The Effects That A Cognitive Behavior Modification Intervention Can Have On A Child With Behavioral Disabilities, Kelly Courtney
The Effects That A Cognitive Behavior Modification Intervention Can Have On A Child With Behavioral Disabilities, Kelly Courtney
Theses and Dissertations
This study is a focus on the effects that a cognitive behavior modification intervention can have on a child with behavior disabilities. Children with conduct disorder(s) frequently engage in aggressive and disruptive behaviors and often show and express their emotions in many different ways. Often these behaviors are controlled or managed through behavioral interventions. CBM aims to teach individuals to monitor their own behavior, pace or performance and to appropriately dispense self-reinforcement. A cognitive behavior modification program was implemented with one student. Through modeling, observation and then imitation, the child developed new behaviors. This intervention represents a viable alternative for …

Specifically, it looks at two main components; Victorian university graduates (with sub-components comprising domestic and international students) and university qualified people who obtained their degree outside of Australia. The estimates pertaining to Victorian university graduates have been converted into forecasts of commencement and completion numbers deemed necessary to meet the national attainment target by 2025. Detail about the Expert Panel …

International Students’ Engagement With Effective Educational Practices : A Cross-National Comparison, Daniel Edwards, Hamish Bennett Coates, Ali Radloff
Dr Daniel Edwards
International students in USA universities have higher levels of engagement with their institution when compared to international students enrolled in Australasian universities. ❚ The largest difference between USA and Australian international students was related to student and staff interactions. ❚ The growth in engagement with their institution between first and later year students among the international cohort is more prominent among those enrolled in USA than those in Australia or New Zealand. ❚ Among Australasian higher education students the international student group on average have higher levels of engagement than domestic students. ❚ When compared cross-nationally, the engagement score difference …

Embedded Librarians: Building Relationships With The Honors College, Jenna Rinalducci
Georgia International Conference on Information Literacy
This year long collaboration between the Honors College and the Library began with an instruction session for Honors College teaching assistants. Our collaboration focused primarily on the student’s first class on research methods. In their Honors 110: Research Methods class, students are introduced to research practices, including the development of research topics, the analysis of sources, and the organization of evidence. Activities developed are in collaboration with the Teacher-Librarian and classroom Teacher. The novel, Teddy Gets Out! serves as an inspiration to the development of the activities. This powerful story of unconditional love and motivation to succeed serves to successfully address literacy through a series of interdisciplinary activities. Activities address reading comprehension, vocabulary, character education, nature and ecology, artistic …
