Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
The purpose of this phenomenological study was to explore the lived experiences of special education teachers regarding job demands and resources for special education teachers in the Greater Simpson Public School District. The theory guiding this study was the Job Demands-Resources (JD-R) model, which explains how teachers manage job demands and utilize available resources, influencing retention and burnout. The central research question explored: What are the lived experiences of secondary special education teachers with job demands and resources that they perceive may influence the high turnover rate and retention? This study used semi-structured interviews, a virtual focus group, and an …

Predicting Success In Intermediate Algebra: The Role Of Gender, Race, Pert Scores, Homework Grade, Tutoring Hours, And Self-Efficacy In Math, Florencia Sepulveda
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
The purpose of this quantitative, predictive, correlational study was to examine if community college students' success in Intermediate Algebra can be predicted from a linear combination of gender, race, PERT score, online homework grade, hours of tutoring attended during the semester, and Math Skills Self-Efficacy Assessment score. The study employed binomial logistic regression to analyze data from 173 students enrolled in Intermediate Algebra. Results revealed that the model, while statistically non-significant, χ²(13) = 8.648, p = .799, explained 6.5% of the variance in course success and correctly classified 62% of cases. Despite these findings, no predictor variables had a significant …

The Opening Of The American Mind: The Christian Educator's Involvement In Public Education, Brett Austin Craddock
The Opening Of The American Mind: The Christian Educator's Involvement In Public Education, Brett Austin Craddock
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
Two kingdoms theology has impacted the church and guided individual believers in various aspects of their personal lives. Religious leaders, ministers, and Christians founded the American education system. The public education system of America now serves a multicultural population of students. The works of Charles Taylor and Allan Bloom highlight changes that have occurred in the 21st century and have impacted education. The misapplication of a two kingdoms theology perspective may have caused Christian educators to leave the secular classrooms. Christian educators as redemptive citizens may serve in the secular, multicultural classrooms across America to provide unintrusive education for all …

The Effects Of Seesaw On "John Kanaka" Singing Assessment Tracking And Teacher-To-Student Feedback In The Third Grade Elementary Music Classroom, Sarah Elizabeth Gonzalez
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
Assessments play a vital role for teachers to measure individual student progress and motivate instruction that meets students' needs. Traditional assessments provide a substantive way for teachers to collect data, which they will analyze long after they administer the assessment. Creating substantial evidence for individual performance-based standards poses a challenge. Seesaw serves as an online platform for student engagement, allowing students to share their knowledge while parents can safely monitor it through photos, videos, drawings, text, audio, PDFs, and links. The researchers conducted the study over four weeks in March 2025 in the third-grade music classes at Ray Roberts Elementary. …

Documentation quantitatively measuring the effect of tenor-bass ensembles in the recruitment and retention of male singers is limited within the literature. Without data, choral music educators may lack the evidence to justify adjusting their choral program offerings to include all-male ensembles. This quantitative, causal-comparative study compares eighth to ninth grade male student retention between schools in the state of Georgia that offer the all-male or tenor-bass model and those that do not. This study investigates the correlation between the number of male students who continue choral enrollment between eighth and ninth grades and their prior participation in middle school tenor-bass …
