Background: Depressive symptoms have been associated with activities of daily living (ADL) disability; however, evidence among Thai older adults remains limited and inconsistent. This study investigates the association between depressive symptoms and ADL disability in older Thai adults.

Methods: A cross-sectional analytic study was conducted among 312 older adults in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, who were selected using a multistage sampling method. Data were collected between April and July 2023 using structured questionnaires covering demographic and environmental variables. Healthcare Access And The Persistent Racial Disparities In Low Birth Weight, Zaheda A. Hussain, Yadanar Moe

Low birth weight (LBW), defined as less than 2,500 grams, is an influential factor contributing to infant mortality in the United States, with significant racial disparities between Black and White mothers. This study analyzed data from 3,054 Black and White mothers collected from the 2018 National Health Interview Survey to explore the association between access to medical care and LBW within different racial groups. The prevalence of LBW was 8.0%. Overall, mothers without a usual place of medical care had, on average, an 18% higher risk of LBW than those with a usual place (OR = 1.18, 95% CI: 0.80–1.74). …

Two pyridinediimine (PDI) ligands were synthesized using green chemistry principles to minimize environmental impact and maintain synthetic efficiency. Previous syntheses require hazardous solvents and long reaction times. The reaction was carried out with a safer solvent, ethanol, and more rapidly using a CEM Discover microwave reactor. The PDI ligand was chosen for the scaffold for the aromatic core and support for different aniline derivatives. Comparative investigation of aniline electronics showed that 2,6-dimethylaniline was more successful than the electron-withdrawing electronics of 2,6-dichloroaniline. Microplastic (MP) contamination in aquatic ecosystems poses significant concerns for environmental and public health, as seafood represents a critical food source worldwide. Despite increasing evidence of MP presence in marine organisms, efficient and accessible detection methods remain essential for characterizing contamination patterns and informing regulatory frameworks. Female human second metacarpal (mc2) bones from a medieval cemetery at Wharram Percy, England, were studied using high-energy Wide-Angle X-ray Scattering (WAXS) at beamline 1-ID of the Advanced Photon Source at Argonne National Laboratory. The age-at-death of 33 samples was determined from molar wear and classified into 3 groups:  18-30, 30-50, and 50+ years old.  Rietveld refinements of the WAXS data were performed to obtain lattice parameters of the hexagonal carbonated apatite phase (cAp). Fine particulate matter (PM₂.₅) poses significant risks to human health and disproportionately affects marginalized communities in urban environments (World Health Organization [WHO], 2021; Tessum et al., 2021). Using low-cost mobile sensors, this study explored spatiotemporal PM₂.₅ concentration patterns along a north–south transect of Halsted Street in Chicago. A 2B Technologies Portable Aerosol Monitor (PAM) mounted on a bicycle was used to continuously record PM₂.₅ concentrations with associated GPS coordinates at approximately two-second intervals during 16 sampling events between 08-12-2025 and 10-05-2025. Objectives: Coronary artery disease (CAD) and cerebrovascular disease (CVD) share common atherosclerotic pathways. However, the clinical significance of headache absence during stress testing remains unexplored. We investigated whether the absence of headache during pharmacological stress testing reflects the presence of subtle cerebrovascular atherosclerosis detectable by transcranial Doppler ultrasonography (TCD).

Methods: This cross-sectional study enrolled 225 patients with CAD undergoing pharmacological stress testing with TCD and myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI) at centers in Egypt (Cardiology Department, Fayoum University). Pulmonary hypertension associated with congenital heart disease or PH-CHD is an increasingly prevalent disorder in modern cardiology. It is characterized by progressive pulmonary vascular remodeling, chronic right ventricular (RV) pressure overload, and abnormal cardiopulmonary hemodynamic. Due to advances in congenital cardiology and treatments for pulmonary hypertension, survival rates have increased. As a result, the focus has switched to long-term functional status and quality of life. Objectives: To compare the pre- and post-use of oral melatonin and oral triclofos as oral sedative drugs on anxiety, sedation, and cognitive and psychomotor function to perform satisfactory dental treatment on uncooperative children.

Methods: A total number of 100 patients aged between 4 and 9 years who were scheduled for dental treatment were randomly divided into two groups, Group I and Group II, and administered melatonin and triclofos sodium, respectively, to determine changes in anxiety, cognitive, psychomotor, and sedation scores pre- and post-treatment. Objective: This study evaluated the impact of home and over-the-counter (OTC) bleaching products, compliant with SCCS regulations, on color changes in tea-stained supra-nano filled composite, using the CIEDE2000 formula.

Methods: One hundred Estelite® Sigma Quick discs were fabricated, thermocycled, and tea-stained for 12 days. Samples were divided into four groups: Opalescence 15% carbamide peroxide (CP) gel, White Dental Beauty 6% hydrogen peroxide (HP) strips, Pola Luminate 6% HP brush-on gel, and a control. Introduction: The accuracy of intraoral scanners (IOSs) in capturing a Biologically Oriented Preparation Technique (BOPT) remains uncertain. The aim of this study was to evaluate the accuracy of digital impressions obtained with three intraoral scanners for recording BOPT preparations.

Objective: The aim of this study main is to analyze the influence of antihypertensive treatments on the failure and survival rates of dental implants.

Methods: Medical records of 586 patients who received a total of 1,814 dental implants between 2012 and 2022 met the inclusion criteria and were retrospectively reviewed. Patients were divided into two groups: a control group comprising 512 systemically healthy patients with 1581 implants, and a group of 74 patients taking only antihypertensive medications who received a total of 233 implants. Introduction: Orthokeratinized odontogenic cyst (OOC) is a rare developmental jaw lesion with indolent behavior and low recurrence potential.

Case presentation: A 33-year-old healthy male was referred after incidental discovery of a mandibular radiolucency. Cone-beam CT revealed a well-defined unilocular lesion in close relation to the inferior alveolar canal. Aspiration confirmed its cystic nature, and a conservative decompression was performed using a rubber drain to reduce lesion size and preserve adjacent structures. Histopathologic examination identified orthokeratinized epithelium consistent with OOC. Several species of Chlamydia are recognized as significant zoonotic pathogens that infect a wide range of hosts, including humans. This study aimed to investigate the occurrence and genetic characteristics of Chlamydiales–related bacteria in captive animals at Songkhla Zoo, southern Thailand. A total of 92 cloacal and rectal swab samples were collected from mammals (n = 22), birds (n = 55), and reptiles (n = 15). Genomic DNA was screened using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) targeting the Chlamydiales 16S rRNA gene and the ompA gene specific for Chlamydia psittaci.
