The purpose of the study was to investigate the relationship between how thoroughly School-wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (SW-PBIS) is implemented in elementary classrooms, junior kindergarten through fifth grade, and students’ and teachers’ perceptions of safety. An additional purpose was to investigate whether child knowledge of conflict resolution has a relationship with the perceptions of feeling safe. This study examined the academic and social-emotional outcomes and teacher perceptions of the initial implementation of a culturally responsive social-emotional learning Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) within a culturally homogenous rural Kindergarten Center. For this study, academic and behavioral student outcomes and teacher perceptions of both the implementation process and the outcomes of the implementation were explored. A quantitative ex post facto study based on students’ academic achievement scores and behavioral data, along with survey research to determine teacher perceptions, compared a cohort of students who participated in the culturally responsive social-emotional learning MTSS with a cohort that didn’t. Researchers have focused on the viewpoints of conventional public-school leaders regarding school policies and implementation that influence transgender pupil access to school facilities; the perceptions of charter school administrators are less known regarding this phenomenon. The purpose of this qualitative study was to explore the perceptions of charter school administrators regarding their school policies and implementation that influence transgender student access to school facilities that correspond to their gender identity. The disruptions of the COVID-19 pandemic have both short- and long-term repercussions on higher education. To crystallize these impacts in a sector that was particularly vulnerable to the economic effects of the pandemic, this mixed methods study explores the intersection of international education and community college responses to the pandemic. Findings indicated that due to the pandemic, community college international education programs faced a reallocation of institutional resources, both financial and otherwise, which shapes the educational opportunities available to students and informs the institutional habitus of the US community college. The purpose of this qualitative phenomenological study is to investigate the impact Hispanic school leaders have in schools that are primarily Hispanic. The Hispanic community is one of the fastest-growing in the United States. Hispanics are the largest student group represented in elementary and high schools yet are disproportionately underrepresented in school leadership. Hispanic school leaders experience challenges in gaining the education, opportunities, and work experience to achieve leadership roles in schools. This dissertation explores the role of relational trust and supportive measures through self-determination theory in the relationship between principal and teacher. It also highlights the nuances from the Latinx teacher perspective and how their needs may differ from other teachers in providing a more satisfying job experience. The role of the school principal in influencing teacher retention through teacher motivation and trust is especially true for Latinx teachers. When the working relationship between principal and teacher shows a high relational trust in combination with effective supportive measures, teacher satisfaction is increased, resulting in higher teacher retention. Space and place are central to understanding the production and maintenance of racial inequality in the United States. Though examinations of the racialized dynamics of space are present in other disciplines, higher education scholars have infrequently interrogated how space becomes racialized on college campuses. This conceptual paper functions as a much-needed intervention, articulating how the racialization of space at historically white colleges and universities occurs and the subsequent consequences for Students of Color. Despite significant investment in expanding post-secondary access and success for racially minori­tized populations within science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields, persistent educational disparities remain. While the literature has importantly identified and described the myri­ad ways in which students of color experience exclusion within STEM fields on the basis of race (and, perhaps, other social identity statuses), this area of scholarship is not always theoretically grounded in an understanding of racial hierarchies, processes of racialization, or theories of race and racism. This study aims to explore reimagined accountability through collective efforts initiated by school leaders and to challenge the fixed notion of accountability prescribed by policy scripts. Drawing on studies highlighting humanizing leadership and the metaphors of “agora” and “bazaar,” I investigate how school leaders (re)construct and (re)define meanings of accountability in their daily practices. Using portraiture as research method, I analyze qualitative data collected through observation, interviews, and artifacts in a rural school in the United States, over the course of the 2018–2019 school year. Sorority And Fraternity Life Professionals’ Perspectives On Challenges Faced By Culturally Based Sororities And Fraternities, Antonio Duran, Crystal E. Garcia, Hannah L. Reyes

Featuring the perspectives of 15 sorority and fraternity life (SFL) professionals, this qualitative study highlights the challenges culturally based sororities and fraternities face on college campuses. Guided by a framework grounded in concepts of organizational culture, findings revealed three issues that culturally based SFL organizations encounter: a predominant emphasis on historically white sororities and fraternities in SFL communities, a lack of human and financial capital, as well as inadequate advisor support and training. Implications for research and practice are offered.

This study explored how Students of Color within National Pan-Hellenic Council and Multicultural Greek Council sororities and fraternities engaged in activism and in what ways this involvement connected to their membership. Using a qualitative critical narrative approach, we examined the journeys of ten participants. Findings unpack ways participants engaged in activism and resistance aimed at educating individuals and increasing awareness of societal injustices, addressing inequities through service, and inciting disruption and cultivating institutional and societal level change.

Culturally based sororities emerged on college campuses in order to combat the race-based discrimination faced in historically white sororities. Despite their historic mission to attend to racial issues, questions remain of how culturally based sororities attend to other identities and forms of oppression in these spaces. Centering the stories of 20 Queer Women of Color, this critical narrative inquiry study sought to understand how members of culturally based sororities used gender-based rhetoric to regulate sexual minorities in these spaces. We share school leaders’ perspectives on Zoom videos concerning the needs of immigrant and refugee families in Title I schools. In these videos, participants crafted and shared personal narratives about their leadership experiences during the COVID-19 era of education. Rooted in participatory design research methods, the process of designing these videos were both a research project and an intervention to assist families and school leaders to better understand each other. การวิจัยนี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงบรรยาย มีวัตถุประสงค์ (1) เพื่อศึกษาระดับทักษะอารมณ์และสังคมนักเรียนโรงเรียนมัธยมศึกษาเอกชนในกรุงเทพมหานครตามแนวคิดทักษะอารมณ์และสังคม (2) เพื่อศึกษาความต้องการจำเป็นในการพัฒนาการบริหารกิจการนักเรียนโรงเรียนมัธยมศึกษาเอกชนในกรุงเทพมหานครตามแนวคิดทักษะอารมณ์และสังคม (3) เพื่อนำเสนอแนวทางพัฒนาการบริหารงานกิจการนักเรียนของโรงเรียนมัธยมศึกษาเอกชน ในกรุงเทพมหานครตามแนวคิดทักษะอารมณ์และสังคม ผู้ให้ข้อมูลกลุ่มที่ 1 ได้แก่ ผู้บริหารสถานศึกษา รองผู้อำนวยการสถานศึกษา หรือ หัวฝ่ายกิจการนักเรียน และครูผู้สอน โรงเรียนมัธยมศึกษาเอกชนในกรุงเทพมหานคร โดยการเลือกตัวอย่างแบบเจาะจง แบ่งเป็น ผู้บริหารสถานศึกษา จำนวน 82 คน รองผู้อำนวยการสถานศึกษาหรือ หัวฝ่ายกิจการนักเรียน จำนวน 82 คน ครูผู้สอน จำนวน 164 คน รวมจำนวน 328 คน ผู้ให้ข้อมูลกลุ่มที่ 2 ได้แก่ นักเรียนโรงเรียนมัธยมศึกษาเอกชนในกรุงเทพมหานครจำนวน 410 คน โดยคัดเลือกแบบเจาะจง ผู้ให้ข้อมูลกลุ่มที่ 3 ได้แก่ผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิจำนวน 5 ท่าน ประเมินความเหมาะสมและความเป็นไปได้ของร่าง เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย คือแบบสอบถามระดับทักษะอารมณ์และสังคมนักเรียนโรงเรียนมัธยมศึกษาเอกชนในกรุงเทพมหานครตามแนวคิดทักษะอารมณ์ลและสังคม แบบสอบถามสภาพปัจจุบันและสภาพที่พึงประสงค์ของการบริหารกิจการนักเรียนโรงเรียนมัธยมศึกษาเอกชนในกรุงเทพมหานครตามแนวคิดทักษะอารมณ์ลและสังคมสถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล ประกอบด้วย การแจกแจงความถี่ การหา ค่าร้อยละ การหาค่าเฉลี่ยเลขคณิต ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน การวิเคราะห์ความต้องการจำเป็น ฐานนิยม และการวิเคราะห์เชิงเนื้อหา ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1) ระดับทักษะอารมณ์และสังคมของนักเรียนโรงเรียนมัธยมศึกษาเอกชนในกรุงเทพมหานครตามแนวคิดทักษะอารมณ์และสังคม ภาพรวมอยู่ในระดับมากโดยมี ด้านการจัดการตนเอง มีค่าเฉลี่ยต่ำที่สุด 2) ความต้องการจำเป็นในการพัฒนาการบริหารกิจการนักเรียนของโรงเรียนมัธยมศึกษาเอกชนในกรุงเทพมหานครตามแนวคิดทักษะอารมณ์และสังคมด้านการส่งเสริมพัฒนาให้นักเรียนมีวินัย คุณธรรม จริยธรรม อยู่ในระดับปานกลาง รองลงมา คือ การดำเนินงานระบบการดูแลช่วยเหลือนักเรียน อยู่ในระดับมาก และ การวางแผนงานกิจการนักเรียน มีค่าเฉลี่ยต่ำที่สุด 3) แนวทางพัฒนาการบริหารงานกิจการนักเรียนของโรงเรียนมัธยมศึกษาเอกชนในกรุงเทพมหานครตามแนวคิดทักษะอารมณ์และสังคม นำเสนอไว้ 3 แนวทางดังนี้ (1) พัฒนาการบริหารกิจการนักเรียนที่เน้นการประเมินผลการดำเนินงานกิจการนักเรียนการนำผลการประเมินไปใช้ส่งเสริมทักษะอารมณ์และสังคมด้านการตระหนักรู้ทางสังคมและการสร้างสัมพันธภาพ (2) พัฒนาการบริหารกิจการนักเรียนที่เน้นการดำเนินงานกิจการนักเรียนทักษะอารมณ์และสังคมด้านการตระหนักรู้ทางสังคมและการตัดสินใจที่มีความรับผิดชอบ (3) พัฒนาการบริหารกิจการนักเรียนเน้นการวางแผนงานกิจการนักเรียนทักษะอารมณ์และสังคมด้านการตัดสินใจที่มีความรับผิดชอบ

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) ศึกษากรอบแนวคิดการบริหารวิชาการและวิเคราะห์องค์ประกอบกรอบความคิดผู้ประกอบการของนักเรียนมัธยมศึกษา 2) ศึกษาระดับกรอบความคิดผู้ประกอบการของนักเรียนมัธยมศึกษา 3) ศึกษาความต้องการจำเป็นในการพัฒนาการบริหารวิชาการสู่การพัฒนากรอบความคิดผู้ประกอบการของนักเรียนมัธยมศึกษา 4) พัฒนานวัตกรรมการบริหารวิชาการสู่การพัฒนากรอบความคิดผู้ประกอบการของนักเรียนมัธยมศึกษา โดยใช้การวิจัยแบบผสมวิธีพหุระยะ แบ่งเป็น 4 ระยะ ประชากร คือ โรงเรียนมัธยมศึกษาในสังกัดสำนักงานคณะกรรมการการศึกษาขั้นพื้นฐาน รวม 2,360 โรงเรียน กลุ่มตัวอย่าง ได้แก่ โรงเรียนมัธยมศึกษา จำนวน 400 โรงเรียน ได้จากการสุ่มแบบแบ่งชั้นและการสุ่มอย่างง่าย ผู้ให้ข้อมูลประกอบด้วย นักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 6 จำนวน 973 คน ผู้บริหารโรงเรียน หัวหน้างานหลักสูตร และครู จำนวน 1,031 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย คือ แบบประเมิน แบบสอบถาม และแบบสัมภาษณ์ วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยการคำนวณความถี่ ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน ความต้องการจำเป็น การวิเคราะห์องค์ประกอบเชิงยืนยันและการวิเคราะห์เนื้อหา ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1) กรอบแนวคิดการบริหารวิชาการ ประกอบด้วย (1) ด้านการพัฒนาหลักสูตร (2) ด้านการจัดการเรียนการสอนและพัฒนากระบวนการเรียนรู้ และ (3) ด้านการวัดประเมินผล 2) องค์ประกอบกรอบความคิดผู้ประกอบการนักเรียนมัธยมศึกษา มี 8 องค์ประกอบหลัก ประกอบด้วย (1) มีความมุ่งมั่นตั้งใจ (2) มีแรงบันดาลใจสู่เป้าหมายที่พึงประสงค์และความสำเร็จ (3) มีความกล้าเสี่ยง (4) มีภาวะผู้นำตนเอง (5) มีความกระตือรือร้นในการแสวงหาโอกาส (6) มีความอดทนต่อความไม่ชัดเจน (7) มีความยืดหยุ่นและฟื้นคืนพลัง และ (8) มีความคิดริเริ่มสร้างสรรค์นวัตกรรม 2) ระดับกรอบความคิดผู้ประกอบการของนักเรียนมัธยมศึกษา พบว่า มีความมุ่งมั่นตั้งใจ มีค่าเฉลี่ยสูงสุด และมีความกล้าเสี่ยง มีค่าเฉลี่ยต่ำสุด 3) ผลการจัดลำดับความต้องการจำเป็นในการพัฒนาการบริหารวิชาการสู่การพัฒนากรอบความคิดผู้ประกอบการของนักเรียนมัธยมศึกษา พบว่า การจัดการเรียนการสอนและพัฒนากระบวนการเรียนรู้ มีลำดับความต้องการจำเป็นสูงที่สุด รองลงมาคือ การวัดประเมินผล และการพัฒนาหลักสูตร 4) แนวปฏิบัติที่ดีในการบริหารวิชาการประกอบด้วย 23 …

การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) ศึกษากรอบแนวคิดสมรรถนะภาวะผู้นำด้านความยั่งยืนของนักเรียนและกรอบแนวคิดการบริหารวิชาการ 2) ศึกษาระดับสมรรถนะภาวะผู้นำด้านความยั่งยืนของนักเรียนโรงเรียนประถมศึกษาสังกัดกรุงเทพมหานคร 3) ศึกษาสภาพปัจจุบันและสภาพที่พึงประสงค์ของการบริหารวิชาการโรงเรียนประถมศึกษาสังกัดกรุงเทพมหานครตามแนวคิดสมรรถนะภาวะผู้นำด้านความยั่งยืนของนักเรียน และ 4) พัฒนานวัตกรรมการบริหารวิชาการโรงเรียนประถมศึกษาสังกัดกรุงเทพมหานครตามแนวคิดสมรรถนะภาวะผู้นำด้านความยั่งยืนของนักเรียน ใช้ระเบียบวิธีวิจัยแบบผสมวิธีพหุระยะประกอบด้วยสามระยะ ระยะที่ 1 เป็นการทำความเข้าใจปัญหาอย่างลึกซึ้งเพื่อตอบวัตถุประสงค์การวิจัยข้อที่หนึ่ง ระยะที่ 2 เป็นการทำความเข้าใจปัญหาอย่างลึกซึ้งและการกำหนดความต้องการจำเป็นเพื่อตอบวัตถุประสงค์การวิจัยข้อที่สองและสาม ประชากรคือโรงเรียนประถมศึกษาสังกัด กทม. จำนวน 431 โรงเรียน ผู้ให้ข้อมูลประกอบด้วยครูชั้น ป.1-6 และผู้บริหารโรงเรียน (ผู้บริหารสถานศึกษา รองผู้บริหารสถานศึกษาและหัวหน้ากลุ่มสาระการเรียนรู้) จำนวน 1,113 คนจากโรงเรียนกลุ่มตัวอย่าง 206 โรงเรียน ส่วนระยะที่ 3 เป็นการใช้แนวคิดจากมุมมองหลายด้านมาสร้างสรรค์สิ่งใหม่เป็นต้นแบบและทำการทดสอบเพื่อสรุปเป็นนวัตกรรมการบริหารวิชาการฯ เพื่อตอบวัตถุประสงค์การวิจัยข้อที่สี่ ผลการวิจัยพบว่า (1) กรอบแนวคิดสมรรถนะภาวะผู้นำด้านความยั่งยืนของนักเรียนประกอบด้วย 5 สมรรถนะหลัก ได้แก่ 1) ความฉลาดรู้ด้านความยั่งยืน 2) ค่านิยมเชิงรุก 3) การคิดเชิงระบบ 4) การร่วมมือกับภายนอก และ 5) การสร้างนวัตกรรมทางสังคม ส่วนกรอบแนวคิดการบริหารวิชาการประกอบด้วย 4 องค์ประกอบหลัก ได้แก่ 1) นโยบายการศึกษา 2) หลักสูตรและตำราเรียน 3) การเรียนการสอน และ 4) การประเมินผล (2) ระดับสมรรถนะภาวะผู้นำด้านความยั่งยืนของนักเรียนโรงเรียนประถมศึกษาสังกัดกรุงเทพมหานครโดยรวมอยู่ในระดับ “นักเรียนทำได้บ้าง” เมื่อพิจารณาในรายด้านของนักเรียน ชั้น ป.3 พบว่า มีสมรรถนะภาวะผู้นำด้านความยั่งยืนของนักเรียนที่อยู่ในระดับ “นักเรียนทำได้ดี” อยู่ 2 ด้านคือ 1) ความฉลาดรู้ด้านความยั่งยืน และ 2) ค่านิยมเชิงรุก ส่วนอีก 3 ด้านอยู่ในระดับ “นักเรียนทำได้บ้าง” ส่วนนักเรียนชั้น ป.6 พบว่า มีสมรรถนะภาวะผู้นำด้านความยั่งยืนของนักเรียนที่อยู่ในระดับ “นักเรียนทำได้ดี” อยู่ 1 ด้านคือ ค่านิยมเชิงรุก ส่วนอีก 4 ด้านอยู่ในระดับ “นักเรียนทำได้บ้าง” …

State funding for higher education is one of the most pressing issues facing both institutions and policymakers in 2022. Colorado has seen significant declines in the amount of state funding per student over the past two decades, resulting in increases in student burdens for tuition.
