ได้ทำการศึกษาการคลอดยากของสุกรในเขตจังหวัดนครปฐม จำนวน 110 แม่ โดยแบ่งหัวข้อการศึกษาเป็น 2 ลักษณะ คือ หาสาเหตุและวิธีการแก้ไขการคลอดยาก ผลการศึกษาพบว่า สาเหตุของการคลอดยากส่วนใหญ่เกิดในสุกรท้องแรก มีลูกระหว่าง 6-10 ตัวต่อครอก มดลูกไม่บีบตัว และท่าคลอดของลูกผิดปกติ การแก้ไขการคลอดยากใช้วิธีแก้ไขท่าคลอดของลูกให้ปกติ และดึงออก One-hundred and ten cases of swine dystocia in Nakorn-pathom area were studied in two aspects. Firstly, the incidences were divided according to the number of pregnancy, number of piglets, maternal and fetal factor. Most of them were first pregnant sows, six to ten piglets per litter, uterine inertia and malpositioning of the fetus, respectively. Secondly, the handling of the dystocia were mostly correction and traction.

รายงานการแก้ไขแม่สุกรท้องแก่ ซึ่งเกิดการปลิ้นออกของกระเพาะปัสสาวะก่อนคลอดโดยการผ่าตัดเอาลูกออกทางหน้าท้อง พร้อมกับนำกระเพาะปัสสาวะกลับ สู่ช่องท้องตามรอยฉีกขาดของช่องคลอด แม่สุกรปลอดภัย ลูกสุกร 7 ตัวแข็งแรงดี และ หย่านมเมื่ออายุได้ 35 วัน A case of urinary bladder prolapse in late pregnant sow was reported. Caesarean section and replacement of urinary bladder were successfully done. Seven healthy piglets weaned at 35 days after the operation.

ในปี 2521-2522 โรงพยาบาลปศุสัตว์ คณะสัตวแพทยศาสตร์ จุฬาลงกรณ์ มหาวิทยาลัย ต.บ่อพลับ อ.เมือง จ.นครปฐม ได้แก้ไขแม่สุกร ซึ่งไม่สามารถคลอดได้ เนื่องจากเกิดไส้เลื่อนบริเวณกัน จำนวน 5 ราย โดยวิธีผ่าเอาลูกออกทางหน้าท้อง ร่วมกับการแก้ไขบริเวณที่เกิดไส้เลื่อนประสบความสำเร็จ 3 ราย และ 2 ราย ตาย หลังการผ่าตัด การช่วยเหลือทางศัลยกรรมจะสําเร็จได้ดีหรือไม่ ขึ้นอยู่กับสภาพสัตว์ และระยะเวลาของการเกิดไส้เลื่อน Five cases of dystocia in sow due to perineal hernia were presented at Farm Animal Hospital, Faculty of Veterinary Science, Chulalongkorn University, Nakornpathom Province during 1978-1979. Three of them were successfully treated by Caesarean section and perineal reparation.

การศึกษาความดันเลือดและอัตราชีพจรในวัวเนื้อและวัวนม, สมศักดิ์ บวรสิน

ศึกษาความดันเลือดและอัตราชีพจรในลูกวัวเนื้อ และวัวนมพันธุ์ผสมอายุ 1-2 ปี จำนวน 39 ตัว ศึกษาความดันเลือดโดยการฟัง (auscultation) และอัตรา ชีพจรโดยการคลํา (palpation) จากหลอดเลือดแดงใต้โคนหาง (middle coccygeal artery) ทุกวัน จำนวน 5 ครั้ง พบว่าความดัน systolic ของวัวเนื้อมีค่า 141.86 ±0.55 มม.ปรอท และของวัวนมมีค่า 147.85 ± 0.33 มม.ปรอท ซึ่งแตกต่างกันอย่างมี นัยสําคัญ สำหรับความดัน diastolic ของวัวเนื้อคือ 111.81 ±0.77 และของวัวนม 112.80 ±0.78 มม.ปรอท นั้นไม่มีความแตกต่างกันทางสถิติ อัตราชีพจรของวัวเนื้อมี ค่าเฉลี่ย 84.85 ±0.74 ครั้ง/นาที ต่ำกว่าของวัวนมซึ่งมีค่าเฉลี่ย 96.10 + 0.68 ครั้ง/นาทีอย่างมีนัยสำคัญ ในการเปรียบเทียบความแตกต่างของความดัน systolic และ diastolic และอัตราชีพจรในกลุ่มวัวเนื้อ โดยเปรียบเทียบจากลูกผสมพ่อพันธุ์ Santa Gurtrudis กับลูกผสมพ่อพันธุ์ Brahman และเปรียบเทียบระหว่างเพศ ไม่ปรากฏว่าแตกต่างกัน สําหรับวัวนมได้เปรียบเทียบความเข้มข้นของสายพันธุ์ที่มีเลือดต่างประเทศ พบว่าลูกวัวที่มี เลือดพันธุ์ต่างประเทศน้อยกว่า 50% มีความดัน diastolic สูงกว่ากลุ่มที่มีเลือดมากกว่า 50% แต่ความดัน systolic และอัตราชีพจรไม่แตกต่างกัน เมื่อเปรียบเทียบลูกผสมที่มี เลือดพ่อพันธุ์ Red Sindhi กับ Holstein Friesian ทั้งความดัน systolic และ diastolic และอัตราชีพจรไม่แตกต่างกัน

พยาธิตัวกลมที่สำคัญในลำไส้ของลูกกระบือ, ไพบูลย์ ยุติศรี

จากการศึกษาพยาธิตัวกลมที่สำคัญในลําไส้ ที่ระบาดในลูกกระบืออายุต่าง ๆ กันใน ท้องที่จังหวัดภาคกลางและภาคตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือของประเทศไทย พบว่าลูกกระบือที่มีอายุ ระหว่าง 20 ถึง 75 วัน เป็นพยาธิตัวกลม Neoascaris vitulorum ถึง 88 เปอร์เซ็นต์ (จากลูกกระบือทั้งหมด 25 ตัว) จำนวนไข่พยาธิที่พบตั้งแต่ 150 ถึง 52, 150 ใบ ในอุจจาระ หนัก 1 กรัม และพบพยาธิตัวกลม Strongyloides papillosus ในลูกกระบือที่มีอายุระหว่าง 8 ถึง 119 วัน ถึง 92 เปอร์เซ็นต์ (จากลูกกระบือทั้งหมด 25 ตัว) จำนวนไข่พยาธิมีตั้งแต่ 150 ถึง 39, 050 ใบ ในอุจจาระหนัก 1 กรัม

ในการศึกษาเปรียบเทียบผลของ L-Thyroxine และ Propyl thiouracil ซึ่งทําให้เกิดการเปลี่ยนแปลงในระดับของเซลล์ในเนื้อเยื่อต่าง ๆ ของร่างกายสัตว์ รวมทั้งกล้ามเนื้อหัวใจทําให้มีการเปลี่ยนแปลงคลื่นไฟฟ้าของหัวใจด้วย สุนัขกลุ่มที่กิน L-Thyroxine 10 ตัว และสุนัขกลุ่มที่กิน PTU 6 ตัว มีการเปลี่ยนแปลงลักษณะ รูปร่างและขนาดของคลื่นไฟฟ้าหัวใจไป จากสุนัขกลุ่มควบคุม จำนวน 10 ตัว คือ P wave มีขนาดสูงและมียอดแหลม 9,S waves ลึก S-T segment ยกสูงขึ้น และกดต่ำลง การเปลี่ยนแปลงเหล่านี้เป็นผลจาก L-T ทําให้ขนาด หัวใจขยายใหญ่ขึ้นทั้งซีกขวาและซ้ายจึงไม่มีการเปลี่ยนแปลงของค่า mean electrical axis ของหัวใจห้องล่าง ส่วนผลของ PTU เป็นเหตุให้เกิดอาการโลหิตจางซึ่งเป็นผลให้หัวใจขยายใหญ่ จึงทําให้มีการเปลี่ยนแปลงลักษณะ และขนาดของคลื่นไฟฟ้าหัวใจได้เช่นกัน

Testicular Degeneration Following Aflatoxin B1 Administration In Rats, Subhkij Angsubhakorn, Natth Bhamarapravati, Kanda Romruen, Virat Prangprakma, Somphong Sahaphong, Witaya Thamavit
The Thai Journal of Veterinary Medicine
Administration of the semisynthetic diet containing aflatoxin B1 at the level of 20 ppm for 4 wks induced testicular degeneration in the male Buffalo strain rats. Various degrees of seminiferous epithelial degeneration were observed and described by light microscopy. However, testes of rats that survived until the end of the experiment (32 wks) showed only slight thickening of the basement membrane and a decrease in diameter of the seminiferous tubules. This observations suggested that aflatoxin B1 had only a transient toxic effect on rat testes.

จากการให้ Arsanilic acid-50 และ 3-Nitro แก่ไก่พันธุ์ไข่ทุกวันเป็นเวลา 23 วัน ติดต่อกันด้วยขนาด 70, 90, 110, 130, และ 150 mg/kg ตามน้ำหนักตัว ปรากฏ ว่า 3-Nitro เป็นพิษมากกว่า โดยไก่แสดงอาการซึม ตาปิด หงอย ไม่กินอาหาร และตาย ส่วนผลในด้านกระตุ้นการเจริญเติบโต ไม่ปรากฏ ซึ่งต่างจากไก่พันธุ์เนื้อ

The Effect Of Internal Parasites In Sheep Raised In The Highlands Of North Thailand, Falvey, L.B., Rietschel, W.
The Thai Journal of Veterinary Medicine
The effect of regular anthelmintic treatment on the live weight gains, reproductive rates and mortality rate of sheep raised in the highlands of northern Thailand were studied. A significant difference in liveweight gain was only recorded during the wet season in the German Merino Thai Indigenous breed of sheep in favour of the group receiving anthelmintic treatment. Reproductive rates were 58% for the treated group compared with 33 % for the control group and mortality rates were 0% compared with 25 %. Faecal egg counts indicated that infestations may be higher during the wet season. The internal parasite burdens of …
