An increasing number of churches and ministries are applying the principles of strategic planning (Clinton, Williams, & Stevens, 1995). This article examines recent trends and developments in an increasingly popular HR practice--incentive pay programs. In addition to highlighting major developments in recent empirical studies, this article also synthesizes recent research pertaining to general guidelines or strategies for design, implementation, and the utilization of incentive pay programs. Counter arguments pointing out potential pitfalls and precautions will also be discussed. The article concludes by offering some recommendations for future research.

This paper provides an analysis of the U.S. News and World Report 2002 ratings of America's best colleges in the area of undergraduate business specialties. The U.S. News ranking procedures are described and then a detailed comparison of actual programs and courses is accomplished for the top-ranked schools. This study looked at the specific area of undergraduate business specialties: supply chain management/logistics. Based on analysis of data collected, it is likely that there are misperceptions in the U.S. News survey in the category of undergraduate business specialties.

This thesis explores the utilization of golf courses by residents of the particular golf course community. Structural and locational characteristics are known to affect housing prices, and numerous studies have explored many of these characteristics. However very little empirical information was available on the effect of golf course location for improved property. Two recent studies find that building on a golf course adds 7 to 8 percent to the value of property. However, we find that for a private development on a barrier island, building a villa or single family home on a golf course does not have any significant impact on price. Specific locational factors may explain this unexpected result.

This paper examines the effect of different residential electrical load profiles (electrical energy consumption patterns within a day) on energy charges for customers with solar panels under different Southern California Edison time-of-use (TOU) rate plans. We identify the TOU plan which would be the most cost effective for solar customers with each load profile. The impact of the orientation of the solar panel array (whether it faces south or west or east) and shading patterns on electricity charges are examined. Despite increased research attention on guests’ motivators to use peer-to-peer (P2P) accommodation, such as Airbnb, it remains unclear which motivators have the strongest effect on repurchase intention; and how the COVID-19 pandemic changes the effects of motivators. By conducting two U.S.-based studies before and during the COVID-19 pandemic, this study tested and compared the indirect and total effects of 13 motivators on repurchase intention on the P2P accommodation platforms via satisfaction. Functional motivators increased repurchase intention via satisfaction before and during the pandemic. Neighborhood – a location-based functional motivator – consistently had the strongest total effects on repurchase intention. COVID-anxiety …

Driven by the work-home resources model as theoretical backing, I used path analytic methods to examine the mechanisms by which key workplace resources for postpartum women, including family-focused support from organizational stakeholders, flexibility availability, and breastfeeding resources, relate to their subsequent perceptions of work interference with family and engagement in physical activity and high quality/quantity sleep. Purpose: The purpose of this phenomenological study was to identify and describe, through the lens of activity theory (AT), the challenges and best practices of marketing directors at private, non-profit higher education institutions on how they lead brand and culture alignment.

Methodology: This phenomenological study collected, analyzed, and triangulated data through 15 semi-structured interviews and the collection of artifacts. Data was then coded into themes, frequencies were calculated, and data was organized into the four categories of AT: tools, rules, community, and division of labor.

Purpose: The purpose of this correlational study was to determine what relationship, if any, existed between employee engagement and psychological safety as measured by the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES) and the Academy of Brain-based Leadership’s S.A.F.E.T.Y.™ Assessment and Pulse Survey domains of security, autonomy, fairness, esteem, and trust.

Methodology: A quantitative, correlational methodology was used for this study. The post-hoc sample comprised of 61 high-performing sales professionals working in California. Participants completed the three assessments online via SurveyMonkey. The data were analyzed using a Spearman correlation.

Professional sports are a cornerstone of mainstream capitalist society, a site where issuesof race, class, gender, nation, and religion amongst others are produced, contested, and negotiated. In particular, gender regulation policies serve to delineate the acceptable boundaries of racialised gender and create sanctioned opportunities to surveil transgressive bodies. In this thesis, I posit that professional sports rely on and protect uniformity of gender experience to regulate and exclude trans* and intersex participation and, furthermore, that gender regulation policies delineate the boundaries of gender and particularly womanhood in a way that further marginalises nonbinary athletes. Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the relative importance of different employability skills for business graduates seeking initial employment.

Method: Semi-structured survey questionnaires were administered to human resources representatives from industry, business lecturers, and graduating business students to determine gaps in perceptions between the three stakeholder groups.

Results: There was some alignment and moderate discrepancies in perceptions of the relative importance of different employability skills between the three stakeholder groups. There were statistically significant differences in perceived importance of communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills between graduating students and employers.
