ความรู้ทันตสุขภาพของผู้ติดเชื้อไวรัสเอดส์ในเรือนจํา, สุรินทร์ ตั้งสุภูมิ

ผู้ต้องขังชายที่ติดเชื้อไวรัสเอดส์จํานวน 180 คน ในเรือนจํากลางคลองเปรม ได้ตอบคําสัมภาษณ์จากแบบสอบถามเกี่ยวกับ ความรู้ เจตคติ และพฤติกรรม ทางทันตสุขภาพของตนเอง ผลการวิจัยพบว่า ผู้ต้องขังกลุ่มดังกล่าว มีความรู้ที่ถูกต้องร้อยละ 50 ขึ้นไป มี 11 ใน 18 ข้อ ซึ่งประเด็นที่ตอบถูกเกินกว่าร้อยละ 90 ได้แก่ กรณีโรคฟันผุและโรคเหงือกอักเสบ ทําให้มีกลิ่นปากและสามารถป้องกันได้ ส่วนหินน้ำลายที่เกาะบนตัวฟันไม่ช่วยทําให้ฟันแข็งแรง ประเด็นที่มีความรู้น้อยที่สุดได้แก่ กรณีความหมายและผลของแผ่นคราบจุลินทรีย์บนฟัน นอกจากนั้นผู้ตอบแบบสอบถามร้อยละ 32 เชื่อว่า การไปพบทันตแพทย์เพื่อรับการบริการทางทันตกรรมมีโอกาสติดเชื้อไวรัสเอดส์ได้

การทดสอบความคงสภาพของตํารับยาอมบ้วนปากฟลูออไรด์ 12 สูตร ที่มีสารกันบูดแตกต่างกันเมื่อนํามาปรุงแต่งให้มีสีและกลิ่นดังนี้ ; น้ำยาอมบ้วนปากสีเขียวซึ่งแต่งสีด้วย บิลเลี่ยน บลู/ทาร์ทราซีน (1 : 4) และแต่งกลิ่นด้วยส่วนผสมของเปปเปอร์มินท์ เมนทอล (1 ซีซี. : 0.5 กรัม) น้ำยาอมบ้วนปากสีชมพูซึ่งแต่งสีด้วยอัลลูราเรดและแต่งกลิ่นด้วยส่วนผสมของเอไนล์/ซินนามอน (3 ซีซี. : 1 ซีซี.) น้ำยาอมบ้วนปากสีเหลือง ซึ่งแต่งสีด้วยทาร์ทราซีนและแต่งกลิ่นด้วยส่วนผสมของเอไนส์/ซินนามอน/เมนทอล (1 ซีซี. : 1 ซีซี. : 0.5 กรัม) โดยความเข้มข้น ของสีและน้ำมันหอมระเหยที่ใช้แต่งกลิ่นในน้ำยาอมบ้วนปากเหล่านี้เท่ากับ 0.001 กรัม/100 ซีซี. และ 0.15 ซีซี. 100 ซีซี. ตามลําดับ ผลของการทดสอบพบว่าชนิดและปริมาณความเข้มข้นของสารปรุงแต่งที่ใช้นี้ไม่ทําให้ความ คงสภาพของตํารับยาอมบ้วนปากฟลูออไรด์ทั้ง 12 สูตรเปลี่ยนแปลง และเมื่อนําผลิตภัณฑ์ที่ปรุงแต่งเหล่านี้ไปศึกษา เปรียบเทียบความคงสภาพกับผลิตภัณฑ์ที่มีจําหน่ายในท้องตลาดพบว่าผลิตภัณฑ์ที่ปรุงแต่งขึ้นนี้มีคุณภาพดีพอ ๆ กับริช และลิสเตอร์มินท์ที่ผสมฟลูออไรด์

ผลของวิธีใช้กรดซิตริกทาบนผิวรากฟัน : นอกปาก, นวลฉวี หงษ์ประสงค์, นิตยา จินดาวิจักษ์, วีณา วุฒิทรัพย์ทวีสุข

รายงานการวิจัยฉบับนี้ เป็นการศึกษาเปรียบเทียบผลการใช้กรดซิตริกทาเบา ๆ และถูบนผิวเคลือบรากฟันที่ถูกเกลารากฟันแล้ว ใช้ฟันเขี้ยวที่ถูกถอนเนื่องจากโรคปริทันต์อักเสบจํานวน 8 ซี่ นํามาขูดหินน้ำลาย และเกลาราก ฟันให้เรียบ เพื่อนํามาเตรียมแผ่นผิวเคลือบรากฟัน โดยฟัน 1 ซี่ เตรียมได้ 2 แผ่น แยกไว้กลุ่มละ 1 แผ่น ในแต่ละกลุ่มจึงมี 8 แผ่นนํามากรอแบ่งครึ่งตามแนวตั้งเพื่อใช้เป็นกลุ่มควบคุมของแต่ละแผ่น ใช้กรดซิตริก pH 1 ทา เบา ๆ ในกลุ่มที่ 1 และถูแรง ๆ ในกลุ่มที่ 2 ทางด้านขวาของร่องที่แบ่งไว้ทิ้งไว้ 3 นาทีล้างน้ำให้สะอาด แล้ว นําไปแช่ไว้ในน้ำยาพาราฟอร์มาดีชัย 4% จากนั้นนําแผ่นผิวเคลือบรากฟัน ไปเตรียมตัวอย่างสําหรับตรวจดูด้วยกล้องจุลทรรศน์อิเล็กตรอนชนิดส่องกราด ประเมินผลของกรดซิตริกต่อจํานวนรูเปิดของเดนดินัล ทิวบูล โดยนับจํานวนเฉลี่ยของเดนตินัล ทิวบูลจากภาพถ่ายกําลังขยาย 5,000 เท่า แล้ววิเคราะห์ผลความแตกต่างของกลุ่มต่าง ๆ โดยใช้สติวเดนท์ ที่เทส จากผลการทดลองพบว่าในกลุ่มควบคุมจะมี สเมียร์ เลเยอร์ เหลืออยู่มากและมีรูเปิดของ เดนตินัล ทิวบูล เล็กน้อย ส่วนในกลุ่มทดลองจะพบว่าสามารถกําจัด สเมียร์ เลเยอร์ ได้ และยังทําให้รูเปิดของ เดนดินัล ทิวบูล มีจํานวนเพิ่มมากขึ้น แม้ว่าการใช้วิธีการจะทําให้ได้จํานวนรูเปิดมากกว่าวิธีทาเบา ๆ แต่ไม่มีนัยสําคัญทางสถิติ แรงที่เกิดจากการถูจะทําให้ สเมียร์ เลเยอร์ ไปอุดตันรูเปิดของ เดนดินัล ทิวบูล บางส่วนได้ ในขณะที่การทาเพียงเบา ๆ จะทําให้พื้นผิวสะอาด และมีรูเปิดของ เดนดินัล ทิวบูล กว้างกว่า จากผลการทดลองจึงสรุปได้ว่า ในการใช้กรดซิตริกโดยวิธีการทาเบา ๆ ให้ผลที่ดีกว่าการถู

รายงานการรักษาทางทันตกรรมในผู้ป่วยเด็กลมชัก ที่มารักษาตัวในหอผู้ป่วยเด็ก โรงพยาบาลและสถาบันประสาทวิทยาซึ่งเป็นลมชักชนิด แกรนด์มาล (Grand mal epilepsy) ร่วมกับ ปัญญาอ่อน (mental retardation) 2 ราย ผู้ป่วยรายที่ 1 มีระดับเชาว์ปัญญา (intelligence quotient) I.Q. ขนาดหนักมาก (profound) ไม่สามารถวัดได้ ผู้ป่วยช่วยเหลือตนเองไม่ได้ในทุก ๆ เรื่องไม่ให้ความร่วมมือในการรักษา ทันตแพทย์จําเป็นต้องให้การรักษาทางทันตกรรมร่วมกับการดมยาสลบ ผู้ป่วยรายที่ 2 มีระดับเชาว์ปัญญาขนาดน้อย (mild) I.Q. 65 ร่วมกับมีปัญหาทางอารมณ์ได้รับการรักษาทางจิตบําบัด (psychotherapy) ก่อน ได้รับการรักษาทางทันตกรรม ผู้ป่วยทั้งสองรายได้รับยารักษาโรคลมชักก่อนการรักษาทางทันตกรรม ซึ่งประกอบด้วยการอุดฟัน ถอนฟัน และรักษาคลองรากฟันสําเร็จลุล่วงไปด้วยดี

เด็กชายไทยอายุ 2 ปี 11 เดือน เข้ามารับการรักษาฟันน้ำนมหน้าตัดกลางบน 2 ซี่ ซึ่งผุลึก การซักประวัติและสังเกตพฤติกรรมที่ผิดปกติของเด็ก นําไปสู่การปรึกษากับจิตแพทย์ที่ทําการรักษาเด็ก ทําให้ทราบว่า เด็กเป็นออทิสซึม อันเป็นความผิดปกติทางด้านพัฒนาการเรียนรู้เกี่ยวกับสังคม อารมณ์และการสื่อภาษาอย่างรุนแรง ลักษณะเด่นที่เห็นได้ชัดคือ ไม่ยอมสบตา ไม่ชอบให้ใครมาอุ้มหรือเกี่ยวข้องด้วย ชอบอยู่คนเดียว เล่นกับตัวเอง ทําอะไรซ้ำ ๆ ไม่พูดหรือพูดก็เป็นภาษาแปลก ๆ รายงานนี้ได้ประมวลความรู้ประเด็นต่าง ๆ เกี่ยวกับออทิสซึม และรายงาน การจัดการในเรื่องการบําบัดรักษาและป้องกันทางทันตกรรมของผู้ป่วยเด็กรายนี้ หากทันตแพทย์มีความรู้ความเข้าใจเกี่ยวกับโรคนี้ นอกจากจะสามารถจัดการทางทันตกรรมของผู้ป่วยแล้ว ยังอาจช่วยส่งต่อผู้ป่วยเด็กที่มีความผิดปกติดังกล่าวให้ได้รับการตรวจวินิจฉัย รักษาและกระตุ้นพัฒนาการเสียตั้งแต่ระยะแรกได้ ทําให้เด็กสามารถพัฒนาได้เต็มศักยภาพ

โครงการทันตแพทย์ผู้ทําสัญญา เป็นโครงการที่รัฐบาลดําเนินการเพื่อแก้ไขปัญหาการขาดแคลนทันตแพทย์ในเขตชนบท โดยกําหนดให้ทันตแพทย์ที่สําเร็จการศึกษาตั้งแต่ปี 2532 เป็นต้นไป เป็นทันตแพทย์ผู้ทําสัญญาที่ต้องทํางานให้รัฐบาลในพื้นที่ที่กําหนด เป็นเวลา 3 ปี อย่างไรก็ตาม ปัญหาที่เกิดขึ้นตามมาก็คือ การชดใช้ทุนเป็นเงิน 400,000 บาท ของทันตแพทย์คู่สัญญาเพื่อที่จะไม่ต้องเข้ารับราชการตามสัญญา และแนวโน้มการชดใช้ทุนดังกล่าวมีแต่จะเพิ่มขึ้นทุกปี การพัฒนาความสามารถของอาจารย์ทันตแพทย์เป็นวิธีที่สําคัญประการหนึ่งในการ บรรเทาปัญหาที่เกิดขึ้นดังกล่าว

ในการปรับสภาพช่องปากเพื่อการทําฟันปลอม ขั้นตอนที่จัดว่ามีความสําคัญ คือ การหาระยะระหว่างขากรรไกรบนล่าง ซึ่งมีหลายวิธี ได้แก่ การวัดระยะ การถ่ายภาพรังสีกะโหลกศีรษะด้านข้าง การตรวจคลื่นกล้ามเนื้อการพูดและใช้เสียง การดูลักษณะรูปหน้า การกลืน ตลอดจนสภาพพื้นที่เหลือในช่องปากซึ่งจะช่วยประกอบการประเมินว่า มีการสูญเสียความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างขากรรไกรบนล่างหรือไม่ เพราะการหาระยะระหว่างขากรรไกรบนล่างที่ผิดพลาด เมื่อสร้างฟันปลอมจะเกิดผลเสียต่อผู้ป่วย เช่น การเกร็งตัวและปวดกล้ามเนื้อบดเคี้ยว ปวดฟัน และข้อต่อขากรรไกรเป็นต้น

The reliance on information systems forces the health care organizations to consider two security management issues: information control and security policy. The objective of this article is to examine a direction to effectively support and enhance the health care delivery through information systems in hospitals. An integrated focus is provided through an information control framework for analyzing the three control elements: accessibility, confidentiality, and integrity. The security policy involves three aspects: prevention of unauthorized access into the system, controlling the input and output of the system, and monitoring the health care information systems. Sweet lupins are now grown on about a million hectares in Western Australia each year. If half of the State's seven million weaners were grazed as recommended on half of the lupin stubbles, it could generate about $15 million from reduced supplementary feeding, greater wool production and other advantages. But correct management is important, particularly knowing when to take weaners out. Research by the Department over the last five years is now indicating how this should be done.

Journal of the Arkansas Academy of Science

Though enzymes responsible for rotting wood have been studied for some time, the enzymes and enzymatic systems responsible for breaking down lignin have only begun to be discovered. The lignin-degrading enzymes produced by soft-rot fungi, in particular, have not been sufficiently studied. The present study presents evidence that the enzyme called laccase, known to be associated with lignin biodegradation, is produced by the species Chaetomium elatum, a soft-rot fungus. Cerrena unicolor, a positive control, and Chaetomium elatum were grown in culture. These species were tested for the presence of laccase using syringaldazine as a chromogenic substrate. The objective of this paper is to discuss the complexity of fetal movement detection encountered during development and implementation of an automated single Doppler ultrasonic transducer based instrument. The single transducer instrument was intended to better quantify the duration, velocity, and magnitude of fetal movements. A Corometrics Model 116 fetal heart rate monitor was modified, and a fetal movement detection algorithm (Russell Algorithm) was developed to detect fetal movements on one and two (data fusion) transducers. Use Of Visual And Tactile Behaviors By Rats (Rattus Norvegicus) In An Object Discrimination Swimming Task, Todd Wiebers

When challenged with a cognitive task, rats demonstrate a behavioral flexibility in use and preference of sensory modalities. The present study describes visual and tactile behaviors used by rats in a two choice object discrimination swimming task. The task was designed to preclude use of other sensory modalities and could not be solved via spatial strategies. Fourteen rats learned to criterion a series of 10 discrimination problems. Rats exhibited three stereotypic visual and two stereotypic tactile behaviors over the course of the study.
