Discrete Alarm Clock, Travis Moore, Collin Barth
Discrete Alarm Clock, Travis Moore, Collin Barth
Electrical Engineering
The standard alarm clock, as used daily by millions worldwide, has clear room for modification and improvement. This paper documents an implementation that rectifies many of these flaws. Improvements include adjustable snooze length, an IR remote for ease of use, and an RF headset for discrete alarm use or potential incorporation into a device much like a hearing aid. The processes involved in creating a digital alarm clock, as well as the obstacles met in the implementation of the enhanced design, are detailed within.
Parameterizable Network-On-Chip Emulation Framework, Jaya Suseela
Parameterizable Network-On-Chip Emulation Framework, Jaya Suseela
UNLV Theses, Dissertations, Professional Papers, and Capstones
Networks-on-Chip (NoCs) have been proposed as a promising solution to complex on-chip communication problems. But there is no public accessible HDL synthesizable NoC framework which connects industrial level cores and runs real applications on them. Moreover, many challenging research problems remain unsolved at all levels of design abstraction; design exploration of NoC architecture for applications, scheduling and mapping algorithms, evaluation of switching, topology or routing algorithm for efficient execution of application and optimizing communication cost, area, energy etc Solution to solve the above problem calls for the development of synthesizable, parameterizable NoC Framework that would evaluate and implement the above …
Asynchronous Ds-Ss Cdma Random Spreading Code Correlation Statistics In The Presence Of Timing Error, David W. Matolak
Asynchronous Ds-Ss Cdma Random Spreading Code Correlation Statistics In The Presence Of Timing Error, David W. Matolak
Faculty Publications
We quantify the effect of timing tracking errors upon 2nd order correlation statistics of random binary spreading codes and, in so doing, fill a gap in the literature. Using a Gaussian model for timing tracking error, new expressions for autocorrelation statistics are derived. For crosscorrelations, we show that a zero mean Gaussian timing error has no effect upon 2nd order crosscorrelation statistics.
A Multiplier-Less Architecture For High Speed Computation Of Multi-Dimensional Convolution, Ming Zhu Zhang
A Multiplier-Less Architecture For High Speed Computation Of Multi-Dimensional Convolution, Ming Zhu Zhang
Electrical & Computer Engineering Theses & Dissertations
One of the most computationally intensive operations in digital image/video processing systems is multi-dimensional convolution. Every image/video processor needs the convolution module in its pre-processing stage. Fast and efficient design of the convolution module in an application specific system is a great challenge in VLSI (Very Large Scale Integration) design. Convolution operator requires a large set of multipliers and accumulators. A high precision multiplier takes enormous amount of VLSI area and it consumes more power. Hence reduction of the number of multipliers is another important challenge in VLSI design. A multiplier-less architecture for the design of a multi-dimensional convolution module …
Surface-To-Surface Transition Via Electromagnetic Coupling Of Coplanar Waveguides, Robert W. Jackson, David W. Matolak
Surface-To-Surface Transition Via Electromagnetic Coupling Of Coplanar Waveguides, Robert W. Jackson, David W. Matolak
Faculty Publications
A transition is investigated which couples coplanar waveguide on one substrate surface (a motherboard) to coplanar waveguide on another substrate surface (a semiconductor chip or subarray) placed above the first. No wire bonds are necessary. A full-wave analysis using coupled line theory is presented and verified experimentally. The use of this transition for coupling to millimeter-wave integrated circuits is discussed.
