Background: Social skills deficits are present in 43.3% of the depressed patients, significantly impact the quality of life and may result in severe and chronic depression. However, studies concerning social deficits in Thai depressed patients were still limited. Objective: To determine the prevalence and associated factors of social skills deficits of Thai patients with depressive disorders. The associated factors included severity of depression, satisfaction with family function, self-esteem, and personality characteristics. Background: The diagnosis of hepatic steatosis has been well-described on unenhanced computed tomography (UECT) study. However, current UECT often discarded from the abdominal CT protocol due to radiation dose reduction. Objective: To determine accuracy of contrast-enhanced CT (CECT) for diagnosis of hepatic steatosis. Methods: A total of 1,001 patients who underwent unenhanced and portal venous phase abdominal CT studies were assessed by using region-of-interests of liver and spleen, and visual detection of focal fat sparing. Alimentary tract duplication is a rare congenital anomaly. We present herein, two cases of different types of alimentary tract duplications that have entirely different clinical presentations. The first case was a girl presented with chronic constipation was finally diagnosed with tubular duplications of the entire colon. The other was a toddler with acute intestinal obstruction diagnosed with cystic duplication at terminal ileum. These two cases remind us of the difficulty in preoperative diagnosis. High suspicion of the disease and multimodality approaches were beneficial for accurate preoperative diagnosis. Surgery was the mainstay of the treatment.

Many mental disorders are expressed in different characteristics, as a result of cultural factors. These conditions, known as culture-bound syndrome, have been studied in the field of psychiatry and social anthropology. Some mental abnormalities are treated as distinctive psychiatric disorders; many others were not yet clinically recognized. Therefore, patients with the conditions should be evaluated and treated in both psychiatric and cultural practices. Background: The major problem of conventional smear for ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration (FNA) of thyroid nodules is the sample inadequacy. Liquid-based cytology (LBC) is claimed to perform better than the conventional smear (CS) in reducing sample inadequacy. However, the evidence of better adequacy in LBC is unclear. First Case Report Of High Volume Therapeutic Plasma Exchange As A Rescue Therapy In Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever With Acute Liver Failure, Surat Nakaviroj

Acute liver failure is a rare but life-threatening complication of severe dengue infection. Besides standard medical treatment, high volume therapeutic plasma exchange (HV-TPE) is a potential management strategy used to reverse hepatic encephalopathy and coagulopathy. HV-TPE, moreover, improves patient survival from acute liver failure due to paracetamol overdose, viral-induced hepatitis, and Wilson disease. The use of HV-TPE in acute liver failure with dengue hemorrhagic fever has never been reported. We, hereby, report a successful treatment with HV-TPE in acute liver failure with dengue hemorrhagic fever.
