An Adaptive Nonlinear Fuel Injection Control Algorithm For Motorcycle Engine, Tung-Chieh Chen, Chiu-Feng Lin, Chyuan-Yow Tseng, Chung-Ying Chen
Journal of Marine Science and Technology
The purpose of this research is to apply an adaptive fuel injection control algorithm on a motorcycle engine and evaluate its performance. A highly nonlinear switching type EGO sensor is used to measure the air fuel ratio of the engine. In the research, the nonlinear control algorithm is developed based on a Lyapunov function. Furthermore, an observer is also applied to estimate the air flow rate into the combustion room. The results show that the air fuel ratio and engine speed are stable under steady manoeuvres and the air-fuel ratio values are satisfactory.

According to the D(degree) E(extent) R (relevancy) evaluation method, which is widely used by civil engineers in Taiwan the existing RC bridges with and without stridden rivers can be divided into 21 and 17 substructures, respectively. The use of the weighting value and the cost relation is to attain the relationship between the total engineering system construction cost and the …
Laminar Film Condensation On A Horizontal Plate In A Porous Medium With Surface Tension Effects, Tong-Bou Chang
Laminar Film Condensation On A Horizontal Plate In A Porous Medium With Surface Tension Effects, Tong-Bou Chang
Journal of Marine Science and Technology
The problem of steady filmwise condensation on a finite-size horizontal plate embedded in a porous medium is studied for the case in which a cold plate faces upwards with a dry saturation vapor. Due to the effects of surface tension forces, there is a two-phase zone lying between the liquid film and the vapor zone. As in classical filmwise condensation problems, it is assumed that; (a) the inertia within the liquid film is negligible, and (b) the properties of porous medium, dry vapor, and condensate are constant. A dimensionless parameter Boc is introduced to characterize liquid flow due to surface …

A Study Of Overcharge Characteristic Of Lithium-Ion Cells, Jing Pang, Shi-Gang Lu, Sha Liu
Journal of Electrochemistry
The overcharge characteristics and effect factors of lithium-ion cells containing LiMn_(2)O_(4)cathodes were studied in detail.Overcharge testing of Lithium-ion cells with a systematic variation in the cell balance demonstrated that the overcharge characteristics of Lithium-ion cells was affected by the amount of cathode in the cells, which is independent of the amount of anode material. The rate of charge was found to be an important parameter,as electrolyte complete decomposition at low charge rates caused the end of overcharge testing, while high charge rates accelerated the rate of heat generation in the cells and the cell temperature increased as a result of insufficient heat dissipation. The …

Electrochemical Controllable Preparation Of Hydroxyapatite Coating With Different Morphologies And Preliminary In Vitro Tests, Hai-Yan Shi, Ren Hu, Chang-Jian Lin
Journal of Electrochemistry
The Controllable electrochemical deposition has been developed to prepare the hydroxyapatite(HA) coatings on Ti substrate with different morphologies and structures.Three kinds of typical topography of HA coatings,i.e.standing-up,flower and ordered porous structures have been obtained. The XRD and FTIR results demonstrate high crystallinity of the coating and exclusion of other forms of calcium phosphates. In vitro tests reveal that the biological property is largely dependent on the structure and morphology of the HA coating. It has been found that all pure HA coating show good biocompatibilities, while only the HA coating with ordered porous structures exhibits best bioactivities.
