The aim of the study was to test the possibility of using carcass measurements and joint tissue composition to predict the half-carcass tissue composition of lambs more accurately. With this purpose in mind, 6 different carcass joints (neck, flank, shoulder, ribs, hind limb, and tail) from 42 Kıvırcık male lambs were dissected. In addition, various carcass characteristics were recorded. When carcass characteristics and measurements were used alone in the prediction equations, accuracy (between 37%-68%) was similar to the equations that included only joint dissections (36%-75%). Mulberry (Morus alba) leaves contain a high amount of digestible carbohydrates, protein and minerals, making it an attractive, natural, low-cost feed ingredient in rabbit rations. The present study evaluated the effect of stepwise replacement of a concentrate diet with wilted M. alba leaves on growth performance and meat quality of rabbits. Sixty indigenous rabbits (age, 36 ± 2 days) were assigned to 5 diets (12 rabbits per diet). An 11-year-old intact female chow chow dog was presented for evaluation of intermittent vomiting and anorexia for a month. On ultrasonographic examination, gastric pylorus hypertrophy which compressed common bile duct was identified. The gallbladder was significantly enlarged and mucocele was suspected. Cholecystectomy and gastric full thickness biopsy were performed and gastric adenocarcinoma was diagnosed by histopathological examination. Billroth II gastrojejunostomy using thoracoabdominal-stapler (TAstapler) was performed. On surgery, hypertrophied tissue suspected of tumour was also found adjacent to the major duodenal papilla. The effects of administration of Talinum triangulare aqueous extract on the hematology and serum biochemistry of growing pullets was studied. Ninety ISA Brown chicks purchased at 1 day old were randomly assigned into three groups: PA, PB, and PC. Canine cranial cruciate ligament ruptures have become common with improved nutrition and nonselective breeding strategies. This study assessed 7 dogs of various breeds and ages with the diagnosis of cranial cruciate ligament ruptures. The triple tibial osteotomy (TTO) method was used to treat the rupture. All of the dogs were admitted to the clinic for varying degrees of lameness. Diagnosis was confirmed using both clinical and radiologic examinations. Samples of Rosmarinus officinalis that were growing uncultivated in central Turkey were harvested during flowering in May 2016. This study was carried out to determine the preferences of dogs for some commonly used fat sources in dog food. Three different types of food were produced using 5% additional sunflower oil, poultry fat, or beef tallow. The food was extruded using a twin-screw extruder at approximately 25% moisture and temperatures in the range of 90 °C to 135 °C. Initially, a retrospective cohort was performed using indirect ELISA on a commingled flock consisting of 3 native and 4 composite breeds (n = 1750). Amongst ruminant livestock diseases, the gastrointestinal (GIT) helminths and protozoan parasite infections result in a significant socio-economic concern worldwide. During the period between October 2017 and November 2018, a total of 788 fresh fecal specimens from cattle (n = 303) and sheep (n = 485) were screened for the presence of gastrointestinal helminths and protozoan parasites in two historical regions (Crisana and Banat) of western Romania. The most prevailing bacteria in distribution is Clostridium perfringens (C. perfringens) which is ranked 1st among fatal diseases in small ruminants. This rapidly growing food borne pathogen is present in water, food, soil, air, and humans and animals intestinal tract. The effect of concrete pond and net-cage culture systems on growth and haematological indices of the Siberian sturgeon (Acipenser baerii) were studied in a 90-day experiment. The goal of this study was to describe and compare B mode and elastographic characteristics of the pectineus muscle of healthy dogs with dysplastic dogs. Thirty-one dogs (62 limbs) with hip dysplasia and 17 nondysplastic dogs (34 limbs) were evaluated. The hip dysplasia score was defined according to the Fédération Cynologique Internationale. Using B mode, echotexture and echogenicity of different regions of the pectineus muscle were evaluated. This study was conducted to examine how various methods affect the results of eggshell thickness measurements. Direct and indirect measurements were performed on 700 table eggs which were daily collected from the same flock. The shell thickness of the eggs was calculated according to a logarithm which uses egg weight. Twelve multiparous Nili Ravi buffaloes were assigned to 1 of 3 treatments in a randomized, replicated 3 × 3 Latin square design to evaluate the effect of chemical (calcium propionate)- and toxin binder (sodium bentonite)-treated cotton seed cake (CSC) on milk yield and transfer of milk toxin (M1). The productive performance and egg quality traits of hens in an organic production system in Turkey were executed in this paper. A total of 6000 hens were reared in an organic system for 72 weeks. Two organic certified houses each with a capacity of 3000 hens were used in the study. Mean egg production during the laying period was 303 eggs per hen. Laying rate was 80.24% for 72 weeks, while mortality was 8.85%. The internal and external egg quality traits were determined between 25 and 72 weeks.
