียร์ฟิลไตรเอสบอนด์ แบ่งเป็นกลุ่มที่ใช้ตามคําแนะนําของบริษัทผู้ผลิต เป็นกลุ่มควบคุมเปรียบเทียบกับกลุ่มที่ใช้สารยึดติด โดยมีการปรับ วิธีการใช้ หลังจากผ่านเครื่องเทอร์มอไซคลิง 5,000 รอบแล้วนํามาทดสอบการรั่วซึม ประเมินและวิเคราะห์ผลการ รั่วซึมด้วยสถิติทดสอบไคสแควร์ และวิลคอกซัน ชายน์ แรงค์ ที่ระดับความเชื่อมั่น 95% ผลการศึกษา เคลียร์ฟิลเอสอีบอนด์มีการรั่วซึมที่เคลือบฟันน้อยลงเมื่อเปรียบเทียบกับกลุ่มควบคุมเมื่อกัดผิว เคลือบฟันด้วยกรดฟอสฟอริกก่อนทาสารยึดติด แต่ไม่มีนัยสําคัญทางสถิติ เคลียร์ฟิลไตรเอสบอนด์ มีการรั่วซึมที่ เคลือบฟันลดลงอย่างมีนัยสําคัญเมื่อปรับเปลี่ยนวิธีการใช้งานเมื่อเปรียบเทียบกับกลุ่มควบคุม ออปติบอนด์เอฟแอล ที่ปรับเปลี่ยนวิธีการใช้งานมีการรั่วซึมที่เนื้อฟันน้อยลงอย่างมีนัยสําคัญเมื่อเปรียบเทียบกับกลุ่มควบคุม สรุป การใช้เคลียร์ฟิลเอสบอนด์ตามคําแนะนําของบริษัทผู้ผลิตเปรียบเทียบกับการใช้กรดฟอสฟอริกกัดที่ผิวเคลือบฟันมีประสิทธิภาพป้องกันการรั่วซึมที่เคลือบฟันไม่แตกต่างกัน ตรงข้ามกับเคลียร์ฟิลไตรเอสบอนด์ ซึ่งการรั่วซึมลดลงอย่างมีนัยสําคัญที่เคลือบฟันที่มีการใช้กรดกัดก่อน เปรียบเทียบกับกลุ่มที่ใช้ตามคําแนะนําของผู้ผลิตสําหรับออปติบอนด์เอฟแอล การปรับสภาพเนื้อฟันด้วยไพรม์เมอร์เพียงอย่างเดียวพบว่าลดการรั่วซึมที่เนื้อฟัน ลงอย่างมีนัยสําคัญ (ว ทันต จุฬาฯ 2552;32:23-38)

This was a descriptive study that assessed school nurses' perceptions of health-promoting behavior. A sample of 33 school nurses was asked to complete the Health Promotion Lifestyle Profile II (HPLP-II) to measure their health-promoting lifestyle. The HPLP-II is a Likert-styled instrument that consists of 52 items divided among six subscales. The six subscales are: (1) health responsibility; (2) physical activity; (3) nutrition; (4) interpersonal relations; (5) spiritual growth and; (6) stress management. The findings indicated that the nurses perceived interpersonal relationships and spiritual growth to be components of their health-promoting behavior as evidenced by higher mean scores in those two …

Background. African American women are more likely to have breast cancer diagnosed at a later stage than Caucasian women and with a five year death rate 1.5 times greater than Caucasian women. Mammography screening detects breast cancer in its early stages and can reduce mortality.

Objective. To examine factors influencing early detection of breast cancer for African American women.

Already facing a national hospital and long-term care registered nurse (RN) shortage, the current number of potential nurse candidates successfully completing baccalaureate nursing programs (BNPs) is not sufficient to meet the estimated demand for baccalaureate-prepared nurses in the United States of America (U.S.) and worldwide. Yet program attrition due to varying reasons leads to graduating nursing classes that are below the clinical program's admission limit in a particular BNP in the Southeastern U.S.--often considerably lower. Child obesity among school age children is epidemic in the United States (U.S.). A critical review of literature was completed that concluded that Body Mass Index (BMI) screening for early identification and growth surveillance is needed for successful school-based obesity prevention intervention programs. This study used total survey design methods to identify the BMI screening practices of school nurses (SNs) and to identify the facilitating factors and barriers to BMI screening in public elementary schools among school age populations. วัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อศึกษาอุบัติการณ์และรูปแบบความผิดปกติของขากรรไกรในผู้ป่วยไทยที่มีโครงสร้างกะโหลก ศีรษะประเภท II ในเพศชายและเพศหญิง รวมทั้งเปรียบเทียบความแตกต่างระหว่างเพศ วัสดุและวิธีการ กลุ่มตัวอย่างได้จากการคัดเลือกแบบเฉพาะเจาะจง จากผู้ที่มารับการรักษาทางทันตกรรมจัดฟัน ที่คณะทันตแพทยศาสตร์ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย จํานวน 100 คน (ชาย 50 หญิง 50 คน) อายุ 18-43 ปี มีค่ามุมเอเอ็นบีมากกว่าหรือเท่ากับ 6 องศา นําภาพรังสีวัดศีรษะด้านข้างก่อนการรักษาของกลุ่มตัวอย่างมา ลอกลาย วัดค่าที่แสดงลักษณะขากรรไกรบนและล่างในแนวหน้าหลัง ได้แก่ มุมเอสเอ็นเอ ความยาวขากรรไกร บน มุมแม็กซิลลารีเด็พ มุมเอสเอ็นบี ความยาวขากรรไกรล่าง มุมเฟเชียลเด็จ วัดค่าที่แสดงลักษณะในแนวดิ่ง ของโครงสร้างใบหน้าและขากรรไกร ได้แก่ มุมเฟเชียลแอ็กซิส มุมระนาบแฟรงค์ฟอร์ต ความสูงใบหน้าส่วนล่าง ความสูงใบหน้าส่วนหลัง มุมแมนดิบูลาอาร์ค นําค่าที่วัดได้เทียบกับค่าปกติของคนไทยที่ใช้ในคณะทันตแพทยศาสตร์ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย เพื่อจําแนกตําแหน่งและความสัมพันธ์ของส่วนโค้งแนวฟันบนและล่างของกลุ่มตัวอย่าง เป็นสามกลุ่ม (โดยใช้การผ่านเกณฑ์ 2 ใน 3) ได้แก่ ตําแหน่งถอยหลัง ตําแหน่งปกติ และตําแหน่งยื่นไป ทางด้านหน้า ในแนวดิ่ง (โดยใช้การผ่านเกณฑ์ 3 ใน 5) จําแนกเป็นโครงสร้างกะโหลกศีรษะแบบสบลึก แบบสบ ปกติ และแบบสบเปิด หาอัตราการเกิดความผิดปกติของโครสร้างกะโหลกศีรษะชนิดต่างๆ และเปรียบเทียบความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างเพศกับลักษณะโครงสร้างโดยใช้ค่าสถิติไคสแควร์ ผลการศึกษา กลุ่มตัวอย่างมีโครงสร้างกะโหลกศีรษะในแนวหน้าหลังเป็นแบบขากรรไกรบนและขากรรไกรล่าง อยู่ในตําแหน่งปกติมากที่สุดทั้งในเพศชายและเพศหญิง (ร้อยละ 44 และ 46 ตามลําดับ) ลักษณะที่พบมากเป็น ลําดับสองในเพศชาย คือ ขากรรไกรบนยื่นร่วมกับขากรรไกรล่างอยู่ในตําแหน่งปกติ (ร้อยละ 24) ในเพศหญิง คือ ขากรรไกรบนอยู่ในตําแหน่งปกติร่วมกับขากรรไกรล่างอยู่ในตําแหน่งถอยหลัง (ร้อยละ 26) ลักษณะในแนวดิ่งพบ ว่ากลุ่มตัวอย่างมีลักษณะโครงสร้างกะโหลกศีรษะแบบสบปกติเป็นจํานวนมากที่สุด (ร้อยละ 46) ซึ่งใกล้เคียงกัน กับโครงสร้างกะโหลกศีรษะแบบสบเปิด (ร้อยละ 41) เมื่อพิจารณาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างเพศกับลักษณะโครงสร้าง กะโหลกศีรษะทั้งแนวหน้าหลังและแนวดิ่งพบว่าไม่มีความแตกต่างอย่างมีนัยสําคัญทางสถิติ สรุป การศึกษาลักษณะโครงสร้างกะโหลกศีรษะประเภท II …

Crystallization is the most serious bottleneck in high-throughput protein-structure determination by diffraction methods. We have used data mining of the large-scale experimental results of the Northeast Structural Genomics Consortium and experimental folding studies to characterize the biophysical properties that control protein crystallization. This analysis leads to the conclusion that crystallization propensity depends primarily on the prevalence of well-ordered surface epitopes capable of mediating interprotein interactions and is not strongly influenced by overall thermodynamic stability. We identify specific sequence features that correlate with crystallization propensity and that can be used to estimate the crystallization probability of a given construct. Analyses of …

Key Findings: Just over one-third of all children with a mental health problem received a mental health visit in the past year; Controlling for other characteristics that affect access to care, rural children are 20% less likely to have a mental health visit than urban children; Having Medicaid or SCHIP increases the likelihood that a child will receive services, and this is pronounced in rural areas.

Ineffectiveness of prescription drugs, hidden drug hazards, and advertising violations have led to several drug recalls and numerous lawsuits against pharmaceutical companies in recent years. These suits have involved several varieties of medications, but psychoactive medications have figured especially prominently. A recent $1.4 billion settlement by Eli Lilly & Company related to improper promotion of its top-selling drug olanzapine included the largest individual corporate criminal fine in U.S. history.

Improper promotion is far from the sole reason why olanzapine and other “second-generation” antipsychotic (SGA) drugs have become so successful. Rather, the widespread adoption of SGAs represents a collective judgment error …
