The species of Anacaena THOMSON, 1859 (Coleoptera: Hydrophilidae) of the Republic of the Philippines are revised. Fifteen new species are described: Anacaena albay sp.n., A. amplocomata sp.n., A. apo sp.n., A. balabag sp.n., A. cordillera sp.n., A. davao sp.n., A. destructa sp.n., A. emergens sp.n., A. hemisphaerica sp.n., A. levistriata sp.n., A. philippina sp.n., A. princesa sp.n., A. quezona sp.n., A. sulcata sp.n., and A. zamboangana. All species are endemic to the Philippines, twelve are aquatic, the habitat of three species is unknown. A new species of Zodarion Walckenaer, 1826 is described based on material collected in the Marmara region of Turkey. Morphological and diagnostic characters and illustrations of the genitalia of both sexes are presented, and the differences with the closely related Zodarion turcicum Wunderlich, 1980 are pointed out.

The genus Empidideicus Becker, 1907 (Diptera: Mythicomyiidae) was studied in 2 provinces of northern Iran (Tehran and Ghazvin provinces). Six species were collected and identified. A new species, Empidideicus formosus Hakimian, Talebi, & Gharali sp. nov., is described and its diagnostic characters are illustrated. This species is closely related to E. unicus Gharali & Evenhuis, 2011, but it is easily distinguished by the almost all-yellow prescutellar area and striated female spermathecal reservoirs.

The Norwegian species of Aphelinus Dalman, 1820 (Hymenoptera: Aphelinidae) are reviewed, and a total of 8 species are recorded. The 3 species Aphelinus abdominalis (Dalman, 1820), A. chaonia Walker, 1839, and A. varipes (Förster, 1841) have previously been recorded from Norway, while A. mali (Haldemann, 1851) and A. asychis Walker, 1839 represent new records for the country. The 3 species A. elvestueni sp. nov., A. odin sp. nov., and A. paluscolus sp. nov. are described, illustrated, and compared with closely related species. An illustrated key for the identification of the females of Norwegian Aphelinus is presented.

A new species of the genus Dinotrema Foerster is reported from the Samsun region on the central Black Sea coast of Turkey. The genus generally parasitizes flies and ranks among the most species-rich taxa of the Braconidae. Morphological details of the new species Dinotrema samsunense Fischer & Sullivan are described, figured, and compared taxonomically with the most closely related species.

A new species of the spider genus Harpactea Bristowe, 1939 is described from pine forests in Antalya Province, in the Mediterranean region of Turkey. The new species resembles H. abantia (Simon, 1884) known from Greece, but differs in a number of characters. Detailed morphological description and illustrations of the new species are provided on the basis of both sexes.

A new species of freshwater amphipod, Gammarus baysali sp. nov., collected from Cumayanı Cave (Zonguldak Province, Turkey) is described and illustrated. The new species belongs to the Gammarus pulex-group. The most discriminant characters of this species are the minute eyes, densely setose fifth peduncle and flagellar segments of antenna 2, elongated pereopods, and setose anterior margins of pereopod 5 to 7. Additionally, the palp of right maxilla 1 has 4 setae along its outer margin. A detailed morphological description and illustrations of the new species are provided, and differences from related species are discussed.

The family Otopheidomenidae Treat, 1955 is recorded for the first time from Saudi Arabia and the Arabian Peninsula on the basis of a new species, Nabiseius arabicus sp. nov. Adult females, collected from Cynodon dactylon L. (Poaceae) in association with thrips (Insecta: Thysanoptera), are described and illustrated. A key to world species of Nabiseius is provided.

A new species of Barrussus, Barrussus telescopus sp. nov., is described from the Bolkar Mountains in southern Turkey. Males have an extremely elongated and bar-shaped ocular tubercule extended anteriorly between their eyes, which is the longest projecting ocular tubercule among all known males of Barrussus. The ocular tubercule of females has a short conical projection. Cheliceral movable fingers of type specimens have 5 anteriorly situated small teeth. Males have club-shaped ctenidia on the 4th and blunt-ended tubular ctenidia on the 5th opisthosomal sternites. Salduncula carmencitae sp.n. is described, its habitus and the paramere and parandria of the male are illustrated. This shore bug was found on Mindanao Island, the Philippines, in the intertidal zone. Habitat and behaviour of the species are briefly described. The distinguishing diagnostic characters of species of Salduncula Brown, 1954 are discussed.

Ancyronyx buhid sp. n. and Ancyronyx tamaraw sp. n. are described based on adults and larvae, matched using their cox1 or cob DNA sequence data. Additional records of Ancyronyx schillhammeri Jäch, 1994 and Ancyronyx minerva Freitag & Jäch, 2007 from Mindoro are listed. The previously unknown larva of Ancyronyx schillhammeri is also described here, aided by cox1 data. The new species and larval stages are described in detail and illustrated by SEM and stacked microscopic images. A new Hemiscorpius species, H. kashkayi sp. nov., is described from the Khuzestan and Ahwaz region in southwestern Iran. H. kashkayi is related to H. persicus Birula, 1903, known from Baluchestan in eastern Iran, which does not show sexual dimorphism between males and females, like H. kashkayi. These 2 species differ from all other Iranian Hemiscorpiidae species in having no sexual dimorphism. H. kashkayi is distinguished from H. persicus by its relatively short and well-developed stout metasoma and pedipalp segments, less developed patellar process, and carapacial and mesosomal carination.

The morphology, ciliature, and silverline system of a new ciliate, Frontonia anatolica n. sp., isolated from the bottom sediment of the eastern shore of Lake Van, a large alkaline lake in Eastern Anatolia Turkey, were investigated using live and silver impregnation methods. One new species, Zerconella (Zerconella) balkanica sp. nov., is described as the second species of the subgenus Zerconella (Zerconella) Willmann, 1953 on the basis of 5 specimens collected in the Dejë Mountains in central Albania. The new species shows a close morphological relationship to Zerconella (Zerconella) leitnerae Willmann, 1953, but can be distinguished from the latter by the absence of setae J4, the position of setae J5, and the size of the dorsal cavities. Geographic distribution of the subgenus Zerconella (Zerconella) is presented.

Tephritis ozaslani sp. nov. is described from Artvin Province of Turkey and placed in the T. pulchra species group. The key to the T. pulchra group is provided, which includes 9 species. The main characters that distinguish the new species from the closely resembling Palaearctic species, T. cometa israilis Freidberg, T. acanthiophilopsis Hering, T. erdemlii Kütük, T. divisa Rondani, T. recurrens Loew, T. merzi Freidberg & Kütük, and T. hurvitzi Freidberg, are discussed. In addition, Inula oculus christi L. (Asteraceae) is determined as a host plant of the new species.

Graecoanatolica Radoman, 1973 is a remarkable genus of Hydrobiidae, recognized with its disjunct distribution between Macedonia, Greece (Thessaly), and Turkey (Lakes Region). However, the current distribution of the genus is restricted to Turkey, as the 2 Balkan species have been declared extinct. In this study, a taxonomic revision of the Graecoanatolica species in Turkey is presented. The family Ctenobelbidae (Acari, Oribatida) is recorded for the first time from Turkey. A new species of genus Ctenobelba, Ctenobelba (Ctenobelba) ayyildizi sp. nov., is described based on the specimens collected from chestnut forest in the province of Manisa, Turkey. An identification key to the known subgenera of the genus is given. Scanning electron microscopy photographs of the newly described species are also provided. The new species differs from the related species by anteriorly diverging lamellae.

A new species of freshwater amphipod, Gammarus obruki sp. nov., collected from İnderesi Cave, Bartın Province, Turkey, is described and illustrated. The new species belongs to the Gammarus pulex group. The most discriminant characters of this species are the presence of prolonged extremities, a very long antenna 1 (up to 52 segmented flagellum), densely setose fifth peduncle and flagellar segments of antenna 2, and a fourth peduncle segment that has no long setae. A detailed morphological description and illustrations of the new species are provided and differences from related species are discussed.

During studies on the Braconidae fauna of the Black Sea, Central Anatolian and Eastern Anatolian regions of Turkey 2 new species, Bracon (Lucobracon) kuzguni sp. n. and Bracon (Lucobracon) breviradius sp. n., were recorded and described. Important morphological diagnostic characters are figured and they are compared with the related species, B.(L.) triangularis Nees, 1834 and B. (L.) brachycerus Thomson, 1892 respectively.

A new species of the Australian genus Westralianus Boucek (Hymenoptera: Chalcidoidea, Torymidae) is described from Altınözü, Hatay, Turkey. Some new diagnostic characters of the genus are provided by inclusion of a second species in the genus. The new species, W. altinoezus n.sp., is compared with the type species, W. microstigma Boucek 1988. The new species was recorded as a parasitoid of caterpillars of an unknown species of Lepidoptera living in galls of Gymnosporangium confusum (Uredinales: Pucciniaceae) on shoots of Crataegus monogyna Jacq. A description of the new species is provided and its diagnostic characters are photographed.

Three new species are described: Ophiomyia quadrispinosa sp. nov., Metopomyza lingulata sp. nov., and Pseudonapomyza multicostata sp. nov. Five species are recorded from Turkey for the first time: Melanagromyza provecta (de Meijere), Liriomyza lutea (Meigen), L. periorbita Hendel, Phytomyza veronicicola Hering, and P. wahlgreni Rydén. All species were collected from Elazığ and Malatya provinces in 2007 and 2008. The general distribution and a description of each species are presented.
