The national nursing shortage is projected to increase as the bulk of the United States population ages out of the workforce and is likely to require more age-related healthcare services. The lack of ethnic, racial, and gender-based diversity in the current workforce exacerbates this shortage, and the need for a diversified workforce acknowledged by governing nursing bodies from as early as 2011 is still largely unmet. In higher education, the focus on student success often takes center stage in research and the professor-as-teacher practice. While numerous empirical studies concentrate on the growth and development of undergraduate students, this dissertation delves into professors’ relational and felt experiences in positive teaching-learning relationships. Four terminal-degreed professors from four different schools and three different disciplines–education, humanities, and leadership–engaged in photography and were then interviewed. Participants reflected on their photographs and their experiences in a teaching-learning relationship with their students. Leveraging the researcher’s unique diverse cultural and educational background, this dissertation explores integrating social emotional learning (SEL) within an innovative pedagogy of “with-ness” (PoW) towards planetary well-being in educational settings. The overarching purpose is to redefine educational strategies through SEL and PoW to advance planetary well-being in tertiary contexts. This paper presents a concept of producing aluminum in-situ on the lunar surface, namely, the Lunar In-Situ Aluminum Production through Molten Salt Electrolysis (LISAP-MSE) method developed at Missouri University of Science and Technology. This paper aims to demonstrate the use of electro-deoxidation to reduce aluminum oxide (i.e., alumina) into aluminum and oxygen gas via electrolysis in a molten salt bath for the production of aluminum on the Moon. It is shown that with a steady supply of hydrogen chloride, this in-situ resource utilization (ISRU) method could supply several necessary materials consumed in the electro-deoxidation process except hydrogen chloride to produce …

This paper investigates the expectations that a group of preservice secondary mathematics teachers had for how students would approach four particular algebra problems. Their responses to a set of open-ended items were content analysed. Findings show that the teachers ranged in the expectations that they held for their students. Some teachers expected their students would approach the problems with more sophisticated problem-solving strategies, but many of the teachers expected that the students would only use less desirable “guess-and-check” strategies. We believe teachers’ expectations for student strategies for problem-solving is a topic that warrants further investigation.

Aligned with emerging research agendas for critical (intersectional and decolonial) climate justice, this research aims to co-create place-based knowledges and actions about how communities and movements organise for climate justice. Organising for climate justice in Western Australia (WA) is particularly difficult because of the strong influence of the fossil fuel industry and the prevailing racial capitalist, colonial, and patriarchal responses to climate change in policy and mainstream climate movements. These systems of power often reproduce, for example, intersecting gender, race, and class inequalities, which marginalise communities most impacted by climate injustice. This study examines the school climate of 40 elementary and middle schools in California's Central Valley and its impact on academic performance and attendance, comparing pre-pandemic (2018-2019) with post-pandemic (2021-2022 and 2022-2023) data. The development of in situ resource utilization (ISRU) for metal extraction is imperative as a steppingstone for habitation construction in lunar and non-terrestrial environments. Separation of minerals by chemical composition is important to optimize metal and oxygen liberation from lunar ore. to this effect, devices capable of separating aluminum bearing minerals from iron-bearing minerals from the lunar regolith simulants have been developed. Twenty-eight different simulants have been used in this study. a dual-belt separator was designed to reduce middlings. A new kinetic particle modeling framework was developed to investigate electrostatic transport of lunar regolith particles with applications to the concept of electrostatic sieving. the new approach is based on kinetic particle dynamics and includes major modules of sampling the particle size distribution, solving electric fields, and tracking motion of charged dust grains. Case studies for a concept of electrostatic sieving were chosen to validate the new model. the simulation achieved similar yields reported in previous works, which served as validation of the model. the new model is computationally efficient and could serve as a design, analysis, and optimization tool.

In pursuit of sustainable resource utilization on the Moon, this paper delves into modeling and characterization of particle size distribution (PSD) of lunar regolith simulants in an electrostatic system. A prototype electrostatic sieve was built and tested with four sample simulants mirroring properties of lunar mare and highland regolith. An alternating four-phase (90 degrees, 180 degrees, 270 degrees, 360 degrees) traveling square-wave was utilized for particle-directed transport to model the diverse trajectories of the particles. This study, conducted at a private STEM university in the Southeastern United States, presents a series of qualitative and quantitative data validating the Critical Teaching Behaviors Midterm Feedback Instrument (CTB-MFI). The instrument’s validity and reliability were tested through a mixed-methods approach involving faculty surveys, statistical analyses, and a student experience survey and focus groups. A confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) suggests that the CTB-MFI model has excellent fit across multiple indicators, as well as excellent convergent validity. However, low discriminant validity indicates possible correlations between categories of critical teaching behaviors. Data further show that faculty and students perceive the instrument as …

การสอนวิชาเคมีให้มีประสิทธิภาพและประสิทธิผลนั้นขึ้นอยู่กับความสามารถของครูในการอธิบายความเป็นนามธรรมของวิชาเคมีให้นักเรียนสามารถเข้าใจแนวคิดทางเคมีได้ ดังนั้น เพื่อช่วยให้นักเรียนเข้าใจวิชาเคมีมากขึ้นจึงจำเป็นต้องมีสื่อการเรียนรู้เพื่อช่วยอธิบายความเป็นนามธรรมของวิชาเคมี เมื่อสำรวจสื่อการเรียนรู้ดิจิทัลวิชาเคมีของไทยในปัจจุบัน ยังไม่มีแหล่งหรือฐานข้อมูลใดที่รวบรวมสื่อการเรียนรู้ดิจิทัลวิชาเคมีทั้งของไทยและของต่างประเทศไว้ด้วยกันและรวบรวมจัดทำเป็นข้อมูลอภิพันธุ์ (metadata) ไว้เพื่อให้สะดวกต่อการสืบค้น ผู้วิจัยจึงสนใจที่จะพัฒนาฐานข้อมูลที่รวบรวมสื่อการเรียนรู้ดิจิทัล ผู้วิจัยพัฒนาฐานข้อมูลสื่อการเรียนรู้ดิจิทัลสำหรับวิชาเคมีโดยนำข้อมูลที่รวบรวมได้จากคัดเลือกสื่อที่เป็นไปตามเกณฑ์ แล้ววิเคราะห์ข้อมูลหลากหลายรูปแบบที่ได้จำแนกประเภท ลักษณะของการใช้รูปแบบที่หลากหลายและประเมินคุณภาพตามเกณฑ์ของไทยและต่างประเทศ คัดเลือกสื่อมารวบรวมเพื่อนำไปสร้างต้นแบบฐานข้อมูลสื่อการดิจิทัลวิชาเคมี (prototypes) โดยใช้ AppSheet ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1. เมื่อใช้การวิเคราะห์หลากหลายรูปแบบ พบว่า การใช้รูปแบบที่หลากหลายภายในสื่อการเรียนรู้ดิจิทัลวิชาเคมี โดยแบ่งเป็น 5 รูปแบบ ได้แก่ ข้อความ ภาพ ภาพเคลื่อนไหว เสียง และสัญศาสตร์ทางเคมี 2. เมื่อนำสื่อการเรียนรู้ดิจิทัลวิชาเคมีมาประเมินคุณภาพสื่อโดยเทียบกับเกณฑ์ของไทยและเกณฑ์ของต่างประเทศ พบว่า สื่อการเรียนรู้ดิจิทัลวิชาเคมีของไทยที่ผ่านเกณฑ์ทั้งหมด 49 สื่อจากเดิมที่คัดเลือกมา 57 สื่อ และสื่อการเรียนรู้ดิจิทัลวิชาเคมีของต่างประเทศที่ผ่านเกณฑ์ทั้งหมด 68 สื่อ จากเดิมที่คัดเลือกมา 75 สื่อ 3. ฐานข้อมูลสื่อการเรียนรู้วิชาเคมีที่พัฒนาขึ้น มีรายการแสดงจุดประสงค์ฐานข้อมูล ข้อมูลเบื้องต้นของสื่อ วิธีการใช้ฐานข้อมูล รายละเอียดของประเภทสื่อและหัวข้อเคมี 4. ผลการประเมินคุณภาพฐานข้อมูลจากผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิโดยภาพรวมอยู่ในระดับเห็นด้วยมากและเห็นด้วยมากที่สุด และผลการสอบถามประสบการณ์ผู้ใช้งานจากครูและนิสิตครูเคมีพบว่าภาพรวมอยู่ในระดับเห็นมากที่สุดและเห็นด้วยมาก

Purpose. Academic well-being plays a crucial role in the success and satisfaction of medical students. However, the factors that contribute to academic well-being in this population are not well understood. This study aims to investigate the impact of spiritual health and hope on predicting academic well-being in a sample of medical students from Iran.

The four-day school week is a school calendar that has become increasingly common following the COVID-19 pandemic. Proponents of the calendar often claim that offering teachers a regular 3-day weekend will help schools better retain existing teachers and recruit new teachers to their district without incurring additional costs due to higher salaries or other pecuniary benefits. However, there is scant empirical evidence assessing these claims. การศึกษาในระดับบัณฑิตศึกษา นิสิตส่วนมากจำเป็นต้องรับผิดชอบทั้งการเรียนและการทำงาน หากไม่สามารถจัดการต่อความรับผิดชอบให้สมดุล อาจเผชิญกับความขัดแย้งระหว่างงานกับการศึกษา ที่นำไปสู่ภาวะความท้อแท้ในการเรียนได้ การวิจัยครั้งนี้จึงดำเนินการ (1) เพื่อวิเคราะห์ความสัมพันธ์เชิงสาเหตุของภาวะความท้อแท้ในการเรียนที่เกิดจากความขัดแย้งระหว่างงานกับการศึกษาของนิสิตระดับบัณฑิตศึกษา (2) เพื่อวิเคราะห์ลักษณะและจัดกลุ่มภาวะความท้อแท้ในการเรียนที่เกิดจากความขัดแย้งระหว่างงานกับการศึกษาของนิสิตระดับบัณฑิตศึกษา (3) เพื่อพัฒนาโมเดลทำนายความท้อแท้ในการเรียนที่เกิดจากความขัดแย้งระหว่างงานกับการศึกษาของนิสิตระดับบัณฑิตศึกษา และ (4) เพื่อพัฒนาระบบการประเมินตนเองและการจัดการความขัดแย้งระหว่างงานกับการศึกษาของนิสิตระดับบัณฑิตศึกษา แบ่งการวิจัยเป็น 3 ระยะ ในระยะแรกคือ การศึกษาความสัมพันธ์เชิงสาเหตุ และการวิเคราะห์การจัดกลุ่มภาวะความท้อแท้ในการเรียนที่เกิดจากความขัดแย้งระหว่างงานกับการศึกษาของนิสิตระดับบัณฑิตศึกษา ต่อมาคือการพัฒนาโมเดลทำนายภาวะความท้อแท้ในการเรียนที่เกิดจากความขัดแย้งระหว่างงานกับการศึกษาของนิสิตระดับบัณฑิตศึกษา และระยะสุดท้ายคือการพัฒนาข้อเสนอแนะต่อการจัดการต่อความขัดแย้งระหว่างงานกับการศึกษาและการพัฒนาระบบการประเมินตนเองและการจัดการความขัดแย้งระหว่างงานกับการศึกษา ผลการวิจัยสามารถสรุปได้ดังนี้ 1) ผลการวิเคราะห์ความสัมพันธ์เชิงสาเหตุ พบว่า โมเดลความสัมพันธ์เชิงสาเหตุของภาวะความท้อแท้ในการเรียนโดยมีความขัดแย้งระหว่างงานกับการศึกษาเป็นตัวแปรส่งผ่าน มีความสอดคล้องกับข้อมูลเชิงประจักษ์ (Chi-square(6, N = 160) = 20.678, p < .01, RMSEA = .124, SRMR = .075, CFI = .905, TLI = .793) 2) ผลวิเคราะห์การจัดกลุ่มลักษณะภาวะความท้อแท้ในการเรียนที่เกิดจากความขัดแย้งระหว่างงานกับการศึกษาของนิสิตระดับบัณฑิตศึกษา ด้วยการวิเคราะห์กลุ่มแฝง พบว่า สามารถจัดกลุ่มลักษณะของภาวะความท้อแท้ในการเรียนได้จำนวน 4 กลุ่ม (Entropy = 0.950, LL=-2989.508, AIC=6125.016, BIC=6349.504) 3) ผลการพัฒนาโมเดลทำนายภาวะความท้อแท้ในการเรียนของนิสิตระดับบัณฑิตศึกษา พบว่า โมเดลการทำนายมีความแม่นยำ (accuracy) เป็นร้อยละ 90.90 มีความไว (sensitivity) ต่อการระบุกลุ่มเป็นร้อยละ 87.50 มีความจำเพาะ (specificity) ร้อยละ 97.28 มีความถูกต้องแม่นยำในการทำนาย (precision) ร้อยละ 89.28 และมีคะแนน F1-score เป็น .8557 4) ผลการพัฒนาระบบการประเมินตนเองและการจัดการความขัดแย้งระหว่างงานกับการศึกษาของนิสิตระดับบัณฑิตศึกษา ได้ทดลองใช้กับนิสิตระดับบัณฑิตศึกษาจำนวน 84 คน พบว่า ระบบมีคะแนนประสิทธิภาพเป็น 72.17 คะแนน และนิสิตระบุว่าระบบการประเมินตนเองอยู่ในช่วงที่ยอมรับได้ (acceptable) จำนวน 50 คน (ร้อยละ 59.52)

As grizzly bears (Ursus arctos horriblis) begin to reoccupy more of their historic range, and as humans and large carnivore populations continue to increase, incidences of human carnivore conflict are on the rise. A decolonial curriculum designed in collaboration with the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribe’s wildlife biologists stands to increase awareness of Indigenous ecological knowledge and teach youth about the importance of coexistence with carnivores. Prior research underscores the pivotal role high school freshman grade-point averages (FGPA) play in college enrollment, with a focus predominantly on urban settings. This study broadens this perspective, employing a diverse Arkansas sample (n = 33,207), spanning rural, suburban, and urban high school students and filling a notable literature gap. Utilizing a logit analysis, we found that high school students with an A FGPA were 23% more likely to enroll in college than B FGPA peers. Those failing a course in their high school freshman year were 13% less likely to enroll in college. Among similar academic ability students, …

This critical qualitative study looked to better understand the education system as an oppressive force, as well as highlight the strategies current Canadian teachers use to resist racism and colonialism in their classrooms. Using an inductive thematic analysis framework, my data sample consisted of 9 episodes from the podcast series The Chey and Pav Show: Teachers Talking Teaching featuring Toronto-based educators Chey Cheney and Pav (Pawan) Wander. การวิจัยครั้งนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) ศึกษาสภาพปัญหาการเขียนสะกดคำที่เกิดขึ้นของนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 1 โรงเรียนสาธิตจุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย ฝ่ายประถม 2) พัฒนาและตรวจสอบคุณภาพของชุดเครื่องมือการประเมินเพื่อการเรียนรู้ของนักเรียนที่มีปัญหาด้านการเขียนสะกดคำ 3) เพื่อเปรียบเทียบทักษะด้านการเขียนสะกดคำและศึกษาพัฒนาการด้านการเขียนสะกดคำของนักเรียนก่อน-หลังใช้ชุดเครื่องมือการประเมินเพื่อการเรียนรู้ของนักเรียนที่มีปัญหาด้านเขียนสะกดคำ การศึกษานี้ใช้ระเบียบวิธีวิจัยแบบการวิจัยและพัฒนา (R&D) คัดเลือกตัวอย่างวิจัยด้วยวิธีการเลือกแบบเจาะจงโดยเป็นนักเรียนที่มีปัญหาด้านการเขียนสะกดคำ จำนวน 30 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัยประกอบด้วย 1) แบบสัมภาษณ์ครูประจำชั้นที่สอนวิชาภาษาไทย ระดับชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 1 2) แบบฝึกทักษะด้านการเขียนสะกดคำ 3) แบบทดสอบก่อนเรียน-หลังเรียน ในส่วนของการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้ค่าเฉลี่ยร้อยละ ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน ความเที่ยงของแบบสอบ การวิเคราะห์เปรียบเทียบผลคะแนนก่อนเรียนและหลังเรียนโดยใช้สถิติการทดสอบค่าที (t-test) และการวิเคราะห์คะแนนพัฒนาการหลังการใช้ชุดเครื่องมือการประเมินเพื่อการเรียนรู้ทักษะด้านการเขียนสะกดคำ ด้วยการหาคะแนนพัฒนาการสัมพัทธ์ ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1) สภาพปัญหาการเขียนสะกดคำประกอบไปด้วยประเด็นปัญหาหลักด้านทักษะและความรู้เรื่องการสะกดคำ 2) ผลการพัฒนาและตรวจสอบคุณภาพของชุดเครื่องมือมีค่าดัชนีความสอดคล้องของเนื้อหา ตั้งแต่ 0.60 – 1.00 และค่าความเที่ยงจากสัมประสิทธิ์แอลฟ่าของครอนบาร์คของแบบทดสอบ ก่อนและหลังเรียน มีค่าเท่ากับ .95 และ .94 ตามลำดับ ซึ่งอยู่ในระดับดี 3) การเปรียบเทียบค่าสถิติการทดสอบก่อนและหลังการใช้ชุดเครื่องมือ คะแนนก่อนเรียน (M = 4.76 , SD = 3.50) คะแนนหลังเรียน (M = 10.20 , SD = 4.14) ค่าคะแนนทีได้เท่ากับ 10.97 ค่า p เท่ากับ .001 แสดงให้เห็นว่านักเรียนมีผลสัมฤทธิ์ทางการเรียนด้านการเขียนสะกดคำ เพิ่มขึ้นอย่างชัดเจนหลังใช้ชุดเครื่องมือ โดยมีค่าคะแนนเฉลี่ยเพิ่มขึ้นจาก 4.76 เป็น 10.20

การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ 1) เพื่อวิเคราะห์ภาษามือไทยที่ครูใช้สื่อสารกับนักเรียนที่มีความต้องการพิเศษในชั้นเรียน 2) เพื่อพัฒนาและประเมินประสิทธิภาพโมเดลรู้จำภาษามือไทยโดยใช้การเรียนรู้เชิงลึก และ 3) เพื่อวิเคราะห์ผลการใช้โมเดลรู้จำภาษามือไทยเพื่อสนับสนุนการสื่อสารระหว่างนิสิตครูกับนักเรียนที่มีความต้องการพิเศษ การวิจัยแบ่งเป็น 3 ตอน ตอนที่ 1 การวิเคราะห์ภาษามือไทยที่ครูใช้สื่อสารกับนักเรียนที่มีความต้องการพิเศษในชั้นเรียน ตัวอย่างวิจัยคือครูการศึกษาพิเศษในโรงเรียนสอนคนหนูหนวก เครื่องมือวิจัยคือแบบสอบถามความถี่การใช้งานประโยคภาษามือ และวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลจากแบบสอบถามโดยใช้ค่าเฉลี่ยและร้อยละ ตอนที่ 2 การพัฒนาและประเมินประสิทธิภาพโมเดลรู้จำภาษามือไทยโดยใช้การเรียนรู้เชิงลึก ตัวอย่างวิจัยคืออาสาสมัครที่มีความสามารถในการใช้ภาษามือ การวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลผู้วิจัยเลือกใช้โมเดลการเรียนรู้เชิงลึก convolutional neural network (CNN) ร่วมกับ recurrent neural network (RNN) จำนวน 4 โมเดล ในการพัฒนาโมเดลรู้จำภาษามือไทยจำนวน 20 ประโยค โดยใช้ข้อมูลจากวิดีโอที่ถ่ายทำกับอาสาสมัคร จากนั้นเปรียบเทียบประสิทธิภาพของโมเดลโดยพิจารณาจากความถูกต้อง ขนาดของโมเดล เวลาที่ใช้ในการฝึกสอนโมเดล และเวลาที่ใช้ในการทำนาย เพื่อนำโมเดลที่มีประสิทธิภาพสูงสุดไปใช้ประเมินประสิทธิภาพของโมเดลในการจำแนกประโยคภาษามือในภาพรวมและในแต่ละประโยคโดยใช้ค่า accuracy precision recall และ F1-score ตอนที่ 3 การวิเคราะห์ผลการใช้โมเดลรู้จำภาษามือไทยเพื่อสนับสนุนการสื่อสารระหว่างนิสิตครูกับนักเรียนที่มีความต้องการพิเศษ ตัวอย่างวิจัยคือนิสิตครู เครื่องมือวิจัยคือแบบสอบถามการใช้โมเดลรู้จำภาษามือไทย และวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลจากแบบสอบถามโดยใช้ค่าเฉลี่ย ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1) ภาษามือที่ใช้ในชั้นเรียนมักเป็นประโยคที่สั้นและกะทัดรัดมากกว่าภาษาพูด และภาษามือที่ใช้มากที่สุดจัดอยู่ในหมวดการเสริมแรง 2) การพัฒนาโมเดลรู้จำภาษามือไทยโดยใช้โมเดล EfficientNetB0 ร่วมกับ GRU สามารถจำแนกประโยคภาษามือได้มีประสิทธิภาพสูงสุดทั้งในด้านความถูกต้อง ขนาดของโมเดล เวลาที่ใช้ในการฝึกสอนโมเดล และเวลาที่ใช้ในการทำนาย และ 3) การประเมินประสิทธิภาพของโมเดลรู้จำภาษามือไทยโดยใช้ข้อมูลชุดทดสอบ โมเดลมีค่า accuracy เท่ากับ 0.78 ค่าเฉลี่ย precision เท่ากับ 0.79 ค่าเฉลี่ย recall เท่ากับ 0.78 และค่าเฉลี่ย F1-score เท่ากับ 0.78 โดยประโยคที่โมเดลสามารถจำแนกได้ดี ได้แก่ พร้อมยัง เข้าใจ และรู้ไหม และประโยคที่โมเดลจำแนกได้ไม่ดี ได้แก่ งานสวย ทำได้ไหม และถูกหรือผิด 4) การใช้โมเดลรู้จำภาษามือไทยสามารถช่วยสนับสนุนการสื่อสารระหว่างนิสิตครูกับนักเรียนที่มีความต้องการพิเศษได้ในระดับปานกลาง
