Online insurance is a new type of e-commerce with exponential growth. An effective recommendation model that maximizes the total revenue of insurance products listed in multiple customized sales scenarios is crucial for the success of online insurance business. Prior recommendation models are ineffective because they fail to characterize the complex relatedness of insurance products in multiple sales scenarios and maximize the overall conversion rate rather than the total revenue. Even worse, it is impractical to collect training data online for total revenue maximization due to the business logic of online insurance. This thesis aims to explore the relationship between financial markets and economic growth in Egypt for the 15 years period, starting from 2005 to 2019. The study concentrates on the non-banking financial sector which includes the stock market, the debt market, the mortgage and the insurance sectors. The Vector Autoregressive (VAR) model is utilized to describe the relationship between GDP growth rate, as a proxy for economic growth, and a number of variables from the financial sector. Start-ups are institutionally fragile companies that deal with high degrees of risk and uncertainty, especially during short-term shocks, such as COVID-19. This policy brief attempts to identify the needed development in the start-up supporting ecosystem under COVID-19 pandemic, with a special focus on human capital management (HCM), decent work, and labor resilience in start-ups in Egypt. The core question of the paper is: How did COVID-19 pandemic affect the HCM practices in Egyptian start-ups and what is needed for start-ups in Egypt to recover from the crisis and sustain decent jobs and labor resilience?

In this project, we aimed to use ensemble machine learning algorithms to trade ten cryptocurrencies along with attempting to add more external factors. Cryptocurrency included in this project were Cardano (ADA), Binance Coin (BNB), Bitcoin (BTC), DOGE, DOT, Ethereum (ETH), LINK, Polygon (MATIC), Uniswap (UNI), and Ripple (XRP). Furthermore, ten external factors, which are ten major stock indices, were added to the algorithm. All machine learning algorithms in this project are used to trade for four trading circumstacnes, an 1-hour interval, six-hour interval, daily interval and weekly interval. งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อประเมินความเสี่ยงของสินทรัพย์และกลุ่มหลักทรัพย์ลงทุนในเหตุการณ์วิกฤติเศรษฐกิจ โดยใช้ทฤษฎีค่าสุดขีดตามการแจกแจงพาเรโตนัยทั่วไปในรูปแบบตัวแปรเดียว เพื่อประเมินมูลค่าความเสี่ยงและค่าเฉลี่ยความเสียหายส่วนเกินของแต่ละสินทรัพย์ลงทุน งานวิจัยนี้ยังวิเคราะห์ความเสี่ยงของกลุ่มหลักทรัพย์ลงทุนที่ประกอบด้วยสินทรัพย์ประเภทเดียว และกลุ่มหลักทรัพย์ลงทุนที่ประกอบด้วยสินทรัพย์มากกว่าหนึ่งประเภท จนกระทั่งขยายไปเป็นรูปแบบหลายตัวแปร โดยใช้ตัวแบบ Orthogonal GARCH ในการประมาณค่ามูลค่าความเสี่ยงและค่าเฉลี่ยความเสียหายส่วนเกินของกลุ่มหลักทรัพย์ลงทุน งานวิจัยนี้ได้เปรียบเทียบระดับความเสี่ยงของสินทรัพย์และกลุ่มหลักทรัพย์ลงทุนแต่ละรูปแบบ รวมทั้งได้ทดสอบความแม่นยำของตัวแบบโดยการทดสอบย้อนกลับ ผลการวิจัยพบว่า อัตราผลตอบแทนรายวันของสินทรัพย์มีการแจกแจงพาเรโตนัยทั่วไป และตัวแบบที่นำเสนอในงานวิจัยนี้มีความเหมาะสมในการนำมาประเมินความแปรปรวนร่วมแบบมีเงื่อนไขของกลุ่มหลักทรัพย์ลงทุนทั้งหมด นอกจากนั้น ผลการวิจัยชี้ให้เห็นว่าการกระจายความเสี่ยงด้วยการสร้างกลุ่มหลักทรัพย์ลงทุนจะช่วยลดระดับความเสี่ยงที่จะเกิดการขาดทุนจากการลงทุนได้ และจากการทดสอบความน่าเชื่อถือของตัวแบบด้วยการทดสอบย้อนกลับ พบว่า กระบวนการทฤษฎีค่าสุดขีดหลายตัวแปร สามารถทำนายมูลค่าความเสี่ยงของกลุ่มหลักทรัพย์ลงทุนได้อย่างแม่นยำ หรือสามารถชี้วัดระดับความเสี่ยงที่ได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ และสามารถนำเอาตัวแบบในงานวิจัยนี้ไปประยุกต์ใช้ได้จริงในการประเมินความเสี่ยงของผลตอบแทนของแต่ละสินทรัพย์และกลุ่มหลักทรัพย์ลงทุน

Purpose

This paper investigates the effect of Walmart presence on professional service firms within the finance and insurance sector. This paper also discusses the finance and insurance industry’s place within the Walmart ripple effect—changed retail sector leads to changed professional support services resulting in altered levels of social capital within the community.

Design/Methodology

The study uses county-level data from the state of Nebraska to examine the relationship between cumulative Walmart exposure and the number of firms, number of employees, and payroll levels within the finance and insurance (F&I) sector.
