This paper described a survey of fraternity members' satisfaction with their experiences in a Residential Learning Community within Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. RLCs include a faculty member who has an office within the chapter facility, who teaches a course for credit within the chapter, and who supervises educational programming within the chapter. Chapters who attain RLC status must apply for re-accreditation as an RLC on a periodic basis.

Leadership And Longevity: A Study Of Presidential Selection In Higher Education, James O. Smith

The study's objective was to gain an understanding of presidential longevity by gathering archival data. This quantitative study collected data about eight predictor variables that included the Carnegie classification, gender, institutional status (public or private), institutional wealth, insider/outsider status, institutional quality, reporting line, and prior experience for two Carnegie classification groups that included doctoral and baccalaureate liberal arts institutions (N = 4 71 ). The assumption underlying this study was a belief that leadership stability is important to a particular institution. A Study Of Selected Student Attitudes Toward Factors That Influence Academic Achievement, Marquis L. Bennett

The purpose of this study was to investigate the attitudes of selected African-American male college students and the impact of financing, role-modeling, high school preparation, college/community acceptance, and family support on academic achievement at Rowan University. The study sought to determine if any of these factors had a significant relationship with academic achievement.

Academic achievement was measured by a self-reported GPA of 2.76 or higher, which was higher than Rowan University's minimum requirement (2.5) for graduation, and honors achievements (awards, certificates, honor societies). Responses were measured using a Likert scale of 1-Strongly Agree to 5-Strongly Disagree.

Perceived Benefits Of Involvement In Student Government, Kristen Diorio

The purpose of this study was to investigate the perceived benefits of being involved in student government at Rowan University. Thirty-five undergraduate students involved in the Student Government Association (SGA) at Rowan University completed a survey to determine their perceived benefits, discover why they decided to become involved, and to determine whether there was a pattern of involvement.

The findings showed that involved students saw positive benefits in the areas of: personal development, educational, and developing social skills. Rowan University students who were involved in SGA saw positive values from their experience. The higher level of involvement a student had …
