This study was carried out to determine the amount of total heat, sensible heat, latent heat, and water vapor emitted by Anatolian water buffaloes in a closed barn located in the Thrace region of Turkey. At the research farm, a group was formed by randomly selecting water buffaloes based on their genetic similarities and lactation numbers. The buffalo group formed was housed in a closedtype barn. The inside and outside air temperatures, relative humidity, and milk yield values of the buffaloes were recorded for 1 year. The utilization of low-input paddy straw hay (PSH) for fattening lambs should be incorporated with a high-quality concentrate (HQC) in which green tea dust (GTD) rich in tannins can be added as a natural feed additive. Completely randomized design was used to compare 5 doses of GTD inclusions (dry matter, DM basis) at 0% (GTD-0), 0.5% (GTD-0.5), 1% (GTD-1), 1.5% (GTD-1.5), and 2% (GTD-2) in an HQC as the main diet of PSH-fed fattening lambs on average daily gain (ADG, g/head/day), dry matter intake (DMI, g/head/day), and nutrient digestibility (%) using 6 replicates. This study was undertaken to investigate the changes in the microbiological and sensorial attributes of fresh chicken carcasses immersed in decontamination solutions, followed by packaging in plastic bags in which decontamination solution was added during storage at 4 °C. The samples were taken on days 0, 3, 7, and 10 for microbiological and sensory attributes. Results showed that there was a limited antimicrobial effect on microbial flora in the treatment groups within the first 3 days of storage compared to the control group. The honeybee (Apis mellifera) is an important pollinator insect. Any pathogenic infection in this beneficial insect is undesirable. In this study, bacterial diversity in beehives was investigated to determine the potential of pathogenic bacteria in honeybees. There are several known hereditary diseases in Arabian horses. Many studies have been conducted on molecular diagnostic methods of the mutations that cause these hereditary defects in horses. A five-base deletion in the short arm (ECA9p12) of the equine chromosome 9, starting with codon 9480, which occurs in the catalytic subunit gene of the DNA-dependent protein kinase (DNAPKcs) results in severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID) hereditary disorder. SCID is an autosomal recessive disorder wherein the immune system of the affected foal is very weak. The main cause of larva migrans syndrome (LMS) in humans is represented by Toxocara spp. found in dogs and cats. In the present study, the effects of three disinfectants based on quaternary ammonium compounds (Kohrsolin® FF, Trioton$^{®}$ rapid AF and Terralin$^{®}$ protect) and one based on propanol and ethanol (Bacillol$^{®}$), against Toxocaracanis and Toxocaracati eggs, were tested. These disinfectants have a strong antimicrobial and virucidal action. Two different exposure times and different concentrations for solutions were used. Triploid organisms, in particular oysters, are widely used in marine aquaculture. However, the advantage of triploid oysters compared to diploids has not been proven in all cases. Comparative morphological analysis of Pacific oysters Crassostrea gigas of different ploidy levels allows evaluating the benefits of raising triploids in the Black Sea. First, the morphological characteristics of diploid and triploid Pacific oysters C. gigas farmed in the Black Sea were studied. However, studies on FecB in lamb are not clear and comprehensive. The 1-month ewe lamb of F1 generation cross between Booroola Merino sheep and Xinji fine wool sheep was superovulated. With this study, it was aimed to assess the effects of experimentally induced dexmedetomidine-ketamine (DK) and xylazineketamine (XK) combinations on clinical parameters and hemodynamic and hematological parameters in rabbits. In the study, 16 male New Zealand breed rabbits were divided into two groups. Group DK (n = 8) was administered dexmedetomidine (25 μg/kg) and ketamine (30 mg/kg) in the same injector, and Group XK (n = 8) was administered xylazine (4 mg/kg) and ketamine (30 mg/kg) in the same injector through the intramuscular (IM) route. The genetic polymorphism of the alpha S1-casein (CSN1S1) was investigated in five sheep breeds reared in Bulgaria: Sofia (Elin-Pelin, SEPL), Copper-Red Shumen (CRSH), Local Karnobat (LKNB), Pleven Blackhead (PLBH), and Stara Zagora (STZG) sheep with an aim to establish the possible effect of a particular genotype on ovine milk composition. Based on nucleotide variation in exon III of the CSN1S1gene, two genetic variants (A and C) and three genotypes (AA, AC, and CC) have been identified using PCR-RFLP analysis on a total of 217 unrelated ewes. Toxoplasma gondii is known to develop extracellular traps from neutrophils in some animal species such as mice, cattle, sheep, cats, and donkeys. This study aimed to investigate the extracellular trap structures formed in dog polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMNs) to T. gondii tachyzoites in vitro. Dog PMN was isolated using Percoll dilutions (45%, 54%, 63%, and 72%). After incubation with tachyzoites, the extracellular traps originating from the dog PMNs were observed in the extracellular areas. Histones (H3), myeloperoxidase (MPO), and neutrophil elastase (NE), the characteristic features of NETosis reaction, were detected in extracellular areas. It was aimed in this study to investigate polymorphisms on exon 4?intron 5 and exon 4 only of the kappa-casein (CSN3) gene for milk yields of water buffalo bred in Sivas Province. Dominance rank within a group can affect the stress level of an animal. However, there is no consensus on whether the dominant or subordinate animals are physiologically more stressed. It was aimed herein to determine the effect of social rank on the stress level and expression of some behaviors of adult Hemsin, Chios, and Karakul rams. According to their dominance index (DI) values, the rams were classified as low-ranked (DI < 0.33; n = 13), medium-ranked (DI: 0.33-0.66; n = 13), and high-ranked (DI > 0.66; n = 13) individuals. This study aims to compare the accuracy of pedigree-based and genomic-based breeding value prediction for different training population sizes. In this study, Bayes (A, B, C, Cpi) and GBLUP methods for genomic selection and BLUP method for pedigree-based selection were used. Genomic and pedigree-based breeding values were estimated for partial milk yield (158 days) of Holstein cows (400 individuals) from a private enterprise in the USA. The aim of this study is the development of a coagglutination test for rapid diagnosis of infectious pancreatic necrosis (IPN) virus which causes an acute infectious viral disease with high mortality in young salmonid fish. Serotypes Sp, Ab, WB of the IPNV were cultivated in BF-2 cells and purified by linear sucrose density gradient centrifugation. Hyperimmune sera against purified IPNV serotypes were collected from immunized guinea pigs. Coagglutination test conjugates were prepared by using sensitized S. aureus and hyperimmune sera. Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis (MAP) infection in camel requires extensive research, particularly the immune responses in the intestine. This study aimed to investigate the nature of the cellular populations that are driven by the immunopathological responses in the camel intestine infected with MAP at different ages. Immunohistochemical staining was carried out on tissues obtained from naturally infected young (5-10 years old) and older (12-15 years old) camels. The purpose of this study is to investigate resistance to antibiotics of Staphylococcus species isolated from various samples belonging to different animal species. Among 48 Staphylococcus spp. strains, Staphylococcus intermedius was the most common species, followed by S. aureus, S. epidermidis, S. hyicus, S. saprophyticus. In a total of 48 Staphylococcus strains, the highest antibiotic resistance was observed to oxacillin (79.17%), tetracycline (39.58%), and ampicillin and cefoxitin (31.25%). Of 48 Staphylococcus strains, 42 showed resistance to at least one antimicrobial agent, while 23 of the strains had multidrug resistance. This study was conducted to determine the ultrasonographic features of the liver, gallbladder, spleen, kidneys, and urinary bladder of 24 apparently healthy male and female long-tailed macaques (LTM) and the correlations of organ measurements with body weight and crown?rump length. The animals were grouped into 12 males and 12 females. Examination was performed in sedated LTM using an ultrasound machine with 6.0 MHz microconvex scanner. Ultrasound appearance, dimensions, and echotexture of the liver, gallbladder, kidneys, spleen, and urinary bladder were evaluated. This study was conducted to examine how various methods affect the results of eggshell thickness measurements. Direct and indirect measurements were performed on 700 table eggs which were daily collected from the same flock. The shell thickness of the eggs was calculated according to a logarithm which uses egg weight. Eggs with a specific gravity of higher than 0.80 g/cm³ were classified as thick-shelled, whereas the others were categorized as thin-shelled. Twelve multiparous Nili Ravi buffaloes were assigned to 1 of 3 treatments in a randomized, replicated 3 × 3 Latin square design to evaluate the effect of chemical (calcium propionate)- and toxin binder (sodium bentonite)-treated cotton seed cake (CSC) on milk yield and transfer of milk toxin (M1). The study was carried out to investigate the possibilities of obtaining slaughtered kids using indigenous breeds in Saanen flocks, which does not require breeding. The birth weights were 3.22 kg, 3.05 kg, and 3.18 kg for the Saanen, Turkish Hair × Saanen (F$_{1}$), and Honamlı × Saanen (F$_{1}$) crossbred kids, respectively. The mean live weight values of the same genotypes at the end of fattening (146th day) were determined as 25.96 kg, 27.11 kg, and 29.57 kg for the male kids, respectively.
