Guides to Manuscript Collections

This collection is composed “Cavalry Drill Regulations, United States Army” in 1911, and pilot’s log book. The log book was owned by Howard E. Emmons and contains approximately twenty pages of materials spanning from July to December of 1918, beginning in the U.S. School of Military Aeronautics at the Ohio State University and including flight activities at Carruthers Field in Fort Worth, Texas. The regulations book was owned by -Delos?- -C.?- Emmons. Also included in the collection is a 1919 letter from the Air Service Flying School certifying that Howard Emmons has 253 hours and 20 minutes of flying time …

A Correlation Study Of The Washington Pre-College Test Scores To Determine Which Scores Are The Best Predictors Of Success In Flight Aviation At The Big Bend Community College, Richard H. Pearce

The purpose of this study is to determine how a student's Washington Pre-College test results and his high school grade point average can best be used in deciding which people have the greatest chance to succeed in the Big Bend Community College flight aviation program. For the past four years of the aviation program it has been necessary to choose approximately seventy students for the program from as many as two hundred applicants. "Training in the discipline of Mechanical Engineering is offered in South Vietnam by the School of Mechanical Engineering, one of four engineering schools and a Merchant Marine School composing the National Technical Center located presently in the Phu Tho region of Saigon, South Vietnam. The school was established in 1956 for the training of engineers, for mechanical and industrial activities. It became part of the National Technical Center, established by Decree No. 213-Gd by the President of the Republic of Vietnam on June 29, 1957 and graduated the first class of 20 in the summer of 1960. In 1946 Mr K. S. Lennie, of Sydney Technical College conducted a survey of opinion on Professional Engineering Education in Australia. He submitted a questionnaire to 200 representative individuals concerned with engineering including graduate and non-graduate engineers, senior and junior engineers, university and technical college teachers, and industrialists, government and private, representing both civil and mechanical engineering. Replies were received from 41% of those approached, and from an analysis of those replies the conclusions were reached which are presented in this bulletin.
