Until now, there have been only three studies of marine tardigrades from South Carolina, USA. The Fall 2015 invertebrate zoology class from Warren Wilson College collected four sediment samples from Huntington Beach State Park: shallow beach sand, deep beach sand, shallow salt marsh sediment, and deep salt marsh sediment. No tardigrades were found in the salt marsh, but two species were found in the beach samples. Batillipes pennaki Marcus, 1946 was found in shallow and deep beach sand, and three specimens of a potentially new species of Stygarctus Schulz, 1951 were found in the deep beach sand at groundwater level. …

Phrosinella kocaki Verves & Khrokalo sp. nov. from Israel is described as being new to science. A similar species, Phrosinella kozlovi (Rohdendorf, 1925), is recorded for the first time for Turkey and redescribed. Faunistic and ecological data on 31 species from 3 genera of subtribe Phrosinellina are given: Gymnoprosopa Townsend, 1892 (6 species); Gymnopsidia Shewell, 1987 (1 species); and Phrosinella Robineau-Desvoidy, 1863 (24 species). An original key to the genera and subgenera is presented.

The new species Eustenomacidius (Caucasohelops) egeuniversitatis sp. n. is described from Southeastern Anatolia (Van Province). The species differs from two other representatives of the subgenus Caucasonotus Nabozhenko, 2006 by the absence of temple grooves (lower aspect of eye having a posterior ventral groove) and shiny body without microsculpture. It is the first record of the genus in Turkey. Data on bionomics and a key to species of the subgenus Caucasonotus are given. Mitochondrial cytochrome oxidase I (cox1) barcoding regions of type specimens were also sequenced and uploaded to GenBank.

Capoeta aydinensis sp. nov. is described from the Büyük Menderes River and the streams Tersakan, Dalaman, and Namnam in southwestern Turkey. It is distinguished from all other Anatolian Capoeta species by the following combination of characters: one pair of barbels; a plain brownish body coloration; a well-developed keel in front of the dorsal-fin origin; a slightly arched mouth; a slightly convex lower jaw with a well-developed keratinized edge; a weakly ossified last simple dorsal-fin ray, serrated along about 60%-70% of its length, with 14-20 serrae along its posterior edge; 58-71 total lateral line scales; 11-12 scale rows between lateral line …

Three New Truncatelloidean Gastropod Species From Turkey(Caenogastropoda: Littorinimorpha), Mustafa Emre Gürlek

New species of Bithyniidae (Pseudobithynia adiyamanensis sp. nov.), Hydrobiidae (Pseudorientalia ceriti sp. nov.), and Bythinellidae (Bythinella yerlii sp. nov.) are described from three different locations in Turkey. Samples were collected in 2013 and 2016 and the shell and male genital tract morphology of the new species were studied. All of these new taxa were compared to congeners that live in Turkey and adjacent countries.

A taxonomic study on the genus Sceliphron Klug in northern Vietnam is presented. A total of 3 species are recorded: S. deforme deforme (F. Smith, 1856); S. madraspatanum kohli Sickmann, 1894; and S. clypeatum sp. nov., which is described for the first time here. A key to the species based on morphological characters is given, and new distributional records are also provided.

A new harvestman species of the genus Mediostoma Kratochvíl, 1958, Mediostoma izmirica sp. nov., is described and illustrated based on males and females from İzmir Province, Turkey. Differences between the new species and other species of the genus Mediostoma are indicated. Scanning electron microscope photographs of its characteristic structures are also given.

Terrestrial Isopods Of The Genus Protracheoniscus (Isopoda: Oniscidea) In Northern Iran With A Description Of Two New Species, Ghasem Mohammadi Kashani, Sara Hamidnia

In the present study, terrestrial isopods of the genus Protracheoniscus are investigated in northern Iran. Protracheoniscus ehsani Kashani, 2014 and P. Major (Dollfus, 1903) are found for the first time in the region. Two other species, P. Kiabii Kashani sp. Nov. And P. Golestanicus sp. Nov., are described as new. The diagnostic characters of the new species are illustrated and their distribution is presented on a map.

Gönen Stream, which is about 134 km in length, arises from the Ida Mountains near Balıkesir and flows out near Misakça to the Sea of Marmara. In order to determine the freshwater amphipod species of Gönen Stream, 8 seasonal samplings were conducted between June 2010 and June 2012. Samplings were made at 16 stations located between the upper and lower parts of the stream. Three new species of the genus Macroocula Panfilov, 1954 from Saudi Arabia are described and illustrated: M. Atuberculata Soliman and Gadallah sp. Nov. (Al-Quwayiyah, Al-Aflag, Al-Zulfi, and Riyadh), M. Zulfiensis Soliman and Gadallah sp. Nov. (Al-Zulfi and Riyadh), and M. Khorimensis Soliman and Gadallah sp. Nov. (Muzahimiyah and Riyadh). A key to Macroocula species with a ventral protuberance on the hind trochanter is provided.

A new species of Nesticus Thorell, 1869, N. Salta sp. Nov., and a new species of Guaranita Huber, 2000, G. Dobby sp. Nov., are described from the Chaco Serrano ecoregion of Salta Province (Argentina). The female of G. Yaculica Huber, 2000 is described for the first time, and the known distribution of G. Munda (Gertsch, 1982) is enlarged to Jujuy Province, northern Argentina.

There are twelve Microtus species in Turkey and two of them are endemic to the steppic central Anatolian plateau. In this study, previously collected specimens that were recorded as Microtus irani from southeastern Turkey were reevaluated by karyologically comparing different species distributed throughout southeastern Turkey. The taxonomic status of this species was raised to a new species, Microtus elbeyli sp. Nov., which has dark ochreous dorsal color, agrestis morphotype in M2, and 2n = 46, NF = 50, Nfa = 46 karyotype. A new genus of Oedipodinae, Chinabacris Kumar and Usmani gen. N. (type species Chinabacris trisulcata Kumar and Usmani sp. N.), is described and illustrated from India. The description was based on both conventional morphological and genitalic characters. The identifying features of the new genus are the dorso-ventrally compressed body and median carina of pronotum crossed by three transverse sulci. A key to the Indian genera of the subfamily edipodinae is also provided.

A new species of the genus Athripsodes from the Iberian Peninsula is described and illustrated: Athripsodes alentexanus sp. Nov. Adults of the new species are close to those of A. Taounate Dakki and Malicky, 1980 and A. Ygramul Malicky and Lounaci, 1987, but the shape of their inferior appendages provides the most striking distinction between males of these three species.

Both sexes of Diarthrodella ergeneae sp. nov. (Copepoda, Harpacticoida, Paramesochridae), which were collected from the intertidal zone of Kurtpınarı Beach along the Mediterranean coast of Turkey, are described in detail. Podothrips erami Minaei sp. Nov. İs described and illustrated from Fars Province in southern Iran. This is the first record of the genus from Iran. The new species is bicolored and conforms with P. Denticeps Hood and P. Distinctus Ananthakrishnan in bearing a lateral forward-directed tooth behind the compound eyes.

An original key to the genera is presented. Apodacra radchenkoi Verves & Khrokalo sp. nov. from Turkey is described as being new to science. One species is recorded for the first time for Afghanistan, 2 for Azerbaijan, 2 for Egypt, 2 for Greece, 8 for Israel, 1 for Kazakhstan, 1 for Kyrgyzstan, 6 for Tajikistan, 1 for Tanzania, 3 for Turkey, 2 for Turkmenistan, and 3 for Uzbekistan.

Mirabilithrombium turcicum sp. nov. is described based on both active postlarval forms and larvae. Larvae of Mirabilithrombium Gabrys, 1999 were obtained by experimental rearing from a field-collected female and are described for the first time. This is the third species described in the genus; a key to the active postlarval forms is provided. Data on the habitat specificity for the species are provided.

Dudgeodes bharathidasani sp. nov. is described from the Western Ghats of South India. The nymphs of this species were found in the seepage areas of a stream, and they were associated with the nets constructed by trichopteran larvae (Hydropsychidae: Hydropsyche).

A previously unrecognized species of hymenolepidid cestode attributable to Hymenolepis is described based on specimens in Peromyscus polionotus, oldfield mouse, from Georgia, United States, near the southeastern coast of continental North America. Specimens of Hymenolepis folkertsi n. sp. differ from those attributed to most other species in the genus by having testes arranged in a triangle and a scolex with a prominent rostrum-like protrusion. The newly recognized species is further distinguished by the relative position and length of the cirrus sac, shape of seminal receptacle, and relative size of external seminal vesicle and seminal receptacle. The first Romanian species of the genus Crinitodiscus Sellnick, 1931 is described and illustrated on the basis of two collected females. The new species differs from the other members of the genus by the V-shaped anterior process on the female genital shield and the ridged anterior margin of the postdorsal shield. The Crinitodiscus species were previously reported only from the East Mediterranean region. This occurrence represents the first Central European data on the genus.

Abrolophus balkanicus sp. Nov. İs described and illustrated from larvae collected in Montenegro. Abrolophus stanislavae (Haitlinger) and A. Wratislaviensis (Haitlinger) are redescribed. New metric data for A. Podorasensis (Haitlinger) are given. A. Podorasensis is new to the fauna of Montenegro and A. Stanislavae is new to the fauna of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
