Defining Sexual Assault, Consent, And Resources To Empower Students: A Dnp Project, Sarah Powers Mar 2025

Defining Sexual Assault, Consent, And Resources To Empower Students: A Dnp Project, Sarah Powers

SACAD: Scholarly Activities

Abstract

Sexual assault (SA) remains a pervasive issue on college campuses in the United States, often compounded by underreporting and a lack of knowledge about available resources. This Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) project aims to educate first-year college students about SA, sexual consent, and available resources to empower students in preventing assaults and seeking help when needed. The intervention, which was integrated into mandatory freshman seminars at a four-year university, was guided by Knowles' Adult Learning Theory. A presentation provided critical information, and knowledge gains were assessed through pre- and post-presentation surveys. Initial findings indicated significant increases in understanding …

Application Of Quantum Entanglement To Explain The Healing Mechanism By Highly Diluted Homoeopathic Medicines, Bijay Krishna Chaudhuri, Biswadeep Chaudhuri Mar 2025

Application Of Quantum Entanglement To Explain The Healing Mechanism By Highly Diluted Homoeopathic Medicines, Bijay Krishna Chaudhuri, Biswadeep Chaudhuri

Indian Journal of Research in Homoeopathy

Background: The healing mechanism of highly diluted homoeopathic medicines (DHM) is not yet very clear.

Objectives: Our objective is to apply the concepts of entropy, information, and quantum mechanical principle of entanglement to find a model for explaining the healing mechanism of DHM.

Methodology: All living or non-living things are composed of dynamic microscopic quantum particles (electrons, protons, ions, etc.) which follow the basic properties of quantum mechanics such as quantum entanglement, superposition of quantum states and coherent interaction among these particles. The continuous change of thermodynamic entropies of the dynamic living cells leads to information change for cellular communication …

Role Of Homoeopathic Treatment For Symptom Management And Improving Quality Of Life In Severe Psoriatic Disease: A Case Report, Kapil Das, Gautam Pal

Indian Journal of Research in Homoeopathy

Introduction: Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis (PsA) are the main phenotypes of psoriatic disease. PsA is a chronic inflammatory arthritis, associated with psoriasis that can cause joint damage and can severely impact a patient’s quality of life (QoL).

Case Summary: A 21-yearold male suffering from PsA for three years presented in the outpatient department. He was previously treated with different methods of treatment without much relief. Clinically along with psoriatic rash, patient reported swelling, pain and stiffness of joints, causing restriction of movement. In addition, patient also presented with ophthalmic and gastric complaints. After a thorough clinical evaluation, Phosphorus in increasing …

Management Of Epilepsy With Individualised Homoeopathic Medicine Lachesis In Millesimal Potency: An Evidence-Based Case Report, Jayashree Nanda, Sujata Choudhury

Indian Journal of Research in Homoeopathy

Introduction: Epilepsy can be defined as a seizure disorder due to a change in electric activity in the brain which comprises a variety of disorders due to underlying brain dysfunction which increases the pre-disposition for seizures. It is a serious public health problem that affects the normal activity and quality of life of an individual. Homoeopathic medicines are successfully used for the treatment of epilepsy. Hence, research is needed with documentation of well-defined case reports. Here we present a case of epilepsy which was cured by individualised homoeopathic medicine after repertorisation.

Case summary: A 52-year-old male presented with complaints of …

Arabian Journal of Pediatric Dentistry

Introduction: Background and aim of the research: Oral health and periodontal diseases constitute part of the oral problems in patients with cerebral palsy. Providing oral health care to these patients is extremely difficult due to some of their physical and physical disabilities. Given the existence of a link between oral health and physical health, it was necessary to think about In finding solutions to treat their gingivitis without exerting physical and mechanical effort on the part of the child and his family, and the fact that the use of oral rinses GEL is effective in alleviating gingivitis, it requires …

The Effect Of Transcutaneous Vagus Nerve Stimulation On Word Memory In Healthy Adults, Haylee Hurt, Cassandra Callahan, Olivia Galpin, Qiang Li Mar 2025

The Effect Of Transcutaneous Vagus Nerve Stimulation On Word Memory In Healthy Adults, Haylee Hurt, Cassandra Callahan, Olivia Galpin, Qiang Li

SACAD: Scholarly Activities

Transcutaneous vagus nerve stimulation (tVNS) is a non-invasive technique that has been demonstrated to reorganize the brain neural network based on neuroplasticity. Research shows that tVNS may enhance cognitive performance such as verbal memory, as it may elicit the release of key neurotransmitters, Gamma-aminobutyric Acid (GABA) and Noradrenaline, that modulate cognitive performance and learning. The current study hypothesizes that verbal memory as an important cognitive skill in healthy adults will be improved after receiving tVNS. Results showed that compared to the control group, participants in the experimental group improved their verbal memory manifested in faster reaction times and higher accuracy …

Health Literacy: Impact And Interventions, Elizabeth Simpson Mar 2025

Health Literacy: Impact And Interventions, Elizabeth Simpson

Lynchburg Journal of Medical Science

The objectives of this paper are to examine the connection between health literacy level and patient outcome, identify contributing factors of low health literacy, and identify ways in which providers and health literacy programs can promote health literacy on an individual and community level. I conducted a literature search using PubMed and Google Scholar in order to lend evidence to these objectives.

The results demonstrated a clear correlation between low health literacy levels and poor patient outcomes. Low health literacy is also correlated with reduced medication adherence, improper use of medication, more emergency department visits, and unhealthy habits during pregnancy …
