Synthesis And Photoluminescence Properties Of Graphene Quantum Dots Prepared Via Carbonization Under Pressure Reduction, Sutthipoj Wongrerkdee, Pichitchai Pimpang

This study reports the synthesis of graphene quantum dots (GQDs) via a bottom-up carbonization approach using citric acid as a precursor under various reduced pressure conditions. The carbonization process was carried out at 250℃ in an ethanol medium, with atmospheric pressures ranging from normal to 20 inHg below atmospheric pressure. The effects of pressure reduction on the size and optical properties of GQDs were systematically investigated. Dynamic light scattering (DLS), UV–Vis spectroscopy, and fluorescence spectroscopy revealed that pressure reduction during synthesis decreased GQDs size and induced a blue-shift in both absorption and emission spectra. Bacterial cellulose extracted and purified from Nata de coco was employed as a platform for Cu2+ ion adsorption. 4-vinylbenzyl chloride (VBC) was successfully grafted at the hydroxyl position by using gamma irradiation. The optimum was typically related to VBC concentration of 2% (v/v) and a radiation dose of 50 kGy. FTIR significantly reported the functional group of C-Cl related to VBC. No change of crystallinity and morphology was observed. The thermal decomposition was stable up to 200℃. The Cu pillar flip chip is currently designed and used in the optic communication device that it has exhibited low reliability at high temperature. This paper aims to report the reliability of Cu pillar flip chip assembled on electronics board for a new optoelectronic product subjected to high temperature storage testing. The test was performed at 150℃ isothermal condition with the various storage times up to 2000 h. Currently, there is intense competition to develop models that can accurately estimate the critical temperature across a wide range of superconductors, while striving for straightforward derivations and comprehensive predictions. In this work, we present an approach to determining the critical temperature based on the linearized Eliashberg gap equations employing the bandwidth model. To verify the accuracy of our model, we collect Eliashberg spectral functions from various independent studies, compute the necessary parameters, and solve the Eliashberg gap equations numerically to obtain the exact solutions, along with utilizing the modified Allen-Dynes equation. This study aims to establish an integrated experimental–numerical framework for characterizing the deformation behavior of DP590 high-strength steel sheet. The framework combines experimental uniaxial tensile and Nakajima tests with finite element (FE) simulations to provide a comprehensive assessment of forming limits and fracture behavior. Forming limit curves (FLCs) and forming limit stress curves (FLSCs) were determined with the integrated approach and then validated numerically using the Hill’48 yield criterion together with both Swift and Voce hardening laws. Model calibration incorporated experimental data on directional mechanical properties to ensure that material anisotropy was accurately represented. Holy basil essential oil (HBEO) is a therapeutic agent recognized for its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and wound-healing properties. However, its clinical use is limited by poor aqueous solubility, volatility, and instability. Nanoemulsion (NE) is an effective strategy to overcome these limitations. In this study, 1% HBEO in 0.5% polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) aqueous solution formulation yielded nanosized droplets (182±3 nm, PDI = 0.286) and showed sustained release, with 92% drug release over 30 h, compared to the rapid release for 1% HBEO in pure water. This study investigates the development of novel biodegradable composites utilizing guar gum (GG), polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), and Crotalaria pallida (CP) fibers, along with wood and nanocellulose, and their characterization. The interaction between diamond and a nickel (Ni) layer plays a crucial role in understanding the formation of graphene and its energy dynamics on metal-diamond substrates. In this study, we investigate the optimal positions of graphene relative to a catalyst layer on diamond by analyzing total energies obtained from self-consistent field (SCF) calculations using Quantum ESPRESSO. The structures of graphene, diamond (100), and the catalyst layers were constructed and simulated both individually and in combination. Zinc oxide-functionalized biochar (biochar-ZnO) from rambutan wood, an agricultural waste, was prepared to increase a value of biochar from rambutan, an important economic fruit crop in Thailand, for the first time. Biochar-ZnO was synthesized by a sol-gel process. X-ray diffraction (XRD) spectra suggest that the biochar consists of amorphous carbon mainly and confirm the success of zinc oxide functionalization on the biochar surface. Muncul interpretasi ganda antara memandang restitusi sebagai kompensasi atas kerugian keuangan negara dan sebagai mekanisme untuk menyita keuntungan ilegal. Heavy metal pollution, particularly chromium (Cr) from electroplating industrial waste, has severely threatened environmental quality and human health. This study aims to develop a composite adsorbent material based on bentonite and god crown biomass capable of removing chromium ions from liquid waste through a combination of reduction and adsorption mechanisms. The god crown/bentonite (GC/Bt) composite was synthesized at a mass ratio of 2:1 and calcined at 900°C. In this study, the accumulation of heavy metals (Cd, Cr, Cu, Fe, and Pb) in water, suspended sediments, sediments, and seagrass in Kalase Bay, Trang Province, Thailand, during the 2024 dry season was investigated. These findings indicate that the enrichment factor (EF) for all the metals was less than 1, suggesting that anthropogenic contamination is not a significant concern in the area. The translocation factor (TF) values were less than 1 for all the metals except Cu, whose TF was greater than 1; however, these values were not statistically significant, indicating limited phytoextraction capacity. This study presents a comprehensive multihazard risk assessment for Mueang Tak District, Thailand, that integrates hazard, vulnerability, and exposure (H-V-E) dimensions. By utilizing geographic information systems (GIS) and remote sensing, the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) was employed to prioritize critical risk factors. GIS analysis integrated multisource spatial data, including Landsat 9 and Sentinel-2 imagery, CHIRPS precipitation, and SRTM-derived topography, while AHP weights were established on the basis of expert judgment and socioeconomic indices such as the relative wealth index (RWI) and population statistics. In this study, the physicochemical properties of wastewater were characterized, and a quantitative microbial risk assessment (QMRA) of E. coli was conducted in the wastewater treatment system of the Faculty of Science and Technology, Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University, under the Royal Patronage, Pathum Thani, Thailand (VRU-SciTech). Crude oil negatively affects soil physicochemical properties and microbial activity, thereby hindering plant growth and posing notable environmental and agricultural issues. The increasing deployment of crystalline silicon (c-Si) photovoltaic (PV) panels has raised concerns about their waste management. This study evaluated management strategies for discarded c-Si PV panels in Thailand, integrating environmental and economic analyses. Life cycle assessment (LCA) and cost-effectiveness analysis (CEA) were applied. The LCA can be divided into 2 parts: (1) secured landfill vs decentralized recycling by existing facilities vs centralized full recovery and (2) reusing PV panels in agricultural applications. The increasing severity of global warming, primarily driven by greenhouse gas emissions, underscores the urgent need for CO2 reduction and utilization strategies. Converting CO2 into methanol presents a promising approach, as methanol serves both as a fuel and a feedstock in various industries. This study evaluates the life cycle environmental impacts of three methanol production routes: (1) direct CO2 hydrogenation, (2) ethanol-assisted CO2 hydrogenation, and (3) propanol-assisted CO2 hydrogenation. This research utilizes activated carbon derived from residual Eucalyptus wood (EW) for the removal of methyl orange (MO). The residual Eucalyptus wood-based activated carbon (EWAC) was produced through carbonization at 400 °C (EWC) followed by activation with a mass ratio of H3PO4 to EWC of 1:3, which was conducted at 800 °C for 1 h. Antibiotic pollution is of great interest owing to growing concerns about antibiotic resistance worldwide. This study aims to fabricate acid-modified biochar (CBM-A) from corn plant byproducts (CRs) for sulfamethoxazole (SMX) adsorption in aqueous solutions. CBM-A was synthesized via pyrolysis at 700 °C and modified with 14% H3PO4. Kinetics, isotherms, and thermodynamics were investigated in combination with material characterization to elucidate the adsorption behaviors and mechanisms. Mangrove forests are vital blue carbon sinks that contribute to climate change mitigation and coastal resilience. This study assessed the carbon stock and spatial‒temporal dynamics of a mangrove forest in Hung Thang commune, Hai Phong Province, Vietnam, via a combination of field measurements, soil organic carbon (SOC) analysis, and normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI)-based remote sensing models. The results revealed that mangroves in the Hung Thang community store an average of 87.42 tC ha-1, with SOC accounting for approximately 19% of the total carbon. In this study, the concentrations of heavy metals (As, Cd, Cr and Pb) in water, sediment, and hybrid catfish (Clarias gariepinus x C. macrocephalus) as well as chromosomal abnormalities (CAs) from a reservoir affected by leachate from a municipal landfill were compared to those in an unaffected reservoir. This research investigated the development of MnFe2O4-based composite adsorbents (MFO@CFA and MFO@CFB) by activating coffee husk-derived biochar with HNO3 and NaOH, followed by synthesis through coprecipitation and hydrothermal techniques. The structural and chemical properties of the nanocomposites were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. Thailand produces fruit peels and seeds rich in natural polymers, which can serve as eco-friendly coagulants to control algal blooms. In this study, banana peel (Musa spp.), orange peel (Citrus sinensis), basil seed (Ocimum basilicum) mucilage, and chia seed (Salvia hispanica) mucilage were used. These activated natural coagulants with aluminum were compared with nonactivated and commercial coagulants (ferric sulfate, ferrous sulfate, and polyaluminum chloride) for Microcystis removal.
