Background: Safe, reliable, and clean drinking water sources are a basic necessity. More than 1.7 million individuals rely on private wells for drinking water in Georgia and are confronted with water quality challenges stemming from chemical contamination as private wells are not under mandated regulations as public water supplies. In response to the COVID-19 global health crisis and mandated social isolation, Pediatric leadership at MD Anderson Children’s Cancer Hospital was concerned for the psychological impact on its workforce and encouraged wellness programming. A grassroots wellness taskforce was assembled for the Division of Pediatrics. The task force’s primary mission was to promote the well-being of clinicians and non-clinical staff members through a broadly accessible, sustainable, and effective virtual wellness program. This quality improvement study was conducted at a comprehensive cancer care center with the aim to decrease the percentage of on continuous infusion (CI) midazolam by 30% by May 5, 2023. The pre-intervention and post-intervention data collection phases occurred from January 1, 2022, to October 31, 2022, and March 7, 2023, to May 5, 2023, respectively. Sedation was assessed utilizing the Richmond Agitation and Sedation Scale (RASS), and delirium was assessed utilizing the Intensive Care Delirium Screening Checklist (ICDSC). Goals of care (GoC) refers to medical care decisions made by patients and families that are consistent with their personal values and preference choices. However, the oncology health care system does not always align with the patient’s GoC values and preferences. Clinical experts suggest formalized GoC education to improve this practice gap. Accordingly, MD Anderson Cancer Center implemented GoC training for front-line clinical staff using the evidence-based COMFORT Model to enhance the participants’ ability to have connected GoC conversations and enhance their comfort levels in responding to patients’ emotions. Background and Objectives

We previously reported that implementation of a department-wide opioid education program led to post-education improvements in opioid perceptions and prescription recommendations, with one-month and one-year retention. With ongoing programmatic and quality improvement efforts, we sought to re-evaluate the retention of these improvements five years after initial efforts.

Methods

Attending surgeons, clinical fellows, and advanced practice providers were surveyed five years after implementation of a comprehensive, departmental opioid reduction framework in August 2018. Sexual violence is a pervasive problem that has profound implications for survivors' physical and mental health. In oncology care, routine medical procedures can inadvertently trigger distress and retraumatization in survivors. This brief report outlines the principles of sensitive practice and their application in oncology care to support survivors of sexual violence. By showing respect, taking time, building rapport, sharing information, sharing control, respecting boundaries, promoting mutual learning, understanding nonlinear healing, and demonstrating an understanding of sexual violence, health care providers can create a safe and supportive environment. A new technique for impulse noise discrimination of medical MRI images is presented. Statistical F-distribution supported by Monte Carlo simulation for prediction of impulse noise location on distorted images is used. The selective noisy pixels are detected as noisy using the One-Way ANOVA hypothesis method. The statistical prediction method is applied to the test images to predict the noise location. The distorted portions in the images predicted by this structure are improved by using a proper nonlinear filter. It highlights exercises such as the positive introduction, positive legacy, character strengths, mindfulness, mindful-based yoga, and a manifestation prayer journaling. The interventions presented are tools to support older adults that may experience depression, difficult life transitions, and the search for renewed meaning. Introduction: Residency training is demanding and often leads to burnout. In 2017, Internal Medicine (IM) residents at our institution reported a poor collective residency experience. In response, we launched a longitudinal wellness program in 2018, featuring multi-pronged interventions to improve residents' well-being. The program, still active today, has undergone iterative modifications with ongoing input from residents.

Communication remains a central priority in healthcare, making it a key component of many training efforts. The positive impacts of communication training in healthcare settings have been well-established; however, the linkage of communication training to key organizational outcomes (e.g., engagement, performance, retention) remains underexplored. The present study investigated a training program targeting interpersonal communication within a large academic oncology center. Parkinson’s disease (PD) is characterized by asymmetrical motor symptoms that are difficult to detect early, thus the need for more sensitive tools. People with early PD (PwPD) participate in high level physical activity, are susceptible to injury, and in need of exercise professionals (EP). However, assessment tools used by EPs for healthy populations may be underutilized in PD. Background: Elderly individuals with physical and psychological challenges face a high risk of falls. This study aimed to assess the incidence, health effects of, and risk factors for falls among those aged 60-79 years old in Thailand's three southern border provinces.

Methods: A community cross-sectional study was conducted between October 2021 and September 2022. Questionnaires were administered though verbal face-to-face conversations. Descriptive statistics, the Chi-square test, Fisher’s exact test, and logistic regression were used.

A 5-year-old Pompitz presented with anorexia and vomiting. Radiographs showed a half-moon-shaped mass in the left cranial abdomen. A large cyst was identified near the left pancreas on ultrasound. Computed tomography revealed a fluid-attenuating mass with rim enhancement in the pancreas. Laboratory tests identified Staphylococcus warneri in the cystic lesion, and pancreatic pseudocyst with infection was suspected. The fluid accumulation and clinical signs recurred over several months. Long-duration space missions pose significant challenges to astronaut health, primarily due to the detrimental effects of microgravity on musculoskeletal and cardiovascular systems. This research proposal aims to address the critical gap between pre- and post-spaceflight physiological conditions, focusing on the marked decline in muscle mass, bone density, and cardiovascular function. Existing countermeasures, such as resistive exercise, are insufficient to prevent muscle atrophy and bone demineralization, highlighting the need for novel solutions. Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation (NMES) emerges as a promising intervention, capable of eliciting muscle contractions to maintain function and mitigate atrophy.
